About this property

NEW! Ocean and stream views. Listen to waves & enjoy whale watching from lanai.

The Ninole Hale is a duplex with two separate dwellings. This listing is for the top unit.

We’re situated on 1.5 acres on the beautiful Hamakua coast on the east side of Hawaii. We have stunning ocean views and boarder a year round stream. You can often hear waves crashing from the lanai and see whales pass by in season.

The home has two primary suites with en-suite bathrooms and walk through closets. There is a well-stocked kitchen with new stainless appliances. A lanai spans the width of the home and is the perfect spot to enjoy meals, sip beverages, and whale watch.

There is a shared yard space on the side of the home for yard games, playing catch with the kids, or enjoying some sunshine. You can get to historic Laupahoehoe Point Beach Park in under 10 minutes. Surf, bodyboard or sunbathe at Honoli'i beach, approximately 20 min away. Hilo and it's several beaches are 30 minutes away. Classic Hapuna beach on the west side of the island is just 75 minutes away.

The owners live on property in a separate dwelling with their 2 french bulldogs and an outdoor cat. Six happy hens also call this beautiful place home.

Great Hawaiian Feel
We had a wonderful time on the Big Island. Beautiful home with all the amenities- complete fresh eggs & Hawaiian fruit! Our hosts were great! We even got to experience a hurricane - Dan & Molly made sure we had flashlights & were nearby if we needed anything!! Thanks again for sharing your beautiful home! It’s amazing!

Wonderful place!
Clean, beautiful, quiet place. Plenty of space for a family of 4. Great ocean views from the lanai. Fresh eggs in the fridge courtesy of the owner's chickens. Covered parking spot. If you prefer a countryside stay to the "hustle/bustle" (relatively speaking, of course) and sprawl of Hilo, this is the right spot for you. 100% would stay again. Thank you!

Amazing stay! Best hosts we’ve ever had.
We enjoyed this rental so much. It was clean, beautiful, organized and had all the details that make a stay extra enjoyable. The kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room were all well stocked, the beds and bedding were very comfortable, the yard was gorgeous, the view was spectacular, and the ease of getting in and out of the gated property was the cherry on top. The hosts were super welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we had a good experience. They were the best hosts we’ve ever had. We would definitely book again.

Hamakua delight
What a delightful stay we had in our beautifully appointed clean as a whistle VRBO on the Hamakua coast of the big island. It had absolutely everything one would need and then some (thoughtful sleep masks). Large refrigerator, washer and dryer, extremely well equipped. The fresh fruit and fresh eggs in the fridge was just a great touch. All this and the adorable unobtrusive little pets and chickens made this a perfect stay Big Mahalo to Dan and Mollie, great hosts

My husband and I are originally from Minnesota but found our home in Ninole 8 years ago. We spent years turning our small piece of jungle into a comfortable and peaceful home.
One of the things we love is the beautiful views and proximity to the water.

We love living here and want to share our slice of paradise with vacationers.

Why they chose this property

Our tiny neighborhood is quiet and calm. There are just two other homes near us.

What makes this property unique

Our property is on the Hamakua coast is known for lush tropical rainforest, waterfalls and green valleys. Our place borders a waterfall and year round stream. After a nice rain you can hear the water flowing from everywhere on the property. We also enjoy amazing ocean views. Our neighborhood has towering mango trees that have been here for over 100 years. It's a truly magical place to call home.
