About this property

Waterfront House with sandy beach and plenty of parking!

This lovely, pond-front property has a beautiful, flat, sandy beach with plenty of parking. The house has been recently renovated and includes a new kitchen, beds (all memory foam), LVP floors, drywall, paint, toilet, and more. The home is four season, 2 bedroom, 3/4 bath, 1,200 square feet on .6 acres located in Shapleigh, ME.

The porch is surrounded by windows with a dining table that seats six and an oversized sectional couch for watching the sunset and relaxing with family and friends. In the afternoon, the sun fills the porch with warm light and a relaxing energy. The primary bedroom has a king bed and the second has triple bunk beds (2 on bottom and one on top). The main space is open and inviting with a brand new heat pump with three heat settings, AC and dehumidifier. Did we mention air conditioning!?

Granny Kent is a natural spring with great water quality - perfect for swimming, kayaking (we provide 3), fishing, paddle boarding, or just floatin' around. Westerly facing, you will enjoy breathtaking sunsets while having shade and privacy from vegetation along the right side of the property. 12 foot dock for small fishing boats and enjoying sunsets. The beach is a low slope to a 8-foot depth, perfect for kids or older adults. There is a fire pit near the water's edge that fits 8 chairs comfortably.

Bring your small boat and launch directly on the property as there is no public boat launch on this pond. We also have a screen tent outside with a 7 foot table and grill tent with grill.

The home sits on a concrete slab with exterior block wall so the inside space is easy to cool on hot summer days and retains heat on cool fall evenings.

Sorry, no laundry facilities onsite and dishwasher not yet in service. Laundry is located 15 minutes away by the Milk Room, where there is also an Asian restaurant, hardware store, convenience store, gas, ATM’s and coffee. Harris Turkey Farm is only 5 minutes from the house where you can savor the most amazing maple slushie and grab a bite from the food truck (see website for hours and service days).

We hope you stay with us and build many years of incredible memories!

Wonderful stay

We loved our time on Granny Kent Pond. The home is spacious and well suited for a family and includes games, floats and more. We loved the lake access from the yard and especially the Loons! Great location to be able to explore Maine and New Hampshire without having to drive super far. Thanks for sharing your space!

Great stay!

Cottage was clean, spacious and right on the water. Level ground and beautiful sunset made it so enjoyable. Owners were quick to respond. Will definitely return a week in summer and winter.

great place

my family and I had the best week at Granny Kent Pond. Finding the camp was very easy, parking and unpacking simple. Inside space was very large, bedrooms spacious, bathroom clean and kitchen very modern and easy to use. dining and lounge areas were comfortable. Pond was very clean, swam and kayaked every day. enjoyed beautiful camp fires and sat by the pond from morning until night. very peaceful, relaxing space. I would absolutely go back.

Family Fun!

Honestly felt like we were staying at a close family members home. Marissa was great with answering questions that we had. Our youngest grandkids were in the water at 8 in the morning, while the older grandkids slept in. House was clean and everything we needed was there waiting for us. Thank you Marissa. comfortable dark bedroom.

Wonderful Weekend on the Lake

Thank you Marissa for sharing your home. My family had a wonderful time at the lake and hope to return again soon. The house was clean, updated, just as described. Marissa was very responsive. So much to do at the lake with Kayaks, floats, fire pit grill and swimming. Having a morning coffee from the Keurig and sitting on the dock was some of my favorite part of the day, followed by a nighttime fire with s'more's. To get away from it all and relax at the lake was just what we needed.

Comfortable clean lake house

This house is nice, clean and comfortable, and it's right on Granny Kent Pond. It's been recently renovated. The bedrooms (2) are small but adequate, and the living areas are spacious. This would be a great house for a vacation with kids. The water gets deep very gradually (though we had bad weather when I was there, and didn't swim) and there are lots of water toys for kids. There are two kayaks too. The kitchen is pretty well outfitted--bring along special pans or utensils you might need beyond the basics. This spot is away from towns but not too far, so you can shop and get gas if you need it. My only issue was that the end of the lake where this house is, is quite narrow and there are a lot of houses squeezed together there. That doesn't show up in the photos of the house. It was pretty quiet when I was there, thanks to the pouring-down rain, but I think on a warm summer weekend it might feel crowded. But all in all, a lovely spot. And the sunsets really are gorgeous, as pictured.

Hi, We are Mat and Marissa, and we are happy to be your hosts. We live about 35 minutes from the property and are here to ensure you have a wonderful stay. We have two daughters. This is our first year renting the property (as we bought it last year), so please let us know what you need or what we can do better.

Why they chose this property

We grew up renting the cabin next to our house. We have unforgettable memories on Granny Kent and can't wait for your family to create your own.

What makes this property unique

Granny Kent is a great pond, and it's spring-fed and clean. There is plenty of space for fishing and having fun. We also have a flat, sandy, open lot with plenty of parking. The furnishings are sturdy and comfortable with a home away from home feeling.
