Memorial Day Weekend
Positives: Proximity to Gatlinburg and Roaring Forks Nature Trail; Road to Lodge was less daunting than many cabins we've stayed at in the past, there were even street lights to guide the way after dark; Covered parking that kept the rain off after returning from our daily adventures; There were many options for watching TV once we figured out the TV controls; A bear was spotted on the property!; 2 luggage carts to handle the transfer of suitcases from the car to the Condo unit; Mama's Chicken Kitchen, McDonalds, Alamo Steak House and Food City are less than 5 minutes away.
Negatives: No chairs for the balcony to sit on and enjoy the evening air and sounds of the mountains; The sleeper sofa was a little uncomfortable to sit on for much more than 30 minutes or so; The ice maker in the fridge didn't work; The unit could use a coat of paint as there were several marks on the walls that showed it had been rode pretty hard in the past.
Overall we had a great time and despite the few negatives, we would definitely rent from Stoney Brook Cabins again as these negatives were minor nuisances and in no way were they deal breakers.
