Harbor Country is amazing. I fell in love with it 21 years ago and it’s been my second home ever since.

The house was very centrally located to fun things to do. It was clean and exactly as pictured. We enjoyed the screened in porch the most! The beds were comfy and the kitchen was well appointed. We never used it but the hot tub, fire pit and deck looked nice as well. Thank you!
Our family of 6 wanted a change of pace and a taste of Lake Life. Though on the 4-lane main road, Robin's Nest was set back beyond a white picket fence, and surrounded by nature. We were thankful for the provided wagon to get our beach items to and from lakeside. Though there's about a block of walking along the highway with no sidewalks, a quick turn and you're walking along the beach road.
The house was welcoming; clean and bright, with plenty of room to spread out. Screened in porch areas in front and back, an open deck with a hot tub and living room space gave us options, and we didn't feel like we were on top of each other!
We really enjoyed our stay.
We've been staying in UP for a week most summers for 25+ years and this has been my favorite rental! Large, wonderful screen porch with L shaped couch and large dining table. Ample seating in living room including another L shaped couch. Comfortable bed, etc. Great decor and lighting .Only downsides for us were hot tub wasn't working great (we didn't even contact owner about this) and there is some noise from Red Arrow Highway (didn't bother me but bothered my husband some). I'd most definitely stay here again!
Not fancy but perfectly comfortable for us and our two married children. It’s close to a busy road and train tracks but we weren’t particularly bothered by the noise. Lovely large back patio and lawn which our dog enjoyed greatly, and a large screen porch for outdoor dining. Not a gourmet kitchen but perfectly adequate for our needs. We didn’t even use the hot tub but we did make fires in the fire pit. It’s close to public beaches and there are several good restaurants nearby. We will probably be back next year.
The communication with Robin was wonderful and the house was perfect for our needs. I loved the additional little thoughts, including a lovely note from Colby. We will certainly consider this property when we visit again.
We really enjoyed our stay at Robin's Nest!! The weather was cool so we spent more time exploring the surrounding towns than at the beach. The beach is about a 10 minute walk - we walked early evenings. We visited Seedz brewery (dog friendly), Ghost Isle Brewery, drinks and live music at Union Pier Social on Friday night. Take a ride to New Buffalo to see the Lake Michigan yacht club - some amazing boats. Best shopping I thought was in Three Oaks - we also had lunch at Froehlich's and dinner drinks at Journeyman distillery - there is an actual 18 hole green with real grass - our young adult children thought it was really fun. Susan's and Sawyer Garden Center in Sawyer. Hot tub was a hit and used the solo campfire stove almost every night - this house was perfect for us and Robin was very helpful - thank you!!
Robin’s Nest was perfect for our group. We enjoyed the outdoor living space as much as the indoor space. The outdoor speaker system was a great addition! Close to a few restaurants and close to the beach access. If we didn’t want to leave, we didn’t have to since the property had everything we needed and was very private.
Our family of 3 enjoyed spending time on the screened in back porch, swing set and at the nearby beach! Kitchen had everything we needed, clean bathrooms and beds. Plenty of sitting areas to relax and unwind. We brought our bikes for quick trips to/from the beach. Groceries, shopping and hiking close by. All are feeling relaxed after our stay. Just what we needed!
This house was comfortable and clean. The distance to the beach was a little longer than we would have normally liked for walking, but no big deal. The good thing was that the nearest beach access didn't have stairs, made it a lot easier when carrying beach gear. The communication with the owner was also great at all times, very clear check in/check out instructions, all questions answered promptly. Overall, would definitely recommend this place!
This place was exactly as promised and more. Filled with generous touches. Play area for kids. Kitchen well stocked w good cookware and serving trays. Beautiful screened in porch where we spent so much time - eating, talking, playing games. Close to highway - which we knew - so heard street traffic but it never disrupted anyone. Our two families had a wonderful week!!
So many great things to say about this property. Great location.....walking distance to Union Pier and Barrien County beaches on Lake Michigan. Roomy house with open concept kitchen, dining, and family room. The screened in porch was a bonus area and quite lovely. Deck areas in front and in back of the house as well as a fenced in yard that was convenient for our dogs.
Everything was CLEAN and organized and roomy.
Robin's nest was perfect for our stay in Union Pier. There were 2 fabulous playgrounds for the kids and plenty of resting and conversation places inside and outside. We felt very connected with each other, but also able to have alone time as needed. The kitchen has everything you need for an awesome dinner.
There is a large front yard with outside furniture and a large playset. The backyard has a hot tub close to the house. There is a small swing set, a fire pit with lots of seating, and a nice hammock. The back porch has a large clean grill. The screened back porch is great for eating meals. There is a large table and chairs. The house is beautiful, clean, and well supplied.
Robin was amazing to work with and her home is lovely and tranquil. We stayed over the holiday weekend and loved being able to grill right at home. The screened in porch was absolutely amazing, beautiful home, and very close to many beaches and New Buffalo shops/walking. I would most certainly book with Robin again 😊
Robin was a wonderful host! The home is equipped as described and we LOVED the hot tub, hammocks, and large back screened in porch (and the extra fridge there!). The kitchen is well-equipped re: appliances, dishes, etc as well as salt/pepper/olive oil. We had a wonderful long girls' weekend for a brithday and it worked out perfectly. We were prepared and didn't mind the 10ish minute walk to the beach or being on the main highway and close to the train, but one should be aware that the property is not right on the beach and the train comes through about 1-2 times overnight.
Robin responded promptly to my inquiries. I did think the photos were taken awhile ago as the property seems to have aged. I also should have paid better attention to the square footage as I thought, based on the pictures, the inside space was larger. The front screened porch worked well to store bikes, beach bags, sandy shoes and the screened back porch was also a great space to hang out. The dining table there was larger than the one inside so we used that as well. There was a big storm that came through while we were there and knocked out the power to Union Pier and New Buffalo for almost 24 hours. Robin did not have a flash light or candles. We had to go buy those. Those emergency items would be a good addition to the property.
The grill heated up quickly and we used it quite a bit because we ate most meals in. A griddle would be a nice addition to the kitchen but otherwise we had everything we needed. The hot tub was also very clean and nice. The house however was not as clean as we would have hoped. One example was that the first time we went to use the oven, it started smoking. There was a spill on the bottom. I turned it off until I could clean it. When I contacted Robin she explained that her regular cleaning person had a personal situation and had to sub out the cleaning job so others may not have this same experience. The beds were all comfortable. However, I was mistaken in thinking 2 adults could sleep in the queen bunks. That was tight for our family and one person took turns sleeping on the couch. We are all taller, but not overweight. It is about a 3 block walk to the beach. Berrien beach is outstanding. Robin provides sand toys, floats, an umbrella and a wagon to pull it all, which is very nice. We very much enjoyed the Union Pier area and plan to return. We biked to New Buffalo daily, hiked Warren Dunes and hung out at the beach. For our meals out, we ate at Timothy's, The Stray Dog and Brewster's Italian Cafe.
All were excellent. It is the perfect spot for a laidback family vacation. We had 7 adults and a 10 mo old.
The 6 of us and family dogs just spent a week at Robin’s Nest. We had a great time. The backyard, hammocks, and screened in back porch area were perfect for our family to gather and eat meals together. Robin was communicative and responsive. This would be a great house for a family with younger children!
We had a wonderful time staying at Robin’s home. It felt much more like a home than most rentals. Our kids loved it. There are 2 swing sets, a screened in porch, hot tub, toys, and nice layout. Close to everything. Robin was especially nice about offering us leftover food and accommodating our requests. There is some road and train noise since it’s right off a busy road and train tracks, but it didn’t bother us (we are used to city noise). Highly recommend esp for families.
