House was wonderful! Plenty of room for the 10 of us. Area is very nice and easy to be able to get to restaurants, stores and gas stations. Would stay here again 😃
This property is in an amazing location....just a few blocks from the lake! We were disappointed that we could not get the air conditioning to work. It would be nice if it had a dishwasher.
Overall, we had a great time!
We had a great time and were very happy! There were a lot of things at our disposal and Crystal Lake just up the street. Walking to Beulah and the beach was fantastic. We spent time both outside and inside. We played games, took walks, roasted s’mores and went swimming. The one downfall that I would mention is that it listed as air conditioned and the two units that are in the home feel more like a low fan that cool air conditioning. The main floor and upstairs were quite hot on those July days!
Overall we had a great time!
My husband and I (and now our children) have been vacationing in the Beulah and Sleeping Bear Dunes area for the past 30 years. We’ve camped, stayed in hotels, and rented houses/cottages. Beulah is the perfect small summer town. This house was close to the beach and downtown restaurants. It’s also a close commute to other destinations (Traverse City etc). The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. However, we were strongly disappointed that the air conditioning wasn’t cooling anything so we had the windows open but there was no air movement. We had to go buy fans and the house temp was 80+ degrees with humidity throughout our stay. Of note, there is no dishwasher or grill on site. I think this could be a great spring or fall rental but too hot for us when it’s hot and humid.
We rent in this area every summer and we were very happy with our stay in this charming old farmhouse. Here is a list of some of the reasons we enjoyed our stay: the house was clean and tastefully decorated, there's plenty of room for everyone to spread out, the fenced in yard was so nice for our labradoodle, the upper deck is a great place to spend mornings and evenings--beautiful view of the sunset over the lake (just keep an eye on little ones while on the deck and stairs), perfect location to walk or bike the short few blocks to interesting little shops, antique store, lake, public dock, small beach and playground, brewery, and the bagel shop (a MUST!). You could spend your whole stay just walking or biking to these places and have a nice getaway, but it is also centrally located to make quick drives to Lake Michigan, the Sleeping Bear Dunes, and many other enjoyable little beach towns. Traverse City is only about 40 minutes away. The only suggestion I might make is to bring a few fans to help keep the air moving a little more and a portable grill as there was not one at the house. We were very happy here, had a great time, and would definitely consider renting it again. Thank you to the host for the hospitality!
