Quiet cabin

Cozy cabin to get out of the cold and soak in the quiet life. No cell service with ATT but wifi was good enough for wifi calling and video calls for quite literally remote working

Great place to stay!

We were very impressed with the cabin, very nice, clean, and well kept. We love the layout, the bedrooms were setup just perfect for what we needed. The cabin had everything we needed, and the owner was very responsive with any questions we had. The River access is about a mile down the road from the property, and was very nice, with a pretty deep area for swimming. We would definitely stay here again!

Cabin Getaway

We enjoyed our time at the cabin. It’s located in a quiet, rural area, which is what we were looking for. The cabin was nicely furnished and very clean. It was the perfect home base while we explored the area.

Hiking Adventure

Really top notch; clean, comfortable and spacious. Took 3 hikes, Washington State Park on the way in, Johnson Shut-Ins on day 2 and Taum Sauk mountain on day 3. Hikers note that trails in this area are mostly rugged. Nice to come home after each to a comfortable home!

Cabin near Black River - Missouri

The Cabin was very clean and was above average in value. The host was very attentive and responded to all questions in a timely manner. The Black River was low and we decided not to go canoeing. The area is sparsely populated and there was not a lot of eating establishes to choose from. Not a lot to do if you do not utilize the river. The scenery in the area was beautiful. Probably would no go back to that location again.

Hiking and Solar Eclipse Trip April 2024

This cabin was perfect for our long weekend spent hiking some of Missouri’s nicest state parks. We had five adults and had plenty of room. It was beautifully decorated, perfectly supplied, clean and comfortable. The owner gave us his phone number and offered to help in any way. He was very prompt to answer when we had any questions. There were many little touches that we appreciated: books, games, lots of appliances and lots of bath linens. There was also plenty of room for us to set up our outdoor games as well. It was conveniently located near all the state parks which we wanted to visit, which included Johnson Shut-Ins, Elephant Rocks and Taum Sauk. Many thanks to the Walker Family!

My husband and I had the master which has its own big gorgeous bathroom my mom had the other queen and my two kids 16 and 8 had the double twin room it was so comfortable and so clean ya know at a hotel the beds never really feel clean not the case here at all they the beds were so clean and more than comfy.. and all the pieces of the house were so neat they decorated it so idk it was great the cookoo clock was a big fav. They even provided games in the living room thet we all played together and the TV had all the streaming services and trivia that was fun the river access they provide was AWESOME clean and beautiful! We truly couldn't have asked for anything more. The communication with the owners was so nice all my questions were answered and they were so helpful and so kind. I would reccomend this place to anyone looking in that area it was AMAZING!!!

Loved It!

We loved the Walker Cabin! It was immaculately clean, well-appointed and very comfortable. The grounds are very well kept, and being able to access the river was good. The location puts you close to many of the Ozarks’ special places for hiking and floating. I wish I had thought to bring some for bird watching from the spacious porch, but adding a pair of binoculars might be a welcome addition. Wi-Fi and Smart TVs were appreciated by all. One caveat: if you are looking at the amenities list, be conscious of what is not listed. We were surprised to discover there was no dishwasher or ice maker. Certainly not a deal breaker but a surprise. The Walker Cabin was the perfect place for three generations of our family to enjoy some time together. And, of course, we had S’mores around the fire pit!
