The view is absolutely amazing. The cabin was cute. The were tons of dead bugs. There were piles of them in the windows, on the beds, and on the tables. Each night we had to clean dead bugs
Very peaceful setting directly on Pushaw Lake outside of Old Town. Out of the way from the populated tourist areas but all are accessible within a 1- 2 hour drive. Communication with property manager was excellent and house had everything we needed. Old Town had good restaurant options.
We stayed at this beautiful property for 3 nights in October. It is truly picturesque, and the sunsets are amazing!
The owner was responsive to questions. The manager/cleaner (Tiffany) communicated clearly and was helpful with information.
It should be noted that the 3rd floor bedroom is up steps that are almost ladder like – very steep. The third floor also has very little headroom. We peeked up there and quickly realized that it was too short of space for my husband to feel comfortable.
Since it was just the two of us, we used the very comfortable bed in the lower level. This level had panoramic views of the lake and was wonderful. The bathroom is on the second floor so if you get up in the night, be sure to leave the cute Mason jar night light on at the top of the steps.
We spent one day at Acadia National Park and it is about 1 ½ hour drive. It was an easy drive and a good day. We also enjoyed Hirunda Wildlife Reserve that was only a 15-minute drive from this cute cabin.
The cabin was fully equipped with a complete kitchen, dining table and living area on the second floor, again, with beautiful views! The biggest inconvenience is the refrigerator located downstairs in the laundry room making it a bit odd when you need to get food. Try as I might as an early riser, I ended up blinding my husband with refrigerator light when I grabbed my half and half each morning.
We would definitely return to this place. It was a great escape!
Adorable little cottage right on the water. Exactly what we needed for the weekend. Property manager communicated important details. Just wish it could have been longer.
Our stay at the cottage was perfect! It was very clean and the neds were very comfortable. The was equipped with everything we needed. We had besutiful waeather and were able to utilize the grill and enjoy the sunshine and beaitiful view of the lake. enjoy the pati. We utilized the grill
All that it was hoped to be. It was clean and very inviting, not very many places look like the photos this place did it met all expectations great place
We had a terrific time. The cabin was very clean, spacious, and had a lot of amenities. The lake was beautiful and quiet, with tons of wildlife present.
Just what we were looking for! Quiet, extremely comfortable and equipped with everything we could possibly need for a family getaway to an area we have all waited to see! Thank you!
The Rental Property was very nice and all amenities were supplied. The Rental Property was nice and spacious.
Our stay was enjoyable but was cut sort due to the pending Hurricane Lee heading as a direct hit so we left a day early.
Otherwise the Weather was perfect temp of 68-73 each day. Lake water was perfect temp.
So we relaxed as we had planed with the exception of Hurricane Lee. We will be returning...
Best Wishes to the Owner making it thru the Hurricane.
Just a beautiful cottage. Right on the water which is exactly what we were looking for. Great parking, enough room for our kayak trailer and easy access to the water for our kayaks. Cottage was terrific. Bedroom sliders out to the patio and dock made getting in and out very easy. We had great weather, the lake was clean and clear and the kayaking and fishing was superb. Super spot!!
We had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning next summer. Excellent location right on the water. Very charming cottage with plenty of room for our family. Wonderful!
PROS: the view & the lake were beautiful, & quiet. The dock was very accessible. There were lots of available games & puzzles. All the kitchen equipment was in good working order & fairly well appointed . Very clean except 1 issue.
CONS: Everything was spotless but a pillow case which was visibly dirty & had obvious blood on it. Thankful we had a couple of pillows with us as no extra linens were available.
Bazaar set up: the main refrigerator was downstairs from the kitchen & through a bedroom into a storage/laundry room.
The upstairs bedroom looked like it was an easy climb up from the living room but @ the landing it became a steep, built in ladder which was treacherous especially with a suitcase.
The dock, outside area & lake were lovely but there was a scarcity of floats & water equipment. If there were more in the shed, we didn’t have access to them b/c the property manager, Tiffany, (admittedly) forgot to unlock it & didn’t let us know till the end of the week.
What we thought was a grill was actually a griddle. We decided to make the best of it but the gas tank was empty. We replaced the tank (out of pocket) but the grill itself didn’t get hot enough to cook so that was a waste of our time & money. And you had to walk downstairs, through a bedroom or out & around the house to access the grill & picnic table.
Lastly, kayaks were there in plain sight but Tiffany informed us it would be $25/day per kayak to use them. That is a bit outrageous.
This was our second stay. The owners made lovelynupdatesbin the kitch with new countertops and large deep sink. The lake is very peaceful , so if relaxation is what you want rent this home. The only negative we were unabke to get bed room TV to work even after reaching out.
Clean, cozy, and super cute cabin. I wish we were there to enjoy the warmer weather on the lake. Perfect location for quiet and relaxation, but not too far from attractions.
Pushaw lake was beautiful and we had access to a canoe, but there was a $25/day charge for the Kayak, which we did not use.
The cottage was clean and included a washing machine and dryer. The small kitchen had a gas stove and dorm-size refrigerator. The full size refrigerator was located in the lower level with the washer & dryer and next to the master bedroom. The bathroom was on the first floor so needed a flashlight to make a.m. visits. Also, the ceilings are lower than normal so be careful to not bump your head if you are tall (especially when going down stairs to the master bedroom and refrigerator).
Didn't use the TV cause reception was poor. Also wish could locate manuals for the TV and "toaster."
As I said, the lake was beautiful and very clean and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay while we hiked in the area and drove 1-1/2 hours to Acadia National Park.
Property amazing exactly as described. The sunsets breath takeing, water crystal clear. Enjoyed kayaking and fishing. Only a short drive to Arcadia National Park and Bar Harbor area. Looking forward to visiting again next year.
Thanks for sharing your home with us.

I was born in Old Town, Maine and graduated from the Husson University of Bangor. In the summers I worked on route 95 cutting trees through the Waterville area and then driving truck to pay my way through college. I spent the next 38 years working for a major retailer and traveled the world to purchase products. I now live in Florida but my roots are still in Maine where I was born.
Why they chose this property
I purchased this property from my cousin as we lived across the street from each other as we grew up. She could no longer give the property attention. I totally refurbished everything while keeping the size as it was due to restriction placed on property close to the water. You can no longer build on the water with a large cement pad as we have on this property.
What makes this property unique
This property is where my wife and I can finally find some peace and quiet from everyone. The looking glass mirror of the lake in the morning, the cool breeze from the water on a warm summer day or the dancing moonlight on the water at night make this a special time in our lives. Hot dogs on the open fire, burgers on the grill or fresh lobster in the pot are all great memories that last Life is memories and this is where you make them.
