Single-level home located on Matinicus Island with yard  fire pit  & deck! Situated in the very heart of Matinicus Island  across from the one-room schoolhouse this home is a place to experience the quiet charm of old Maine. On this lovely island 22 miles off the coast of Rockland in Penobscot Bay  you'll enjoy all the conveniences of a home away from home as well as the unique experience of living in a remote island community. Spend your days walking to the quiet beaches and your afternoons and evenings enjoying the large yard and fire pit.

Additional amenities include WiFi (satellite service can be spotty on foggy days),  flatscreen TVs  and a fully equipped kitchen for family dinners at home.

As the most remote island in Penobscot Bay, Matinicus Island is a wonderful place to take a deep breath and relax. The island has limited cell service and no stores or restaurants  there are serene sandy beaches  wildlife watching  and the unique opportunity to truly unplug and enjoy island life.

Things to Know Before booking your reservation:
Please keep in mind it is the guests responsibility to coordinate transportation from the mainland to the island  and from the landing dock to your rental. A short walk can feel like a very long walk when you have to carry your luggage. While planning your trip to Matinicus  please remember that what you bring on you must bring off - no trace left behind  to include trash.
