Our spacious and light home is an oasis in busy Amsterdam. Plenty of space (225m2) over four floors to relax, to cook, have meals, and plan the next day in town. Shops, markets, restaurants and bars all at walking distance (and all open again!) in this cosy corner of the city. Excellent house for families or colleagues (we don't rent to groups of friends - sorry). Obviously, the house will be cleaned thoroughly before you move in.
This 100 year old townhouse with garden is in the east of Amsterdam and has 225 m2. There are 2 double beds and 5 single beds, and three bathrooms.
We have kept the characteristics of this beautiful old house intact, but renovated it in such a way that it is spacious, modern and practical. Fifteen minutes from the centre by bike or tram. Tram 19 stops at a 4 minute walk from our house.
At the ground floor, you'll find a well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, espresso machine and boiling water system. Here you will also find a large dining table and a cosy sitting area. In the summer you can sit on the spacious balcony. In the winter you can light a fire in our Finnish wood burner. Woodblocks available. Upstairs is a large sitting area with TV and another fireplace. The house has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, plus a sports room, balconies and a garden. The ceilings are high, and the stairs are steep!
The house is equipped with high speed wireless internet and we have a Sonos System, which works with your Spotify or other online streaming music account. We also have a Wii for the kids, and plenty of other toys and games.
Washing/drying machine. Bedlinen and towels provided.
You can walk to restaurant such as Merkelbach, de Kas and La Vallade. The Artis Zoo is ten minutes away. A daily market - 'Dappermarkt' - and the Tropical Museum are literally around the corner. We have great neighbours, a local supermarket and delicatessen shops in our street. A village atmosphere, yet not far from all that Amsterdam has to offer.
It is advisable to use bikes or the excellent public transportation in Amsterdam. If you prefer to have your car in front of the house, parking is not a problem in our neighborhood. A day ticket costs 35 euro, and there is a underground parking nearby where you can park for 18 euro per day. Sundays and bank holidays free parking.
We will give you plenty of information on what to do & see in this city and will do our best to make you feel at home here.
There is a closed study in the basement in which we keep our personal stuff.
Although we perfectly understand the allure of Amsterdam to groups of friends, we only rent to families. We live in a great neighbourhood, and value the relationship with our neighbours very much... So, parents, grandparents, children, be very welcome!
