About this property

Soaker Tub & Sunset Sugarloaf Retreat

Perched in the solitude of nature, our ridge top retreat offers a picturesque view at one of the top elevations in all La Crosse County. Cozy up to your loved ones, relax with friends, or find inspiration in this one-of-a-kind private duplex. Sugarloaf is named after Sugarloaf Summit located 17 miles west of the retreat. Sugarloaf sleeps 4-5 and is non-smoking. Get your front row sunset seats on the private patio and relax in the soaker tub. Immerse yourself in tranquility and come stay us.

Sugarloaf is a luxury retreat with upcycled material including barn wood and tin. The 20+ acre property has 7 retreats along the same ridge-line and hiking trails throughout (Feel free to search on your computer High Point Retreats in Mindoro, WI for more information). This one-of-a-kind duplex is separated by an antique storage container and two garages, making for a private and secluded stay. This retreat even has a private overlook viewing deck with privacy wall. Fully stocked, this retreat includes all items amenities except groceries and toiletries. We do supply salt, pepper, select coffee, tea and hot cocoa for the Keurig, tinfoil, ziplock bags, pam spray, all-in-one and shampoo and body wash.

The retreat has a smart lock system that allows self check-in. Prior to your stay you will receive a 4-digit code for entry. Check-in time starts at 4pm and goes until 11pm. Please note limited help is available if issues arise during checkin after 9pm. Check-out time is no later than 10am. Sorry, we cannot accommodate late checkouts at this time.

This retreat has a large driveway, bathroom support bars, and an entry ramp to the retreat can be placed, if needed.

Wifi speed goes up to 20Mbps and can allow for streaming of a device. Property hiking trails are a combined approximate 1.5 miles and are looped trails. Trails access is fairly steep due to our elevation on the ridge, but upon entry the trails level out for a peaceful and beautiful experience in the driftless area.

Beautiful view!

The property had the most beautiful view. It was easy to get in, the place was clean. The heat and fireplace kept us warm. The kids took a short hike which they enjoyed. We would stay again.

Perfect!

We needed some quiet time to ourselves, and a High Point Retreat is the perfect place for solitude and relaxation. Sugar Loaf was a comfortable, home-y retreat….we could have just moved in and stayed forever!

A Little Piece of Heaven

Myself, and two very good friends booked the Sugarloaf Retreat for a weekend of rest, relaxation and fun. It was an AMAZING place! The view from the back deck and the covered gathering area by the trail head was beyond beautiful. The retreat was super clean with everything we needed in the kitchen to make our snacks and meals. The coffee was well-stocked and the entire house was truly so inviting and cozy! Plenty of towels and extra blankets for the cool weather. The beds and the living room couch were amazingly comfortable. Tim was fantastic to communicate with and offered an early check in when asked. We had an amazing time away and would most definitely come back again.

You’ve found the VRBO you’re looking for!

Book it now! Pulling into the driveway you get the feel of coziness and cleanliness. Walking in and seeing the valley from the window in your bedroom will make you stop in your tracks. The view is even better from the covered deck/balcony. There are so many great things to list about this VRBO. I feel the photos and description doesn’t do it justice!

Perfect Anniversary Getaway

The rental was exactly as described and depicted. Absolutely gorgeous view looking out towards the Mississippi River valley. Had a bit of a check-in snafu when the digital lock to enter the house didn't work, but Tim was quick to respond and we were able to enter the rental within about an hour.

Superb!

Stay here!!!! This place was beautiful, spotless, the absolute perfect size for the 3 of us and we felt calm and peaceful the entire time. The views are insane. Definitely stop for groceries on the way in because nothing is super close… and bring bug spray to make sitting on that gorgeous deck more tolerable after sundown. We biked on the Elroy Sparta Trail one day and enjoyed a cozy rain day with a puzzle and movies day 2. It was perfect
