Wonderful cottage
We loved our stay at the cottage. It was so quiet and peaceful. It was close to the family and places we wanted to go but gave us such a restful place to come home to. We’ll probably be back again

Our Secret
Very few people know about this hidden gem called Tiverton on the eastern shore of Narragansett Bay. I don't want to extoll its virtues too loudly lest it become too popular. Don't tell anyone!

lovely setting with water views in the distance
The cottage and grounds were charming and welcoming within the pretty enclave of Tiverton Four Corners. In walking distance is a great beach favored by local families, and the roads surrounding the cottage are perfect for long bucolic walks or runs. Nearby is the village of Four Corners which boasts a fun, hip cafe, a small convenience store with ice cream stand, and a gourmet food shop. The cottage porch is a wonderful place to sit in the afternoon with a good book! Deb and Michael, the homeowners, are lovely and knowledgable.

Friendly, helpful host, beautiful, serene location
If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful shore vacation, this is the place for you. Ten minute walk to a natural beach. 15 minute drive from several general stores and farm markets for most culinary needs. Lots of low traffic roads for excellent cycling. The cottage is comfortable, private, and perfect for enjoying the coastal breezes. Would definitely consider returning.

Idyllic Sojourn
An old summer cottage with a view over the marsh and out to the bay, you approach this little gem on a cobbled New England farm lane. The cottage is set beneath a couple a large maple trees that provide shade. Deer and wild turkeys roam the property along with rabbits and chipmunks. Egrets, cormorants, osprey, gulls, and terns are ever present. Peaceful, quiet, and very private. Just minutes from Fogland Beach and Fogland Point where we walked every day. Close to shops and restaurants at trendy Tiverton 4 Corners. Deb and Michael are super friendly hosts. If you want luxury, go somehwere else. If you want privacy and beauty and nature, check it out.

Wonderful stay at quiet, cozy cottage
We had a lovely summer vacation in this cozy cottage with amazing views to the Sakonnet River. We enjoyed the local Fog Cutter coffee in the morning, and cocktails in the evening, from the front porch. The cottage is in a great location, with nearby beach access, and a short drive to Tiverton Four Corners, local farm stands and cafés. And the best part of our stay was the hospitality of our wonderful hosts, who gave us lots of privacy but always checked in to see if we needed anything. Perfect! We hope to return.

Paradise Found.....
This was our dream cottage tucked away on a private drive overlooking the seashore.....My daughter and I just whiled away the days either on the front porch with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee, collecting seashells at the ocean floor mixed with many an adventure in neighboring towns......rummaging through vintage shops, finding local history lore, attending bakery after bakery until we decided we found the perfect bite. Tiverton is a bit of the English countryside with its stone walls and shingled sided houses lining the town with a heart warming friendliness made by local Rhode Islanders. The cottage itself was to die for...antique decor with whimsical touches, beautiful linens and above all great hospitality, Deborah and Michael couldn't have been more gracious! Everyday was a peaceful adventure from ferry rides to Block Island, to an eclectic Mill town 15 minutes away, Fall River, MA, a food lovers oasis! Portuguese, French, Polish, English cuisine just to name a few! But no matter how busy our days were each night we delighted in the prospect of returning "home" to the quiet and still of the ocean and the comfort and coziness that would be ours.

Perfect Retreat
This quaint cottage was exactly what I was looking for. So I write this review with mixed feelings knowing that others will visit, thus making it too popular! The kitchen was well-equipped and the BBQ was well used. Almy's Roost is ideally located, and along with the breathtaking vista and cooling breezes, made it the perfect spot. Slept soundly at night and began and ended each day on the quaint, rustic front porch. Deborah and Michael were great hosts and supplied plenty of information regarding where to go and what to see. I hope to return for an even longer stay.

Amazing Fogland cottage retreat!
Deborah & Michael were wonderful hosts....respected our privacy yet they were always accessible to answer our questions and recommend places to go & places to eat. Yum! We stayed for a week as we attended a wedding in Newport. While most guests stayed in Newport hotels, we had the best accommondations of everyone.....beauty, nature, quiet, summer breezes,a front porch for intimate dining and glorious sunsets. We would return in a heartbeat & will recommend it to anyone heading to Rhode Island. Warm regards, Lynn & Robin.

Peaceful and serene.
As sailors, we were looking for a quiet, secluded place after long voyages to rest our heads. Deborah and Michael's cottage at Fogland Beach certainly fit the bill. The setting over looking the estuary and the Sakonnet River was beautiful and their hospitality couldn't have been better. The sunsets were spectacular as well. For the two us, the cottage's layout and amenities were perfect and the occasional visits from the local wildlife were pleasant surprises. We stayed from mid June to October 1st. If you are coming to visit the Tiverton and Little Compton areas as well as Newport and Southeastern Massachusetts, we would highly recommend a stay at this beautiful Fogland Beach cottage. Pristine Setting
Gorgeous setting. View of the water from the front porch. Short stroll to the beach. All sorts of birds...we saw a mama turkey and her babies. Deborah and Michael are warm and welcoming. Kitchen is equipped if you choose to cook. Second stay there and can't wait to go back.

Amazing New England Hideaway
Wow, what a place. If you want to get away from it all this is your destination! I came away from my week here feeling so refreshed and relaxed. the cottage was well equipped with all you could need and also comfortable. You do need a mode of transportation either a bike (which we rented) or a car as the nearest shops or restaurants aren't really walkable. You also couldn't ask for nicer hosts, Deborah and Michael couldn't do enough for us and made us feel so welcome. I was overwhelmed with how lovely they were! I wouldn't hesitate in coming back, a perfect spot lead to a perfect holiday!

Easy living
I was here for a week on my own and it was bliss. The cottage has everything you could need, and if it doesn't Deborah & Michael will do their best to sort it out. Sitting on the porch morning or evening is perfect. The sea is just visible through the trees (a 5 min walk away) and various small animals appear from time to time. I was very taken with the wild turkeys. Various stalls on the road provide a great range of locally grown fruit and vegetables, and there are some nice shops, restaurants and outstanding ice cream at Four Corners. You'll have to go a little further to find a supermarket. This is a special place for one or two people. It's very cosy and there's a profoundly relaxing atmosphere among the surrounding trees. Enjoy yourself.

Oasis bordering on Nirvana
We spent two weeks at Almy's Roost this summer - two weeks of calm out of busy lives - and couldn't have loved it more. The cottage is pretty and comfortable, with good linen and towels, a feisty little coffee maker, and numerous places to curl up and read. The beach - five minutes' stroll away - has sand, sea glass, warm water, shoals of tiny silver fish, and spectacular sunsets. Rolling countryside, winding lanes, quirky little stores and fantastic seafood restaurants to suit every budget all combine to make this my ideal vacation. Michael and Deborah are the perfect hosts/landlords too: genuinely kind and helpful people who will give as much advice and information as you desire without ever being "too-present". I challenge anyone to stay a night at Almy's Roost without starting to fantasise about just living there forever.

Simply Serene
If you’re wanting to “get away from it all,” this adorable little cottage in Tiverton is just the place to go. My favorite feature was the covered front porch. We lingered in the mornings on sipping coffee and soaking up the peace and quiet. The cottage is very private, and though it is small, there’s plenty of room for two people. We put the windows up and enjoyed cross-breezes when we were inside. Deborah and Michael welcomed us when we got there and were just so warm and gracious throughout our stay. With Deborah being a Tiverton native, we were in good hands in terms of local shopping and restaurant recommendations. We found a lot of good food there, I’ll have to say. We particularly liked Bayside Restaurant and the pastries and such at Coastal Cafe down the street. Thank you, Deborah and Michael for everything. We hope to stay in the Fogland Cottage again sometime!
