Located on the town (beach side) of Puerto Morelos. Sea views from upstairs in la palapa. A short 4 minute walk to wide beach entrance. Easy 20 min walk to town on beach or paved road for biking or walking. 8 minute drive to town. 10 min on bike. A private home with stunning new pool in one of the most beautiful settings in Puerto Morelos. A stay in our two story Beach House offers “the best of all possible worlds”

Combining a 'traditional' Mayan Palapa with a modern Adobe home, great snorkeling and swimming with easy beach access. Large front sundeck and back terrace deck with heavenly outdoor shower and gorgeous completely private pool.
Downstairs fully air conditioned living room bedroom air conditioned with en suite bath.
Upstairs in la palapa is also fully air conditioned shower on outside terrace.
We are located in the town of Puerto Morelos, only twenty minutes south of Cancun airport and ten minutes from the main highway leading to historic Mayan sites, popular tourist attractions and modern shopping and dining.

The upstairs 'Palapa' (newly air conditioned) has a twenty-five foot high thatched peaked ceiling with varnished wood beams and tiled floors, a king size bed and hammocks, a private bathroom and two outdoor sundecks – one facing the ocean where you can sunbathe and enjoy the Caribbean breezes – fabulous sunsets over the jungle from the back terrace. You can watch the sun rise from your upstairs bed or luxuriate in an invigorating outdoor shower surrounded by palms and bamboo trees.

The town plaza of Puerto Morelos is only five minutes by car, taxi, an easy bike ride or a twenty-minute leisurely walk along the beach. Puerto Morelos, a small unassuming town with all the conveniences you could desire and no tourist congestion, boasts fine restaurants, a pizza parlor, cafés, a playground, church, beaches, a grocery store, a bookstore, a travel agency, and a dive shop (if you decide not to snorkel from the beach in front of the Palapa) and once a week an outdoor fresh produce market.

You can also sun and shop and play in Cancun or Playa del Carmen or tour the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, Coba and Tulum. The entire coast (the Mayan Riviera) is one long stretch of beautiful beaches, cabanas, and ecological environmental parks where you can horseback ride, swim in ceynotes and underground caves and visit the historical Mayan Ruins. Taxis are plentiful and reasonable for trips up and down the coast. There are also tour buses to various Mayan sites that can be booked in Puerto.

The biggest problem? You'll never want to leave!!

Super stay in Puerto Morelos!

The palapa was wonderful for our stay, we have 2 children, and we felt very safe in this area.There were a few ants/bugs in the home, but that is to be expected as the jungle is in the backyard. The check-out process was a little confusing, as there is no written instructions posted as to check-out time and procedures, but otherwise the hosts were lovely and so helpful. Highly recommend!!

Loved our stay!

What a gem in every way! Staying here made our entire vacation. Nora and Colleen were incredible and so warm and inviting. Their communication from the very beginning was excellent. They gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and snorkeling. The house was beautiful, clean and spacious with comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen and the pool was a perfect place for our family to relax and enjoy after a day at the beach. Blue Ivy is a true oasis and we loved everything about it! Thank you Colleen and Nora!!

Beautiful stay at the palapa!

We had a fantastic stay at the house—it was ideal for our group of three. The pool was fantastic, and the location couldn’t have been better, just a short walk to the beach. The check-in and check-out process was seamless, and the host stayed in touch throughout our stay, ensuring we had everything we needed. We also worked remotely for a few days, and the Wi-Fi was reliable. Highly recommend!

Perfection!

What a beautiful, serene home-away-from-home Colleen and Nora have created in Puerto Morelos! The home and property are thoughtfully appointed and beautiful. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The home is spotless. The private pool and grounds are so well maintained and clean. The property location is quiet and safe - I could have stayed here for months!But what really made this an all-around 5 star review was the exceptional kindness and professionalism of the hosts. Nora and Colleen are simply wonderful! Their communication was fantastic - always quick to respond both leading up to and throughout our stay. When my transportation to the airport fell through, to my great relief, they kindly directed me to a reliable and trusted driver. Bottom line: don’t pass this listing up! I’ll be booking again for 2026! (Fingers crossed!)

Wonderful

We had a relaxing, amazing time. The outdoor shower, pool and garden area were just what we needed to get away and connect. Nora met us at the house and took us on a tour of the village. Couldn’t have asked for a better host. Looking forward to our next visit.

Simply Amazing!

This property is truly a gem! The pool was perfect and the house was spotless, well equipped, and gorgeous. The two bicycles were a fun way to get to town, though I would recommend renting a car if you have small children or a larger group of people as the taxis end up being kind of spendy and the walk into town is pretty long. Communication with the hosts was excellent, they really took care of us! Hope we can make this an annual vacation spot!

Little Oasis

The house was very clean and private. Had everything needed for our stay. Pool and outdoor cooking area were lovely. There was a perfect crossbreeze through the upstairs windows, so you wake up to the sounds of the birds and a view of sunrise over the ocean. Norma showed us around town as part of check in. Both hosts were available if we needed anything via whatsapp

Incredible Hosts!

The property is in a great location close to Puerto Morelos. Off street, secure parking. Beautiful pool and grounds. Everything we needed for our stay. I don't have enough great words to describe the kindness of the hosts. My wife slipped and broke her leg the day we were to check in. We were several hours late and were treated wonderfully. Nora escorted us to the grocery store and gave us a brief tour of the beautiful town. We are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you, Nora and Colleen!

Loved this house..

Colleen and Nora were great hosts. They were very helpful and even drove us to town and showed us around. The house is great and very well equipped with about anything you need. Having our own pool was so nice. I highly recommend this property. Felt very safe the whole time we were there. We even met some of the neighbors who were very nice. Actually everyone we met in Puerto Morelos were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Nice house

The house was clean and very well stocked. Very spacious. Lots of books and puzzles for rainy days. Good internet. Pool was nice but not heated and cool. It will get cooler over winter. Would have appreciated 4 lounge chairs by the pool for tanning.

Good, relaxing few days.

Very comfortable property and loved the pool area, which is totally secluded. Stairs to the upper level are challenging and may not be suitable for everyone. A good 20 minute walk to the main square, or slightly longer on the road (but an easier walk). Lots of good places to eat in town; we didn’t use the facilities at the villa. Colleen was very helpful and responsive, when needed.

Look No Further

There are not enough words to describe this amazing home and experience. It is comfortable, beautiful and has everything you would desire to make you feel at home in paradise. The owners were wonderful and Nora gave us a warm welcome including a mini tour of Puerto Morelos. The private pool is beautiful and sleeping in the palapa was an extraordinary experience. The location is perfect, we had the small town atmosphere with the convenience of being centrally located for day trips. We wanted for nothing, including fresh drinking water, lots of towels, laundry room access and a well stocked home. The beds are super comfortable and we had all the privacy you could desire. We highly recommend this property and hope to stay there again. Strong 5 stars. Thank you Colleen and Nora for exceeding our expectations and making our vacation beyond fabulous.

Family March Break, One Week Stay

We just had the most amazing stay at Colleen and Nora's place in Puerto Morelos! The house had everything we needed for our family of five, including the best weather! How they arranged that, I'll never know. We were travelling with three children (12, 10, 8). We were delayed by two hours, but Nora graciously waited for us to arrive to give us an introductory house tour. The house slept us all comfortably, stayed cool when we needed it, and felt super safe. The house, pool, and yard lived up to our expectations. Plenty of drinking water was provided and the full kitchen was perfect for whipping up meals when we didn't feel like eating out. We loved the convenience of being just a 20-minute walk or a quick 8-minute bike ride away from town. Colleen extended help with a driver, amenity access, and activity planning. Super helpful! Activities: public beach access (it's just across the road and absolutely stunning), cenotes, snorkeling. We couldn't have asked for a better spot.

A great place for getting away from it all.

This home is located in a quiet area just north of the town center. It's in a quiet little strip nestled between the jungle and the ocean. We stayed here along with a family of 4 with two children. Everyone had plenty of space to relax, especially with the pool right there in the backyard! Colleen was very helpful in communicating with us about everything we needed. She even referred us to a Transportation service that was very good to drive us back up to Cancun when we had to leave. The town of Puerto Morelos has so many great restaurants in it that we never got a chance to try them all. Every one we did go to had fantastic food for inexpensive prices! We had some of the best tacos in our life here. I highly recommend this home! One thing to note: Here on Homeaway the description states that you have a Washer and Dryer available to you. However, due to people abusing it Colleen has had to change the policy so that you can only get your laundry done by Carmen, the housekeeper, when she comes to clean every 5 days. Not a big deal, since Carmen does a beautiful job, but I mention it here so that you can plan accordingly when you pack...

The perfect place to relax!!

Nora and Colleen are the perfect hosts. On our first day, Nora drove us around town and introduced the family to the popular restaurants and lay of the land. Our family enjoyed a full week and tremendously enjoyed our stay at La Palapa at Blue Ivy, a beautiful Villa. The grounds, of this Mayan palapa, are well kept with its own private pool caretaker. The Villa is air conditioned and well stocked with everything you would need for a relaxing time (linen, towels, 2 bicycles, pool). The upstairs’ bedroom is exquisite with a beautiful, thatched roof and wraparound sun deck. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could think of for preparing meals. Each morning we woke to the sounds of tropical birds, a beautiful backyard and tropical garden, where we enjoyed breakfast and a swim. In the evenings we enjoyed the built-in grill and lighted pool. While the villa is approximately one mile from the heart of town, it is close enough to ride by bicycle if you’re in tip-top shape. Taxis are inexpensive but if you’re up for driving, the town is both quaint and safe. Puerto Morelos is a wonderful city where people are friendly, family oriented and patient. There’s lots to do in and around Puerto Morelos! We will, definitely, return to Puerto Morelos and, especially, La Palapa at Blue Ivy--the perfect place to relax.

Private Paradise

What a unique and wonderful find this home is! Looking for a place for my wife and I to get away for our anniversary, and we found the Palapa. The pictures of the pool area drew us in initially, and they didn’t disappoint. The pool area was lush and beautiful, and delivered the privacy and seclusion that we were hoping for. Once the gate to the property is closed, you feel like you’ve been swept away to a private oasis where the rest of the world doesn’t exist. Inside the home was also exactly as pictured. It was very clean, comfortable and cozy. The home also is conveniently stocked with all of the necessities for everyday living. Given that is was just the two of us, we chose to sleep in the Palapa instead of the 1st floor bedroom. What a unique treat! The second floor palapa is essentially one large “master suite”, complete with a sitting area, lounge chairs, and even a hammock. Opening all of the windows eliminated any need for air conditioning, as the ocean breeze kept the home at a comfortable temp, even in the mid-to-late afternoons. The home is conveniently located in the charming town of Puerto Morelos. The beach is just across the street from the home. A short walk will lead you to numerous beachfront options for bars, restaurants, and even massages. We tended to walk the beach into town for dinner, groceries, etc., the take a quick taxi ride home at the end of the evening. Taxis are readily accessible in Puerto Morelos, and very inexpensive ($5 home).

Ein Paradies, wenn man Hundegebell mag.

Wir mussten während unseres zweiwöchigen Aufenthaltes ständiges und lang andauerndes Hundegebell in Kauf nehmen. Dadurch konnten wir uns leider nicht gut erholen. Auf dem direkten Nachbargrundstück ist eine Hundeauffangstation. Dies wird hier leider mit keinem Wort erwähnt, sonst hätten wir dieses Haus auf keinen Fall gebucht! Das Haus und der Garten selbst sind wirklich schön, eigentlich ein kleines Paradies, aber das Gebelle von früh morgens bis Sonnenuntergang hat uns die Nerven geraubt!

Great stay in Puerto Morelos!

We had a wonderful stay in Puerto Morelos! Colleen and Nora were wonderful hosts - Nora met us at check in and helped us get oriented to town (get to the grocery store, etc.) and they stayed in touch throughout the week to make sure our stay was going well. We were traveling with a 1 year old and the house had a pack and play, which was very helpful. It is also a very comfortable house with a great pool / outdoor area, perfect for hanging out while the baby napped. There's a first floor bedroom with en suite bathroom and a room upstairs with both bed and lounge areas, which gave us ample space to spread out. The house is just a few minute drive from the town center, on a nice quiet road. There is public beach access right by the house, but we wound up going to a local beach club to have chairs, umbrellas, etc. You can walk along the beach to get between the house and town if you want an alternative to driving!

Awesome and unique

We stayed 4 nights just prior to Thanksgiving. The home is absolutely lovely. Nice furnishings, great kitchen, fast internet. The photos really do not do it justice. The pool was perfect for my family of 4. We saw coats, hummingbirds, butterflies and several species of birds. The birds make for very good alarm clocks! The home is a bit North of town but 2 of the 4 days we walked along the beach to one of the beach clubs and it was maybe 20 minutes at a leisurely clip. The other times we would take taxis which ran us $10 US one way. I highly recommend La Palapa and would stay again for sure! The hosts were wonderful and very responsive.
