Have you ever dreamed of sharing your morning coffee with Bigfoot? Well, dream no more! Our 6-bedroom, 3-bathroom vacation rental on 10 acres of prime Redwood forest, complete with a private pond and paddle boat, is the perfect escape for adventurers, nature lovers, and Bigfoot enthusiasts alike. This home will be your friend and family's next return-to Redwood getaway!

Inside:
Nestled among the towering giants of the ancient Redwood forest, this spacious retreat has 6 cozy bedrooms (1 King suite, 1 King Bedroom, 2 Queen rooms, 1 double room, and 1 room with 3 twins) and 3 full bathrooms to accommodate your entire Bigfoot-spotting squad. There are several living and playing areas throughout the home with an open concept kitchen, dining and living room in the front with plenty of seating, flat screen console, puzzles, books and cozy wood fire place, to the large TV/movie room and spacious game room in the back with foosball, pingpong, basket and more! The fully equipped kitchen is ready for whipping up snacks and meals to keep your energy up for Redwood adventures. The kitchen is fully outfitted with a large stainless steel prep area, counter space, fridge/freezer, gas range and oven, microwave, toaster oven, cooking utensils, pots and pans as well as dining ware for your whole group.

Outside:
In the back there is a large covered patio and uncovered deck for those sunny Humboldt days. The yard is complete with a large propane BBQ, outdoor dining space, herb and flower garden, intimate propane fire-pit and a large fire pit ring (not available for use in summer months due to wildfire danger) ideal for sharing stories and Bigfoot theories under the starlit Redwood canopy. Around the home you'll find 10 acres of private Redwood forest at your doorstep! A short walk through the forest brings you to our private 1 acre pond, yes, there is paddle boat available for use as well as fishing rods for the kids in the garage, or simply sit on the bank and listen to the sounds of Bigfoot and friends in the forest.

Things to know:
-Rural & secluded location, 20 minutes to Arcata, 10 minutes to nearest gas and grocery.
-Cell signal can be spotty depending on carrier, there are landlines available for use at the home.
-No additional guests permitted for events or parties other than listed in contract.
-Fire pit and fireplace not available for use in summer months due to high risk of wildfire danger
-1 acre pond on property with paddleboat
-Coffee maker has both grounds or Keurig pod capabilities
-Washer & dryer inside house
-2 dog max
-High Speed Wifi

Best Reunion Ever

This property was amazing! It fit our family reunion perfectly. There was plenty of space to spread out. The game room was a hit as well as the kitchen as we could find everything we needed. It is truly a hidden treasure.

Amazing family rental house!

This house has absolutely everything a large family needs for a great vacation! Beautiful, clean, lots of “toys” & a breathtaking wooded trail that leads to a private pond. Property manager Chris was so kind & helpful. Close to the beach & great shopping. Something for everybody. Can’t wait to come back!

Exploring Northern California

Nicely furnished, large home for family and friends retreat. It’s tucked in the woods and has a steep driveway but it’s close to the coastal towns of Trinidad and Arcata for daytime adventures. The games room is lots of fun. We chose it because it was big with lots of large bedrooms and it was dog friendly. The only negatives are that the heating system is noisy and the kids complained that the three single beds squeaked and kept them awake. The bedding is very nice and one of our group members loves the pillows so much she’s going to search for the same brand when she gets home. All-in-all a great property.

A wonderful peace for a large gathering

Great, modern, huge house for a big group stay in the Redwoods. Very clean and tidy. You could easily spend an entire vacation just at the house, there is so much to do there! If using Google maps, note that the directions are incorrect and you may get lost. Do not turn on Grassy Creek Ln as the directions say, go to the next road which is where the property is. From there, follow the marked signs and you'll have no trouble finding it.

Redwoods

The house was great. We had 14 humans and 3 dogs at bigfoots hideaway and we had a great time. The place is ideal for dogs. There are no neighbors that can be seen from the house so the dogs are free to be dogs. Its close enough to everything you need and everywhere you to want to see on a redwood vacation in my opinion. We also made it down the road to the casino in Blue Lake where i thought the dealers were exceptionally nice.

Wedding

We came for a wedding in the Blue Lake area. It suited our needs. Wish we could have stayed a little longer and used more of the amenities the place had to offer, such as barbecuing and more games. But everyone found something to keep them occupied. Hopefully we can come back.

Redwood hideaway

My family and I were absolutely in love with this house. It was so spacious, had everything we needed, and the best part was how secluded and beautiful it was. I felt safe, letting my children and dogs play outside. The herb garden was such a nice touch. The owner even left wood for us for the wood-burning fireplace. Everyone had their own space and there was so much room when we came together. That area was remote but easy to get to with satellite. GPS. The kitchen was fully stocked and we had everything we needed for our meals. The property is not far from a little grocery store for quick runs . I would say the landscape of this home was one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. I would recommend this home to anyone.

Absolutely perfect

We drove to California all the way from New York State with our puppies to get married in the redwood national forest. Our friends and family met us there and it was the absolute perfect space and layout for our home base. Every little detail of the home is great, a lot of thought was put into it. It is in quite a remote location but not too far from the parks

50th Anniversary Celebration

We had the most wonderful stay at Bigfoot’s Hideaway. We were a large group of adults and children from Florida celebrating my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary. From the decor, to the layout, to the game room, we just loved everything about this house! There were so many things to do and enjoy in and around the property and the house was perfectly situated for us to explore the Redwoods and the west coast. We highly recommend this property and would love to come back some day!

Clean, Stocked and Beautiful!

We loved how well maintained and clean this home was. The duvets and comforters smelled fresh and clean. The Kitchen was well equipped and had plenty of Plastic containers for us to store leftovers away! The property was beautiful! The gas grill and the gas fire pit was so nice! The kids still got the opportunity to toast marshmallows despite the fire ban.

Incredible retreat in a park like setting

Home was way more then expected. Beautiful park line setting in the redwoods with a lake and home had everything you needed and so much more. Our family grew up in McKinleyville and all moved away years ago; when we needed a last minute place to stay couldn’t believe our luck finding this home big enough to accommodate 3 families and allowed dogs to boot. The house was spacious and comfortable; the decor couldn’t have been more perfect; everyone enjoyed the activities in the game room and exploring the incredibly gorgeous property. This was my first time renting an entire vacation home and I couldn’t have been more pleased with how it turned out. Thank you soooo much for sharing your amazing home with us.

Beautiful home & setting

Home had everything you’d need; there were plenty game & activity options for both kids & adults, a fully stocked kitchen, plenty of space, and comfortable beds. The outside space was also beautiful, with lots of seating and activity options. A favorite was taking fishing poles to the pond and fishing off the paddle boat. Highly recommend this home.

Absolutely amazing property!

We have been staying in many vacation rental homes over the past 15 years and this property is a true gem….. even better than the pictures! The welcoming home is immaculate and very well appointed. Everything you might need from the superbly equipped kitchen to games galore for the whole family (including ping pong and more in the garage) to an easy walk through the redwoods to a pond complete with a pedal boat. And, even though you feel quiet solitude while at the home, the location give easy access to all of the attractions in the area. There was plenty of room for our family of 9 and all the beds were very comfortable. Check in/out was very easy. And, best of all, the Bigfoot footprints in the dirt on our walk to the pond were a huge mystery for our grandkids! Thanks for sharing this terrific property.

Jewel in the Woods

Our extended family including 5 adults and 4 teenagers spent a week at the house in July. This was our base of operations for exploring the area to the north, west, and south. The location was perfect as it was easy to access tons of outdoor adventures within an hour drive. Meanwhile, we retreated every evening to our private oasis in the woods. The well-appointed house is filled with amenities including a chef’s kitchen with plenty of pots, pans, utensils, etc. A game room fills the garage with ping pong, foosball and basketball. A small pond in the backyard features a paddle boat in a small pond that also permits fishing (with polls available in the garage). The two living rooms offer TVs from Group` viewing while a third space allows for quiet lounging. Screened windows that are easy to open allowed us to let in cool air, which made the house flow from outdoors to indoors. The house was immaculate - crisp sheets, shower curtains, towels, etc — it seemed as if everything was brand new. We considered the visit to the Redwoods to be a one-in-a-lifetime visit, but this house was so perfect that we are already talking about a return.

Serene Retreat in Beautiful setting

We absolutely loved our long weekend in this beautiful home!!! The property is stunning with amazing old growth tree stumps hidden like little gems throughout the woods! It was so serene! The inside of the home is set up so perfectly for a group! Everything including the decor and coffee station to the game room and front relaxation room could not have been more perfect!! Such creative ideas to make this house feel like a welcoming home!! I would highly recommend a getaway here!!

Beautiful Home

We loved this house. It was everything we were promised and more. So beautiful and quiet we really felt all alone in the woods. It also had some unexpected fun with the herb garden and pond. We also had excellent help from Corinne and the site manager who came to the house to assist us with the fireplace. I would book with Vacasa again direct. It was a wonderful weekend and everyone there had so much room and fun.
