About this property

Amazing Rustic Cabin Escape

This rustic retreat, with breath taking views, is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, in Wilkes County, North Carolina on a private mountain. The chalet style cabin is tucked away high up in a gated community, just 20 minutes from Boone, and is the perfect place to relax as well as enjoy local attractions.
The Community features a relaxing waterfall, picnic areas, small stocked pond with bluegill, redear, sunfish, largemouth bass and channel catfish ready for the fisherman's hook (catch and release please) as well as many hiking trails.

The cabin features include:
•Bears/Woodlands Themed Decor
•Sleeps 6
◦1 Queen Bed
◦1 Twin/Full Bunk bed
◦1 Queen pullout sofa
•2 full baths, with a large Jacuzzi tub in master bath
•Stone finished, gas log fireplace

•Satellite HD - Flat screen Smart TV in Living room area with DVD player, Master Bedroom Flat screen Smart TV with Satellite TV, Spare bedroom with Roku TV and PlayStation 2 (with DVD Movies and games)

Cleaning Fee of $100.00 per stay- NO DAILY MAID SERVICE

Pet Fee $125.00 (if you bring Fluffy or Fido... THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED ON FURNITURE!!!)

The Community is approximately 12 miles outside of Wilkesboro, and the cabin is 6 miles up the mountain on a paved road. During the warmer months all vehicles have easy access to the cabin, but an All-Wheel Drive / 4WD vehicle is helpful for winter months IF there is HEAVY snow for the safest travel.

Buck Mountain Community has some rules too. Dogs must be on leash when not on the premises and if unleashed at the cabin and outside, must respond to voice/hand recall they need to be leashed (for their safety from wildlife and that of the other residents and pets).

There is a Community Garbage Compactor, within the Buck Mountain Community, where guests are required to dispose of their own household trash.

NO Swimming/boating in the Pond or at Staghorn Falls water pooling area. (please mind other Community Posted signage and rules)

Know that this is a RUSTIC MOUNTAIN RETREAT- with all the beauty of nature that comes with the cabin, there are challenges and other gifts from mother nature. Storms can effect satellite TV and unexpected interruption to other utilities (ie. water is from a private well that can loose pressure, or have other issues, from time to time and cause a temporary loss of water service). Also natures little critters that tend to like to visit the cabin too…Lady Bugs usually present (due to Christmas Tree Farms in the area) as well as some other flying insect friends. Like most of the area, brown marmorated stink bugs can be a an issue. (As noted on many websites if you Google it for the mountains and other areas of NC. Google it) We do what we can, but this is part of what comes along with a property in the mountains.

If you have allergies (pet or environmental) this may not be the cabin for you, as we do allow pets - pollen and dust are impossible to keep out 100% even with routine cleaning.

Primary renter MUST be over 25 and onsite during the rental.
NO PARTIES, NO SPECIAL EVENTS
Visitors not listed on the rental agreement, must leave by midnight.
*Property has security cameras on the exterior to monitor entrance doors, driveway and inside basement to
Monitor pipes and utility equipment.

*The Property Owner Association will not allow Renters to utilize ATV/UTV/Dirt Bikes within community or trail system.

Payment accepted through the online "book it now" link.

Great Place for R and R

The view is great and we rarely heard anything more than birds and crickets . It feels like you're in the middle of nowhere, like you've gone back in time, and yet you're only 20 minutes from town. Great place and I hope to visit again soon.

Perfect getaway!!

The perfect weekend, or longer, getaway from the congestion of Charlotte. Perfect location between Wilkesboro and Boone. The dogs loved the big window and deck to watch the clouds and critters. We also loved the giant window to watch the BEAUTIFUL sunrise. Clean, well stocked, maintained, and beautiful home on the mountain. Can't wait to come back!

Tammy is a great host! The house was good for a family of 4. It takes some time to get on and off the mountain but if you plan to stay it's perfect. Seeing the baby deer was an added bonus!

Best view on Buck Mountain!

Beautiful house sits at the peak of Buck Mountain with stunning views. We could see 5 different fireworks displays on 4th of July. Owner was super helpful and prompt in all correspondence. Home had all the necessary amenities and it was well taken care of. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great views, remote location yet easily accessible. Great long range views and waterfall.

Buck Mountain is a great community. Easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Boone, though you may not want to leave the property. Tammy is a fantastic hostess, her communication is on point and every thing is as she says it will be. I will be back!

Awesome View and Peaceful Time

My sister, mother and I had a wonderful time at this cabin. We very much enjoyed the drive up the mountain to its location. The view was breathtaking! The kitchen was very nice and had everything we needed. Both bedrooms were comfortable and my mother loved the upstairs bathroom. The drive into Blowing Rock was not very long and it was a beautiful trip. I highly recommend this cabin .

Breathtaking views!!

This cabin was absolutely perfect for our family and allowed us to enjoy breathtaking views from the very moment we woke up each morning! Amenities were nice and updated while still maintaining a true cabin feel — great balance between the two. The owner was also fantastic to work with as she was not overbearing with rules as some others can be, just asking to respect the property and treat it as if it were our own. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us! These were treasured memories for our family!

Spectacular!

A very special place to visit. The home was exactly as described and we never left the community during our stay. The owner pays attention to the details and we benefited from her thoughtfulness. When visiting, be sure to take advantage of the community offerings and wonderful trail system along the creeks. Recommend without hesitation!

Amazing View

This cabin had everything you needed and more. The only improvement I would make is to purchase a gas/charcoal grill. The grill/firepit on site is suitable for s'mores, but difficult to grill on.

Cute cabin with beautiful views!

My family and I had a great long weekend at this cabin. It’s a very cute cabin with plenty of space for small family trip. The views are amazing off the large wrap around deck at all times of the day. The cabin is located up a long windy road in the community but it does offer nice privacy once you arrive. Only downside was that we went early October and the weather hadn’t turned cool just yet so the stinkbugs were out and about. My family and I would go back.

Amazing views from all areas of the home and great Community amenities for a ' remote getaway' in the mountains.

What makes this property unique

The home has a nice rustic cabin not completely 'polished' a exactly what most look for in a mountain retreat.
