About this property

The Stable at Windmill Ridge Farm

You won’t forget the peaceful surroundings of this unique destination. Come visit our local wineries in a private non-shared stay. We have taken several years to create a rustic barn stay. We converted horse stalls into living space with 100 year old restored fixtures, modern heating, lighting, and insulation. We have kept much of the old wood stalls, and added reclaimed barn wood and roofing to create a vintage experience. We have a full kitchen. The milk house entry has a modern washer/dryer.
The space
Non-shared living quarters of 1 bedroom, separate bathroom, full kitchen and living room. Entrance serves as a separate utility and mudroom with clothes hooks, boot tray, and a stacked washer dryer.
Guest access
You will have access to all area inside the private occupancy space. We do list the adjacent house on property for guests and we do allow overnight RV parking in the summer months. The outside grounds are shared by all. The lawn care and plowing service is by an outside contract and you may see them on property at anytime. Additionally you may experience farm equipment traversing the property.
Other things to note
This property is not appropriate for small children or infants. No pets, or smoking/vaping allowed. Do not attempt to light the 100 year old gas oven if you have never done so before. Message the owner in the app first.

So cozy and cute

You can tell the owners put a lot of thought and care into making this place comfortable, clean, and unique. When I needed assistance, Terry and Angela were quick to respond, going above and beyond. Buffalo/Niagara Falls are less than 90 min north, and Erie/Presque Isle are 90 min south. In 15 min or less from the barn, I spent sunsets on Lake Erie, visited a winery (there are several to choose from), checked out a farmer's market, and spent time at a wonderful used bookshop. When I vacation, I never visit the same spot twice, but I am saving this one for another time!

Short but sweet

A lot of thought, effort and expense went into creating this unique and charming spot. Wish we could’ve stayed longer! Just a little tip: If one of you likes to sleep later than the other, I’d suggest bringing earplugs due to the open stable acoustics.

Unique and charming

We really enjoyed our stay at the Stables. It was very clean and had everything we needed. It was close to all the things we wanted to do. Very comfortable and cozy. Would absolutely stay here again if in the area.

What a charmer!

We only stayed one night at the stable but it was very comfortable and well thought out. We appreciated the effort they made to make sure we were safe, getting in the shower, etc. it was a great experience.

This is the cutest place to stay in a beauutiful country setting. The attention to detail and decor at the stable was perfect! The location was centrally located to Buffalo, Chatauqua and included lots of wineries and small town charm. I highly recommend the Stable.

I grew up in this area and drove by this location and it's amazing view on a regular basis. I couldn't believe when I returned for a 40th year high school reunion it was for sale. I knew somehow I had to have it. We enjoy having turned this property into a place where others can stay and enjoy this little piece of paradise.

Why they chose this property

This is a great location to be in the quite country, yet a short drive to get anything you may need

What makes this property unique

We have spent the last 4 years in a total renovation of this 100 year-old barn and converting the horse stall section into a unique living space with a mix of modern convenience with restored vintage appliances and furniture. The property is a great mix of farming with regular haying of pastures, crop planting, our hobby Christmas trees and a grape row. It has quiet wooded trails, spectacular across the lake views into Canada, and abundant wildlife.
