Cottage is currently rented for the year, and not available until further notice
You'll be staying in a cottage located on the backside of a larger old family home property. There is one tenant in the larger adjacent house at the moment. If you are interested in accessing the larger property for bigger groups, feel free to let me know. The property was built in the early 1900's by my great grandfather around an old 1802 farm house.
The cottage you'll stay in has two levels and hangs over a hillside. The lower level spills out into an old garden that has since become overgrown. Beautiful cedar trees give the deck and garden a northwestern US vibe, especially on a snowy morning.

Overall I think the property is beautiful, the camp is rustic with excellent old school New England vibes! Communication with the owner was excellent.
The pond is really wonderful and private and I spent much time there kayaking, swimming and floating about. But again many use this property so even there others were coming and using the dock.
The price the location were huge selling points!
They are new to the rental market and could have set the expectations up within the listing a little more. I had been under the impression there was only 1 person in the main house but there were many. It made the check in a bit awkward because there were cars and people in the driveway and I didn’t know where to go or park so I left and came back after speaking to the owner. The main house is incredibly close to the rental And with so many people there you could hear conversations and they were often outside the door to go in the rental and didn’t really engage so it felt a bit awkward coming and going. There is a second entrance, stairs going down but both times I wanted to use them there were people there a woman and a baby sitting there and a second time a young boy playing.
Not really accessible for people with disabilities or elderly, steep stairs.
Linens specifically for the rental should be considered, and add directions for trash disposal.
But all of these things were okay, I would return, I personally would have enjoyed a more private access to the rental.
