A couple of notes on this fun and unique location. The home is located along a creek so children should be supervised at all times. Its located on a private road where there are rules and many year-round neighbors. Quiet hours start at 9pm and are strictly enforced. Families with children under 5 are not recommended due to the creek and also to the stairs and other features of the home. Reach out with questions and more details.

Wonderful location, walking distance to all downtown shops and restaurants and easy drive/bus to the mountain. Very lovely accommodations which match the pictures in the listing. Easy check-in and check-out. We would stay here again!
Bill, management, was responsive and helpful. Property is unique as others have said. Has what is needed. No frills. It is older/dated and furniture used but acceptable. Has elementary/pre-school across road and can be louder. 10 minutes easy walk to be on Main Street. Enjoyed our stay.
The house was awesome, maybe a little big for two people, but it was very nice and accommodating. All the things that you would need they already have there..
Lots of nice places to hang together and hang separate. Bathrooms are a little funky with the upstairs bed looking directly at the toilet. Get comfortable.Great neighborhood, fantastic hot tub good for 4 adults. Well apportioned kitchen. Nice gas stove.Strongly recommend.
This house was exactly as advertised. Easy walk from downtown and seamless access to the home in a quiet, comfortable neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again!
Property is in a great location close to town but far enough away to feel off the main path. The house was exceptionally warm when we arrived but that was expected based on other reviews. We sat on the back porch while things cooled down and enjoyed listening to the creek while the breeze kept us cool. Recommended for those looking for something unique.
Great property close to downtown. As the listing states, there is no AC so the main floor and top floor get pretty warm during the day. There is also no dishwasher, so a little extra effort when making meals in. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and it was great being next to the creek and close to restaurants/shops.
Fantastic getaway with my husband! The house was perfectly romantic. Great walk to the town of Steamboat. No worries about driving and enjoying the pubs. The walk was very pleasant. Restaurants were amazing. The hot tub was heavenly! Everything was spectacular ♥️
Beautiful home and location! My fiancé and I had am incredible time, unwinding and relaxing by Soda Creek in the hot tub. Stunning views out every window with the sounds of the creek running, made it hard to leave. Betsy was an amazing host, always keeping touch and responding to our needs. We can't wait to come back!
On warm July days, the kitchen gets very hot because of the sky lights. We learned to live with it because the nights are cool. It worked out okay for us.
We had a wonderful time staying at the Soda Creek Haus. The close proximity to main street allowed us to walk into town for Winter Fest activities. For skiing, it was very easy to drive over to park at the Meadows and shuttle up the mountain. The house is lovely and so unique. Betsy was very helpful in ensuring we were able to get into the house and had everything we needed. Thank you!
This is one time where the listing definitely helped set expectations. I assumed this was going to be a unique property, and it was.First and foremost - it must cost a small fortune to heat this home. I've never experienced windows so drafty. During our stay we were constantly adjusting the electric heat in 6 different locations in the house. Being baseboard heat, it took some work to find the right balance. It was a bit of a battle.I was a bit annoyed that my key code wouldn't work until exactly 4PM (we arrived 7 minutes early) but that's very minor. I was also a bit surprised that a home at this price point is still using an actual key. Not losing that key was an added challenge. The house was mostly nice. Beds were comfy, the living room was perfect for family relaxing, the fireplace was very nice, took the edge off the cold. The bathrooms were...unique. The shower on the main floor was a no-go for us. The gaps in the floor boards revealed some...not so good things. The shower upstairs was usable, but interesting as well. Great pressure, but it's tough to use without getting water all over the place. Having a view of the ski resort while showering was a nice bonus though! Not a lot of privacy in winter if you want to use the hot tub. There are neighbors (and goats) immediately behind the home.I'd stay in this home again though I think my wife would pass. Decent location, nice enough house, but maybe a bit too unique for a return trip.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Soda Creek Haus! The gentle sound of the creek flowing by can be heard perfectly which was wonderful at night. The house was clean and as presented online. Betsy was prompt in responding to questions and great to work with. Highly recommend!
A truly unique home within easy walking distance of Steamboat's restaurants and shops. The house had a lot of character and beauty, but was somewhat lacking in comfort. For example, the dramatic row of unshaded sky lights in the kitchen made the space unpleasantly bright and hot in the afternoon. But it was great to sit in the shade on the deck and listen to the creek running by.
We had such a great time at the Soda Creek Haus. It is a beautiful home in a wonderful location, close to downtown and not far from the mountain. We would definitely stay here again! I've already recommended it to family. Thanks!
We had a lovely stay at this cozy home next to Soda Creek. The house was clean, warm, inviting and conveniently located near downtown Steamboat Springs. We could even see the Winter Carnival fireworks from the living room! And after a day of skiing and snowshoeing, we really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub next to the creek. Thanks so much for everything! :-)
Great apres ski house! We all loved the hot tub! Kids bunk room is great. House was clean and property manager went above and beyond to accommodate and communicate!
This Steamboat Springs property is just too neat! We enjoyed a weekend here with our kids. The home's layout and design are unique in the VRBO world, and it is also very comfortable, relaxing, and fun! Salt Creek runs along side the property and we enjoyed looking at it from the hot tub and decks as well as listening to it at night. Kitchen, while small, is very well stocked and adequate. Beds and furniture were comfortable.
We arrived late at night. It was easy to get in and settled with good communication and a key lockbox.
Great weekend, fun memories, hope to return on future visits to the area!
The property was exactly as described. No surprises. A plus for us was the school playground across the street for my 6 and 9 year old kids. House was well equipped and had plenty of fluffy towels and bedding. What wasn’t exactly convenient was more than made up for with its unique charm! Loved the perfect walking distance to town, far enough to stretch your legs but not too far to walk home after dinner and drinks. Great for our group of 4. I hope I can manage another stay at this place. Would definitely return!
WARNING: The neighbors let their dogs roam around outside. I know this must be usual behavior because the house instructions said to drive slowly because the neighbors have children and dogs. Leashed and fenced-in dogs don't need that warning. So, I attempted to go for a morning walk, and a black lab and another mixed breed very aggressively charged me. If I had turn and run, which is what I'm sure what my children would have done, I have no doubt they would have attacked me. Before you try to defend the dogs or discredit me, I have been around dogs my entire life (my mother trains dogs), and I know what an attack looks and sounds like. They had quickly turned into a pack since they were together. The only reason they didn't attack me is because I know how to handle myself around dogs and the owner of the black lab (the dangerous one) heard him barking and called him. I was a hysterical mess. The dog owner said he's "very protective" and kept asking me if I lived there. I am telling you all of this as a warning to protect any future guests and especially any children. It was very upsetting and stressful, and I am so very thankful I went out without my kids.
For the house, it was great. My kids loved playing in the snow and creek with me watching constantly for the dogs, of course. We had plenty of room and the location is great. The listing says three bedrooms (maybe just a typo), but it's two. The house is really cute and quirky and was just what we were looking for. The dog scare really shook me up, but it wouldn't be fair to give this house a low rating. I would not be able to sleep at night if I didn't give everyone the warning. The good news is that the downtown area is perfect for walking, if you want to go for a walk. Fish Creek is also a fun little hike.
The cabin, neighborhood and experience was wonderful! Steamboat is a fun, friendly town. We made fantastic memories in Steamboat.
I wish the house instructions included what to do with trash as we could not find an outdoor bin. Also which items are locally recycled would have been nice to know. Having basic spices available would be a nice amenity too.
