Awesome beachside stay

Loved this condo and the entire property. Comfy bed, couch and outdoor seating. Just a quick walk down the stairs and out the walkway to the beach. I enjoyed seeing all of the wildlife around the area. Steve the host is an excellent communicator.

Love the beach view!

The condo was ready on time, clean and tidy. While things are a bit dated, they have been well cared for and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed and all the appliances function. The bed was very comfortable. The best feature is the the unobstructed view of the beach. We sat on the porch and watched the waves and at night we watched the stars. The hosts were attentive and easy to reach. I hope we have the opportunity to come back again.

Excellent Stay

I can offer my unconditional positive recommendation for this property and the hosts. I stayed 11 days visiting friends in the area. The unit was clean, comfortable and met all of my needs. While I didn't have much need to communicate with the hosts when I did they responded immediately. Instructions were timely and helpful. They even contacted me to let me know of a space launch which I greatly appreciated. This unit isn't large - I think it best serves 1-3 people. The view from the balcony is awesome. I so enjoyed having morning coffee watching the sun rise over the ocean. Spectacular. I thought the entire property was well kept - including the pool area. So, in summary, every aspect of my stay went smoothly and met with my expectations. Should I visit the St. Augustine area in the future I would gladly stay in this unit again. Absolutely. Steve and Janet, thanks again!!

The location was great. There are not many people on the beach at this location. It was easy access to the beach. The condo needs an update. It is small but perfect for two people. It was clean just outdated.

Winter getaway

I found the unit to be alittle outdated but that being said price and responsiveness clearly made up for it. The WiFi and bedroom tv were a challenge but if the weather had cooperated it wouldn’t have mattered. The unit owners were always quick to respond and even went out of their way to alert us to a rocket launch that could be seen from our porch. Overall I give this vacation a 5 and looking forward to next years return.

Great Place

Beachfront for the price we paid was great. The place was perfect for two people and had most of the necessities - my wife bought washclothes which we brought home. A working oven might be nice but hey - it was a vacation - who wants to use the oven!

Wake up to a "million dollar view"

Steve & Janet are more than just renting an apartment, they really care. Everything was clean and just as expected. Condo has all that you need for a nice vacation. Nice towels and lots of them, even beach towels. Building is concrete so it's quiet. Great location for everything. AAA+++

Get rid of the clutter

Pool/beach 5 stars the condo was a dump remove the picture with the stove that has no working oven there’s a toaster oven not one of quality and the only place to put it is the only working space off the kitchen and by the way that is crap the refrigerator was a rock star however way to big for such a small space this is true off all the furniture I live in a cabin with less square footage it doesn’t have to be so cluttered my porch is twice the size of yours I have half the furniture no plugs in the bedroom and no space on the dressers due to oversized lamps mattresses was okay the blanket was sprayed down with frebreeze or something reminiscent off a cheep hotel the toilet was so low I felt like I was in elementary school the worst bathroom of all the places we have rented with this company who the hell has 17 coffee cups when they have no cabinets have a giant microwave not one microwaveable bowl not one bowl big enough to make a salad would I go back most likely my brother is buying a unit the pool is the best clean and well maintained the ocean view is breathtaking this condo has so much potential we did have a flood from upstairs as maybe you noticed your ceiling got wrecked we cleaned up and ran your dehumidifier

Holiday week at the beach

This condo was perfect for me to stay at the beach, while spending time with my family. Beautiful view of the ocean from living room. Easy beach access. Comfortable lodging. Owner was quick to respond to questions. Check in was easy. Condo was secure. Elevator. Easy parking.

Comfy, cozy with an amazing view!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The condo was very clean and well maintained. It’s very small, which adds to the comfort, coziness, and relaxation factor. It is perfect for a couple. If you have more people, you may find find it a bit small. The view is amazing, and proximity to the beach couldn’t be better. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Probably will!

Beautiful sunrises

we had an excellent stay. Property was perfect for the two of us. The bed was very comfortable, had enough kitchen equipment and took advantage of the little beach pail on daily beach walk. Found some great seashells and just relaxed. It was quiet, the beach wasn't crowded. One tip, the lobby has coins for the washer and drier. Will definitely rebook. Thanks Smith family.

Cozy condo with amazing views!

We traveled with our 2-year-old and had a great beach getaway! Unit is close to the pool and boardwalk, yet you don’t hear any of the pool noise from the condo. It was within walking distance of several restaurants. The kitchen is a bit on the smaller side, but I don’t imagine people come to St. Augustine to stay in and cook. We got up twice to watch the sunrise over the ocean...I’d definitely give the view a 10! We hope to stay again!

Great hosts, condo in need of cleaning

Let me start by saying the hosts for this property were so kind. From booking to checkout, they were responsive and helpful. Their restaurant recommendations were spot on as well. We stayed at the condo for five nights with our infant child and shepherd mix dog, so I know the cleaning afterward was rough (our dog sheds a lot!). They didn't blink an eye or tell us we couldn't bring our dog. We had a very relaxing time. The condo did look like the pictures, and the views off the balcony were superb. The air conditioning ran great the entire time. The oven/stove/fridge all worked perfectly as well. Beach toys= awesome. That said, there were a few areas of the condo that were pretty dirty. The white towels in the bathroom had long, black hairs on them when we arrived. I know the towels were clean because they smelled fresh and almost bleach-like, but the hairs were off-putting. I know a previous reviewer mentioned long, black hairs and I wrote it off because no one else mentioned them, but I counted probably five or six. Eventually I just gathered up some towels and beach towels and rewashed them. The kitchen also had a few areas that were dirty. 1) I pulled a paper bowl out of the stack in the cabinet and it was crusted with some type of yellow food. Like someone had eaten out of it and put it back. 2) Under the convection oven were crumbs, and when I went to clean under there to prevent ants I found a bottle cap as well. 3) the freezer was not clean, and there was a long, black hair there as well. The porch furniture smelled like it had been in a smoker's home. Nothing inside smelled like smoke, so I'm guessing the furniture was used, or the people who smoked on the first floor did so often enough that the wood had taken on the smell. It was strong enough that I didn't enjoy sitting out there the first day or so. We purchased a delicious-smelling candle that we burned inside and out the rest of our stay, and that helped the smell. We also purchased a bottle of disinfecting spray to use anywhere our baby would be and on the kitchen counters. Of lesser importance was the fact that there was dust on quite a few surfaces, such as the shelf above the coffee maker. I know these things sound nitpicky, and perhaps they are. We have a house cleaner at home, and if our cleaner missed the details I described here she would be replaced. So my recommendation would be to hire a new cleaner and to have the condo deep-cleaned at least once a season.

Crescent Beach is wonderful

If you're looking for a clean and family friendly place to stay, just seconds from the beach, away from all the craziness that is St. Augustine Beach, then this is for you. Steve was a great, super quick to reply...the unit has most everything you will need. Is it small? Yes. I would recommend three people max (four if you have small children). Crescent Beach, while 5-10 minutes from St. Augustine Beach and 15-20 minutes from downtown, feels so much different than those other areas. The beach isn't crowded...you have room to breathe...if you have a four-wheel drive, for $10 you can drive on the beach and if you head about a mile south, you'll pretty much have your own beach.

Beacher's Lodge as our own, personal vacation dream getaway. After 2 years on the rental program we decided to offer our close friends and those we met at Beacher's, an opportunity to share in what we thought was a gem in Crescent Beach. We have some guests that we have had coming to our unit for over 19 years now that we decided to share our getaway with others. We have many great, written reviews and it makes us happy that we can offer some others the same as we enjoy. We recommend no more than 2 adults as the unit is "tight".
Janet and I were married in 1995 and this was our first purchase together. We have seen to it that all of our guest have been supplied with all their needs, from special requests to the everyday need that may have been forgotten.
Janet and I are avid travelers and have counted more that 50 cruises that we have been on. So ,we understand the need for comfort in a somewhat confining space as a condo can be. That is why we are constantly adding simple amenities that will make your stay a happy and memorable one. Any and all comments are welcome, if we are booked on the dates that you absolutely have to have, we have some great references at Beacher's Lodge, that we can recommend. Janet and I are currently retired and live in Jacksonville, FL only an hour away. We only ask that you treat yourself to some relaxation and we are only a call away if you need some information or have additional needs. 'Leave it like you found it.' is a often used term that we like to use. Not to worry about the small things. We always make sure that your rooms will be fresh and clean. We want to have you back again and again.

Why they chose this property

Steve first found Beacher's Lodge while working in his Own Business installing Cable TV in new construction. He saw how well Beacher's Lodge was constructed when compared to other new oceanfront condos being constructed at the same time back in the mid 1980's. Beacher's is close to the ocean, however, are protected by a double set of sand dunes. The dunes are well established and contain a variety of natural species such as rabbit, gopher turtles, varied reptiles and bird life. Being on the second floor gives one a close, yet protected view of the daily habitat in it's natural state. Views from the first floors can be obstructed and are not entirely private. Also, being on the second floor affords the opportunity to be close to the dunes and wildlife, without the wildlife becoming uninvited guests, during the evening, when you like to hear the sound of the ocean with only the screen door separating you from it. The pool is heated for winter and is the perfect place to be during sunny summer days. New chairs, tables and umbrella for the pool area makes for a comfortable and relaxing day. All accesses are protected by gate at the pool and gate to the beach, which you must have a code to exit and enter. The new boardwalk to the beach from the pool area is handicap friendly and lit at night. Making for day or night trips to the shoreline. The view from the balcony of the unit is one of the best vantage points of Crescent Beach. You can literally see the entire coastline of 9 miles. Night time it is beautiful with the city lights far enough away to see the stars, yet close enough to make out the Lighthouse sweeps and St Augustine Pier lights. Perfect for meteor showers or stargazers.
With all the comforts of home, an Ancient City waiting for discovery, Marineland and all the memories that can be packed into a camera and your memories. This is the Place.

We have made sure that the latest technology is available, should you need it. We recommend our unit to couples, as it is not large enough for a family of more than four. We have tried to anticipate any want that you might have and left enough to the imagination to make you want to go out and discover your next dream vacation. Every day at Beacher's Lodge is a great day to be at the Beach. The beach has a public park and draws a nice crowd during the peak periods. You can also drive on the beach, permit needed, park and enjoy that aspect of beaching it. It is recommended that you have 4 wheel drive. Since Beacher's Lodge is a Condo/Hotel you as a guest enjoy all the benefits of any guest and must also abide by guest regulations, as posted.
With so much to do in a close proximity, you'll want to come back, again and again. Every day is a new adventure in St Augustine, Florida
