About this property
Historic cottage with expansive views over north Lake Jo.
Nestled among the trees on the exclusive north end of Lake Joseph in Muskoka, the enchanting Sterling Point cottage offers a perfect blend of old Muskoka charm and comfort. Spanning a generous 7 acres with over 500 feet of shoreline, this idyllic retreat caters to those seeking privacy and a lakeside escape, with the added convenience of being near world-class golf clubs for enthusiasts.
Immerse yourself in the tranquility of the surroundings, with seating areas strategically placed around the property to enjoy full sun throughout the day. Shaded seating, including a generous sun umbrella on the main patio, is available for added comfort. Perfect for families, this multi-building cottage invites relaxation with great swimming, fishing, and recreation against the backdrop of breathtaking views, perfect for creating lasting memories in this magical Muskoka landscape!
The property boasts a pristine boathouse, featuring two boat slips, a sea kayak, a wooden canoe, skis, and a spacious sun dock. Whether you're exploring the lake or basking in the sun, this waterfront haven sets the stage perfectly. Enjoy outdoor gatherings on the expansive stone patio, gather around the fire pit in the evenings, and display your culinary skills at the outdoor grilling area.
Adding a historical touch, it's intriguing to note that the botanist credited with inventing the cherry tomato was the first documented owner, followed by our grandfather, responsible for repairing the iconic Stanley Cup and other notable items. Named in honor of our beloved silversmith, Sterling Point is ready to welcome you and your loved ones to share in the history of this stunning slice of paradise.
This cherished family cottage, passed down through the generations, is adorned with furniture, textiles, and artwork, each telling a unique story. You can almost hear them echoing, extending a warm welcome to you and your loved ones to join in the memory-making.
Note: Pets are welcome but must be kept on the property and not cause noise disturbances.
