About this property

Modern Bungalow - Endless Recreation, Close to TV

About: Woodlands Bungalow is a newly renovated retreat nestled into the woods near Long Lake and Traverse City. You can hike to beautiful Lake Dubonnet and it is less than a 5 min. drive from two public beaches on Long Lake. The bungalow is stylish with all new furnishings. Guests can enjoy a sauna, fire pit, basketball hoop and fat tire bikes. The property links up to thousands of acres of state land for hiking, snowshoeing and more. 8 min to Lake Ann, 10 min to Interlochen and Traverse City.

The space:
This cozy (768sqft), well equipped bungalow is your perfect home base for exploring the region. It recently went through a full renovation and boasts a spacious and stylish kitchen with everything you need to cook up a feast; a dining table that also makes a great workspace; a comfy living room with a toasty gas fireplace place and large TV, a brand new bathroom with a deep tub and bath products you’ll actually want to use; and two bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has two twins. Both bedrooms have brand new mattresses, generous closets and offer peaceful views of the trees. All of the furnishings are new and have been selected for comfort and to maximize the functionality of the space. While you could spend all day enjoying the comforts and style of the indoor spaces, the beautiful piece of property that this bungalow sits on is really the star of the show.

The five wooded acres are stunning in every season and the hiking, biking and exploration can continue onto the thousands of acres of nearby state land. We have a sauna and fire pit in the backyard. We also provide two pairs of snow shoes and two fat tire bikes. Bikes are for use at your own risk. There are also public horse trails right through the backyard. We are working on setting the property up so that you can bring your horse - stay tuned! In the summertime, head to the side yard and enjoy the fresh herb garden for your meals. Kids and pets will love running around in the backyard and you can’t beat a campfire in the woods.

There is plenty of space to park your ATVs (lots of off road trailers nearby), your boat and other toys.

Woodlands Bungalow is perfect for small families, couples, friends and solo travelers. Inside and outside you’ll find plenty of places to recharge and reconnect.

SECURITY DISCLOSURE
We have two security cameras: One above the front door and one above the back door. Cameras are actively recording. We do not look at the footage from these cameras while we have guests unless we have an explicit reason to do so.

Bungalow Access:
Guests have private and exclusive use of the home and 5 acres of property. In the welcome book you will find information about how to access the other adjoining public land. We live nearby and love offering recommendations!

We give our guests privacy and autonomy to come and go as you please.

You will have contactless access to the bungalow and a comprehensive welcome book with all of the details you should need. As your hosts, we are available through the Airbnb ap for any questions you have about the space or about the region. We love sharing our favorite restaurant recommendations, hiking spots and wineries, just ask!

About the area:
Woodlands Bungalow is located in beautiful Long Lake Township. The area is known and loved by locals and visitors alike for its abundance of outdoor recreation. At the center is 3,000 acre Long Lake, which is exceptional for boating and fishing. If you walk up the road from the bungalow and you’ll find Fisher Trail, one of the many trail systems in the township. The nearby Timbers recreation area boasts frontage on Page Lake, a network of two-track trails and an old Girl Scout camp to explore. There are many other parks and trail systems nearby. For small town charm, drive just 8 minutes to Lake Ann where you can listen to live music year round at the famed Lake Ann Brewery and visit our favorite general store in the area. In 10 minutes you’ll be in Interlochen where you can take in a concert on the shores of Green Lake at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. In less than 20 minutes find yourself in the heart of downtown Traverse City for endless shopping, dining and entertainment. You are also close to Leelanau County where you can enjoy wineries, the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore and miles of Lake Michigan beaches with views of the dunes. Overall we love this location because you get the best of both worlds. Privacy and a natural setting and proximity to so much.

Traverse City Respite

We came to Traverse City for some R&R and The Modern Bungalow did not disappoint. It was close to everything near Traverse City and it was very clean, well appointed and very quiet. We loved spending time around the fire pit in the evenings and on the deck in the mornings.
