About this space
Escape to our family-friendly cabin in the enchanting forest near Mt Hood. This cozy cabin offers modern comfort, including a bonfire pit, hot tub, fireplace, and bbq, amidst the breathtaking beauty of nature. Relax in the spacious living area, prepare meals in the fully-equipped kitchen, and indulge in the serene hot tub while surrounded by trees.
The space
This 1978 midcentury cabin has been freshened up for modern living. Located about an hour from both Portland and Hood River, and within 15 minutes of the best hiking + mountain biking trails, fly fishing, and skiing.
It’s ideal for one to two families or a group of friends with sleeping space for eight.
Bedroom #1 offers a king-size bed with a memory-foam mattress.
Bedroom #2 offers a queen-size pillow-top mattress.
The upstairs sleeping loft features four memory-foam twin beds; this room can be closed off from the main downstairs living space by a thick curtain. (Note: At its peak, the ceiling in the loft is around 5 feet tall.)
The living space is open and airy, with a wood-burning fireplace that will keep you cozy during cooler months. A few logs of firewood will be provided; additional wood can be picked up in town. There is Samsung 55” TV and Sonos Soundbar. An assortment of board games and coffee-table books rounds out the entertainment options.
The kitchen is fully stocked with coffee-making supplies and all the pots, pans, and utensils for your cooking needs. It features a 1970's JENN-AIR oven & cooktop in mint condition. (If you are curious whether we have a specific item, just ask!)
The bathroom has been updated and has a shower/tub, and heated floors. Indulge yourself with our shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion and hand soap from PUBLIC GOODS.
The covered hot tub and fire pit seating area is just steps from the front door. The front deck is a great spot for enjoying a meal with the family and friends on summer evenings or just taking in the sun. The deck also has a propane Weber BBQ. We will always try and make sure the tank is full, but if you happen to notice that it needs to be replaced… just holler.
This is a pet friendly chalet, $75 dog fee. No more than two dogs please. We provide a comfortable dog bed, treats, blanket, and an extra leash +poop bags.
Wildfire, weather, and other seasonal restrictions:
National Park trails, ski areas, restaurants, and other businesses or recreational activities may be closed or have limited opening during your visit. Check with the ZigZag Rangers Station and local ski operator's websites for the latest information. The HOA swimming pool may also be closed during your visit. During the wildfire season - local laws prohibit the use of fire pits and barbecues - we will keep you informed if these affect you. For local weather, travel, and live webcams checkout the Mt Hood info website. We are nearest to ZigZag and Rhododendron.
