Panhandle Getaways furnishes a few essential items for guests to utilize until they can get to the grocery store. Initial Supplies include: Dishwasher soap, small washing machine powder, each bathroom has amenities (like hotel but NOT restocked) shampoo, conditioner, soap bar. One roll of toilet paper in each bathroom & one paper towel roll in the kitchen. All bed linens & towels are provided. We encourage guests to bring beach towels for use at the pool and beach.

Disappointing stay

The cleanliness of the house was lacking and there were bugs. The dryer did not work and was not repaired during our stay. We ran out of towels and had to have them delivered daily. Overall a disappointing stay.

Family Trip

The property was the perfect layout for us!! Only had an issue with the a/c upstairs in main house.it kept not working and it got very hot upstairs which is where the bedrooms are so sleeping wasn't ideal. They sent a few people out to fix it while we were there for the week. It wasn't kept unusually low and we kept all windows and doors shut it never "froze" up just the outside unit kept failing. They could never get it all the way fixed so I believe there were only 2 full nights of functioning A/C upstairs. Hopefully they will be replaced soon. Oh and the dryer didn't work which was an issue when staying for the full week also we needed to wash and DRY things for the kids! They never fixed that at all while we were there. The pool was great and we got it heated which was nice bc we had some rain. The public beach access that is closest to the house does have limited beach space due to condos "private beach". I think we may look for another property if we all head back!

Lots of Potential

Overall we enjoyed our stay but the property has some room for improvements that would make it amazing! The pool seemed to have a leak and we had to add water daily and the drain cover was missing which is quite dangerous. The patio and screened in porch is a great space for hanging out. The carriage house is over a garage and the stairs to get up to it are in need of repair. The left side has visible detached nails. Once inside, it’s a nice space for a couple however it could use a dehumidifier as it has some mold or mildew growing in the bathroom. The shower curtains also need replaced. It has a kitchenette, but no table to eat at. The main house had a similar issue with musky smell. The checkout instructions ask guests to run the dishwasher but we found multiple dirty dishes in the cabinets. We found the induction stove difficult to use but it seemed to work properly once we got the hang of it. All the area rugs in both living spaces need replaced as well as several pillows that were just very dirty. We were pleased to find that a pack and play and highchair were at the house since this was not in the listing. Our group had already brought our own. The property is walkable to the beach but the section of the beach straight down the beach has a very tiny public area. We had to get there at 5:30 in the morning to secure a spot. There were other public areas a couple blocks didn’t the street but I would plan on renting a golf cart if you rent this property.

Inaccurate Listing

The house was very nice and the accommodations fit our needs for the most part. It was clean and the location was great. We like to cook and struggled due to only 2 random pots available..And we found out after trying to get the stove to work for 2 days that these were the only pots that would work on the stove. The other skillet we kept trying to use would not work. We were not told it would only work with the 2 special pots due to being a convection range top. The original listing also stated that a golf cart was included. It was not until the week before when I reached out to confirm the size of the golf cart that we were informed the owners has removed this from the listing and it was no longer available. Had we not reached out we would had shown up expecting this. So then we had to scramble to find a golf cart and of course paid more due to the fact of our arrival being less than a week at that point. Was also told in the original listing that the pool would be heated and not extra fee. This apparently also changed and I had to work with the property manager to still get the pool heated but at no additional charge to honor the original posting. The pool was heated upon our arrival but the next day it slowly starting cooling off. I contacted the property manager and was told this was normal to feel cooler with the warmer temperature out. However, it continued to cool off and was freezing for the next 2 days until someone could come look at it.
