Although clearly an older home, the property was clean and with appropriate updates. Bathroom was a tad compact, but the bed more than made up for it. Location was perfect.
We were up for a family reunion. The location was easy to walk to stores and restaurants. Everything was comfortable. Host had everything ready and check in and check out was easy.
I stayed with my family and dog whike we visited corning for a family funeral. This house was a perfect solution for our family stay. We had a clean home in a quite neighborhood. We loved it! Definitely will be a place to come back to again.
Quiet neighborhood close to walking downtown. House was clean inside but was a bit dated with electrical and shag carpets. Furniture was clean. Laundry a plus. Would recommend.
Nice old house. Interior kept to modern standards. Outdoor walkways need some repair, but usable. Very close to downtown area (Market St.). We were pleasantly surprised to see the Harvest Festival that weekend.
Not only was this a great location, but the owner made sure the paths were shoveled and salted the entire stay (both front and back!) which was above and beyond. The cottage was clean and well appointed. We had everything we needed for our stay and enjoyed the ease of access to all of the restaurants, museums, and stores.
This is a lovely older home. We enjoyed our 5 day stay visiting friends.
Please provide information about trash pickup. Previous tenants could have used it also.
All in all it was a good trip. Thank you!
The house was very clean, the neighborhood was quiet, and we had what we needed for a two-night stay with a teen and dog. There's a back door that's convenient for taking the dog in and out (the little conveniences mean a lot when traveling with a pet!). Its location is also really convenient to head to Wegmans for supplies as well as to Market St. and the museums. We'd recommend it and would definitely stay there again!
As advertised and the house was neat and clean but it was very cold though heat seemed to be working. Should look into better insulation of doors and windows. Not enough furniture in the living room to accommodate 6 people. Dining room chairs need to be tightened. They feel as though they might fall apart. Beds are very firm.
The property was very clean and welcoming. There were snacks on the kitchen counter, which was a nice surprise. Space was not an issue at all. The three bedrooms were big and had comfortable beds. Would stay again!
House had everything we needed. Check in was easy and overall no issues. The places is older but updated and has some quirks but each room had AC and it was clean. Bathroom was a bit small but no issues. The stairs are a narrow which I think is common in older houses. Easy walk to Market street and short drive/walk to glass museum. About 30 minutes to Watkins Glenn.
We contacted the owner to let them know the coffee maker was not working just as an FYI and within an hour a new coffee maker was at the door -- very responsive. Large nice kitchen
We did not have pets but you could tell by the carpet that pets were there before. . It was very convenient to town --walkable
We greatly enjoyed our weekend stay in this house. We comfortably slept 5 people and had plenty of room to spare. We enjoyed cooking and lounging in the house, and had easy interactions with the hosts. The house is also very close to restaurants, local attractions, and shopping in Corning -- we were never more than 10 minutes away from where we wanted to go.
Still, I would love to see more artwork in the house, especially in the living room and bedrooms. And, although the house was clean, it would be my preference to have a deeper clean, especially in the kitchen. But, overall, our stay was excellent and I would recommend this home to anyone visiting Corning.
First and foremost it’s not the host’s fault that I am allergic to perfume, but when I told them that I absolutely couldn’t breathe in there, I was given a huge “oh well” shrug. So much air freshener I wondered if they were masking road kill. So heavy a scent I could taste it in the air. They said they could “air it out” but perfume doesn’t dissipate that fast. Frankly, they are under no obligation to provide a refund, but no sympathy was forthcoming. They wouldn’t even refund the cleaning fee. We didn’t stay there, so they didn’t have to clean it. Oh well! My bad. Buyer beware!!!!!!
