About this property
Eco Friendly Treehouse Retreat
Discover our one-of-a-kind 4-story treehouse nestled on 37 acres. Hike scenic trails through the forest and find a fully equipped kitchen and bath on the 1st floor. The 2nd floor bedroom offers a comfy hideaway amongst the trees. The real gems are the 3rd and 4th-floor decks with panoramic views spanning 40+ square miles of hills & valleys. Catch mesmerizing sunrises and sunsets and falling stars! The treehouse uses 100% rainwater and some solar power for an eco friendly experience.
***Note*** The staircase is located outside. You'll be walking on a covered stairway to get from downstairs to upstairs.
Welcome to Our Sustainable Treehouse::
Discover our 4 story eco-friendly treehouse fully designed and built by hosts Marlena and Eugene. Enjoy a bottom floor kitchen and bathroom and sunroom, 2nd floor bedroom, 3rd and 4th floor rooftop decks, fire pit and loop trail through the forest. Although there will be no retreats or events happening during your stay, the treehouse is within 100 feet of our retreat center and separated by a privacy fence.
**Note for 2024 Eclipse**: While the treehouse is its own private listing, it is within close distance to our event center, where there will be 13+ other eclipse enthusiasts staying and camping. While we will strictly enforce quiet hours, if you're outside the treehouse, there's a high chance of hearing voices and laughter and, if you're looking, seeing others.
Ideal Location:::
Only 6 miles from Blanco town square with antique shops, breweries, coffee shops, and restaurants. River Run swim spot en route. Within an hour, reach Canyon Lake, Blanco State Park, San Marcos, Blue Hole, wineries, Enchanted Rock, or day trip to Austin/San Antonio.
Kitchen:::
The bottom floor kitchen has a 4 burner gas stove with oven, fridge, sink, and dining area. The sink water is filtered and safe for drinking and cooking. We're on rainwater collection so please conserve. French Press, water kettle, coffee, tea, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, etc. salt & pepper/cooking oil, sugar and cream provided. Propane (provided) grill and fire pit outside (bring firewood.) The attached screened in sunroom is an amazing morning sit spot.
Bathroom:::
The bottom floor bathroom has a flushing toilet, sink, and rainwater shower. We provide shampoo/conditioner/body wash/towels/washcloths/toilet paper.
Bedroom::
The 2nd story bedroom is accessed by outside stairs (we do provide large umbrellas, for rainy days) and has a new and comfortable queen bed (linens provided) with a mini split AC/heater (installed April 2024) and wood burning stove. There are 5 openable, screened in windows and a small closet with shelves.
Connectivity:::
While there's limited cell service down at the shared gate/driveway, there is good cell service at the treehouse. No wifi at all.
Outdoor Experience:::
Screened in sunroom, rooftop deck with 40+ square miles of gorgeous hill country views, 2 hammocks for relaxation, fire pit with benches, small table for outdoor dining. Forested 1/2 mile loop trail. No fires during burn-ban. You must respect any private signs, as we have 2 other rentals on our property. More details inside the treehouse notebook.
Note on Pets:::
No pets allowed. Check out our Airstream listing if you're traveling with pets!
Wildlife and Surroundings:::
Expect Texas critters, wear suitable shoes. Occasional hunting sounds from neighbors during hunting season.
Local Attractions:::
15-20 mins to Blanco town square: Oro Bianco water buffalo dairy, brewery, antique shops, restaurants. Fredericksburg wineries, Enchanted Rock hiking, Hamilton Pool, Pedernales Falls State Park for day trips. Find more local recommendations in the treehouse notebook!
