About this property
The Vintage Cottage at Our Place
About this space
Step back in time in our furnished vintage cottage in the Village of Beaver Crossing! Just 3 miles south of I-80, our cottage provides a relaxing place to stay during your road trip! Just 45 miles from sandhill crane migration! Avoid "party city" on Husker weekends with a family-friendly place to stay! Travel nurses - hospitals in Friend, York, Crete, and Geneva are nearby! College students - just 14 miles from Concordia, 31 miles from UNL, 33 miles from Doane, 12 miles from SCC in Milford.
The space
This cottage has two bedrooms plus a small non-standard bedroom, full kitchen, full bath, dining room, living room, full front porch, and unfinished basement (storm shelter). There is room for 6 to sleep, plus a toddler (in the toddler bed) and a baby (in the pack & play). A small roll-away is also available on request (smaller than a twin bed). The cottage has a new furnace, air conditioner, and hot water heater, and a cozy electric fireplace for your comfort. Smart TV with ESPN+ and Disney, as well as an antenna for local stations. Can provide extension cord and outlet for overnight EV charging. Washer/dryer on-site for long-term guests. Will Enjoy playing board games and reading books during your stay. Toys, puzzles, toy dishes, and kid's books (including some in Spanish) are also available for our young guests. Guests have use of the front and back yard to toss a football around, or play frisbee. Baseball and softball fields are just blocks away, as well as playground equipment and the city swimming pool. With camping available in the park, this is a great family reunion location!
Guest access
Guests have off-street parking for up to two cars (additional cars can park on the street). Please park in front of the left (west) garage door so we can back our car out of the right (east) garage door. Enjoy the yard and relax on the front porch! Grill and outdoor seating available seasonally.
Other things to note
Beaver Crossing is a small quiet community, away from city nightlife. There's an ATM at the bank next door, gas and a car wash across the street, a regionally-known hardware store ("Best in State" in 2021!), a women's clothing store, bakery, hairstylist, small library, bar & grill, several churches, and a convenience shop. We do charge a nominal cleaning fee to offset Airbnb's extra cleaning and disinfecting requirements during covid.
