Key Words: Villa Petite Chapelle is an exquisite home located in one of the PREMIER beautiful villages in France, Saint - Cirq - Lapopie. Its name comes from the tiny chapel with the cross next to the house.

Bienvenue: Villa Petite Chapelle will provide you with the perfect base from which to discover the stunning village of Saint - Cirq - Lapopie and the many attractions of the Lot.

The house is well appointed and has everything you will need with the emphasis on comfort and quality. The house is artistically decorated with antiques and original artworks.

The breathtaking view of the Lot River from the terrace is arguably the best in the village.

Location: The medieval village of Saint - Cirq - Lapopie stands high above the Lot perched on an outcrop of rock. The house is located at the entrance of the village. A 100 metre walk will take you to its centre. Here you can walk the cobble streets, explore artists' galleries, enjoy the food and wine specialties of the region at a cafe or restaurant or climb to the top of the outcrop for a panoramic view of the Lot Valley. However you choose to enjoy the village make sure you take the time to soak up the atmosphere of this postcard village with its outstanding architecture.

There is much to see and do in the nearby villages and towns.
Shop at bustling fresh produce markets ( a foodie's heaven), seek out a bargain at the Brocante or Vide Grenier
(empty the attic market) and visit Chateau de Cenevieres and the historic caves of Pech Merle. Enjoy walking, hiking and bike riding in this picturesque region. The Lot River is an ideal place to swim, kayak or canoe.

The Lot Valley is less well-known than its famous relative the Loire. It is peaceful and the perfect place to reflect, relax and recharge. If you are in need of rejuvenation the incredible landscape will nourish your spirit.

Highlights of Villa Petite Chapelle: The huge rebuild after the fire at the end of 2014 means our home now has all modern comforts but continues to have stunning, French country charm. Our home now has insulated walls and reverse cycle airconditioning resulting in a very comfortable home on the hottest or coldest days of the year. Where previously the toilet was part of an open bathroom, it is now separate. The kitchen with its new country stove, numerous sliding drawers and island bench top will delight you with its high quality appliances including Global knives and a Nespresso coffee machine. When you first open the terrace door, the stained oak timber floor and antique furniture including an authentic French, antique, day bed will create a wonderful impression.
The bedroom downstairs and the adjoining bathroom are an inviting sanctuary for relaxation. There is an antique bedhead and the bed is dresssed with beautiful, antique, linen sheets. The bathroom has a hundred year old cast iron, claw foot bath and a separate shower. Where previously the toilet was part of an open bathroom, it is now separate.
Sitting on the terrace with its magnificent view while sipping your coffee or glass of local wine will become a favourite past time. Take the steps to the next level and admire the view again.

Wonderful accommodations!!!

The little home was absolutely perfect for my husband and I. Everything is updated but in style to the location of the village. The living, dining and kitchen space can easily accommodate friends to visit for a meal or glass of wine. We would definitely stay there again when we visit. Plus the patio has an amazing view that will always be a memory from our visit to France!

A really enjoyable stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at St Cirq Lapopie. A very comfortable house, clean and well equipped. Easy to find and with parking just up the road it was very easy to get to and from the house. A perfect location with a beautiful view of the village and the Lot valley. The village is lovely, we ate in several restaurants, all of which were good quality and reasonably priced.

Amazing Rental with breath-taking views

My wife and I spent five wonderful days at this recently completely remodeled rental. I love to cook and the kitchen is amazing (with very sharp knives). If you do not wish to cook there are plenty of places to eat in this small village. A wonderful place to base out for touring this area of France. Sharon made everything easy--with directions and answering questions in advance. We would love to return to this one bedroom, spacious rental in the future.

Tastefully equipped, great view

We liked our stay in this beautiful house a lot. We were three people (2 adults and one kid) and the house fitted very well for us. Great kitchen, hobby-cooks will love it. The view from the terrace across St Cirq and the river is magnificent. St Cirq is very "touristy" in the summer, but you won't be disturbed in the house. Many cafés and restaurants but no foods to buy in the village.

Beautiful location overlooking St. Cirq Lapopie

Amazing location on the edge of the old town, overlooking St. Cirq Lapopie and right across the street from the shops and restaurants of the old town. Lovely views from the living room, terrace and garden. Large kitchen and bathroom. Close to village parking. While it wasn't an issue, you will be going up and down stairs frequently so be sure that it's not a problem for you!

Romantic petite villa

We stayed for a week in this picturesque village. The pictures really don't do the villa justice. It's perfect for a couple & I'm sure would do fine for a small family as well. The house is very well stocked with all items you could need. The view is unequaled from both the front windows and the upper patio. Sharon was so helpful in making the rental an easy process. We recommend this villa to anyone who wants to experience the beauty of the French countryside & ancient villages.

Wonderful

We had a wonderful time at Villa Petite Chapelle, your house is very comfortable, with lots of room to relax and enjoy the view. And speaking of views, sitting on the terrace sipping wine and overlooking St Cirq Lapopie is one of the many highlights of our stay. It's a great location for exploring the Lot and Dordogne valleys. Sarlat, Domme, Beynac, Rocamadour, the caves at Pech Merle, and much more are each easy day trips from St Cirq. We have traveled quite a bit to some wonderful places, and there are a few places we consider very special in our memories; St Cirq and Villa Petite Chapelle are now included in the special list. Thank you for allowing us to stay at this special place.

Jewel of The Lot Valley

Beautiful house with breathtaking views over St Cirq Lapopie and The Lot! Just a very short stroll to a choice of great restaurants to sample the local cuisine! Or just sit on the terrace of the house with a bottle of local wine after a day of cycling, perfect! Would highly recommend! Communication with Sharon was excellent. From our initial enquiry, arrival details, tips on where to eat and local markets. Excellent and informative with a real personal touch! Just perfect! Thank you Sharon.

Lovely house in a beautiful location

The village of St Cirq Lapopie is lovely place to stay and this house is two minutes walk from the centre. The scenery is stunning and the village itself is really picturesque. There are many restaurants and bars which are very good. Yes, it is very touristy, but this adds to the buzz and it quietens down considerably in the evening. The house was perfect for the two of us. The kitchen is very well equipped and the seating area is comfortable. Down stairs the bedroom is cooler and this was a real bonus as we had temperatures around 38 to 40 degrees. You will need a car as, apart from restaurants, there are no food supplies in the vicinity. The local area has many attractions, but just driving around was great as the scenery is so lovely.

Fabulous modernized interior in a gorgeous old stone building

The Villa Petite Chapelle is a gem. It's perfect for two people (or four if you don't mind sharing the bathroom), with a queen bed and master bath downstairs (with claw foot tub, and large separate shower), and a day bed and sofa bed upstairs. It's in an old stone building, in the most fabulous hilltop village, right above the Lot river. Gorgeous views from the windows, and the private patio. Sit and enjoy a glass of wine, some foie gras, cheese and baguette, and soak in the view. Did I mention the kitchen? It has everything you could need or want, including a commercial 6-burner stove. And up the outside stairs is a laundry room with washer and dryer. We had a fabulous time here, and would come back in a snap. Sharon was a delight to deal with, and kept in touch all through the pandemic. We originally booked in 2020, postponed to 2021, and finally made it in 2022. Seriously, if you're headed to the South West of France, do not miss this perfect little house, in a fairytale village with cobble stone pedestrian walkways, great restaurants, good wines, and proximity to many local sights.

5 Star Villa in a 5 Star Village

My husband and I spent 2 weeks in May in Villa Petite Chapelle and we did not want to leave. The owners have renovated the villa recently and it is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and it is equipped with everything you need. The views of the Plus Beau Village and the Lot river from the living room windows and the terraces are unequalled, day and night (the castle ruins are lit at night). The location of the villa is great, just a few minutes from the center and the bread depot, various restaurants and bar/cafes, and interesting shops. Don't miss the St. Cirq Gourmand just down the road from the house for breakfast or lunch. If you like to cook the kitchen is fully equipped and the great French stove/oven is terrific. The owners clearly take pride in the their home, the village, and the surrounding area and have provided information to enhance your adventures. The markets they recommend in Villefranche de Rouerge, Limogne en Quercy, and in Cahors should not be missed. We have visited many French villages and St. Cirq and this villa are in our top 5. Sharon and Pierre are very helpful and easy to work with. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Patti & Don

Magnifique vue

Villa with a Stunning View

This was our second stay in St. Cirq-Lapopie (one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France) at the home of Sharon & Pierre and it was as wonderful as our first stay. Corresponding with Sharon was easy and she was very helpful throughout. We stayed three weeks and did not want to leave. We are sure we will be back. We feel at home there. The villa's front room windows and its private terrace over look the beautiful village, the Lot river, the church and the ruins of the castle. All are lit up at night - magical. The house is just a few steps from the centre of the village and its cobblestone streets, interesting shops, excellent restaurants and cafes. The staff at the Tourist Bureau are helpful and fun to work with and the inhabitants of the village are friendly and welcoming. Don't miss Le Saint Cirq Gourmand just up the road from the house for breakfast, lunch, or for a glass of wine, while overlooking the village. Be sure to try their delicious Lou Pastis apple tart. Just over the bridge at the entry to St. Cirq there is a convenient Proxi (grocery store) and down the road there is an excellent bakery, The house is beautifully renovated with a modern kitchen which is well appointed for every cook. The living/dining room area has TV, CD player, and phone and a comfy day bed to curl up on and read a book. Down the interior stone steps there is a large bedroom (with a comfortable queen bed) and a large bathroom with a luxurious claw foot tub and large shower. The village is situated in the Lot Valley and is close enough for easy day trips to many small, historic villages, Cahors for an amazing Saturday morning market, and other villages with markets full of fresh produce. Be sure to visit Chateau de Cénevière not far from St. Cirq. This region is perfect for walkers and hikers. This house and this village offer you a perfect place to have a memorable vacation. We highly recommend Villa Petite Chapelle! Don & Patti

Wunderschönes komfortables Ferienhaus mit sensationellem Blick auf Altstadt und Fluss

Alles, was das Herz begehrt. Unser Gesamturteil: super.

Almost perfect!

Very nice holidayhome on a great location with excellent views on medieval Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. Very close to the road but the double glass in the windows leave almost all noise out. In the evenings it is nice and quiet. Two! very private terasses which are mostly in the shade, very convenient on hot days. Nice restaurants in the neighborhood but you can make your own meals in the very well equipped kitchen. Bare in mind this holidayhome is not suitable for people with disabilities, it can only be reached by stairs and the parkingplace is at about 200 meters but requieres a 15 meter climb. And the owner is very helpful and communicative. You won't regret a stay here. We were here for 3 weeks and had plenty to do around (great walking, cycling, nice villages, caves etc.).

My husband Pierre and I live in Perth, Western Australia. Pierre was born in France and although having travelled extensively throughout Europe we alway return to France. We love everything it has to offer.

Why they chose this property

In 2010 while flicking through a magazine in a doctor's waiting room I came across an article describing the beauty of the village of St - Cirq - La Popie and the surrounding Lot region. We had planned to holiday in France during the year but had not decided on our itinerary. Pierre and I knew little about this relatively undiscovered part of France. The description of the village and the Lot Valley made it easy for us to choose this destination for our holiday.
On arrival in St Cirq we were not disappointed.
On the afternoon of our arrival while wondering through the French Postcard streets I saw someone from Perth I had taught with at a local school but not seen for over twenty years. This ex -colleague was renting their holiday accommodation from a person who had a house for sale in the village. The rest is history. We fell in love with the house and the village.
Buying a house in France had not been part of our holiday plans!

What makes this property unique

The stunning view from the terrace makes this the ideal spot to start the day with a morning coffee or have a glass of the superb, local red wine in the evening.

Walk 100 metres and you can enjoy delicious local dishes from a range of restaurants and browse numerous artists' galleries.

Enjoy cooking your purchases from local markets on our magnificent country stove. Choose a recipe from La Cuisine or Taste Le Tour Cookbook and savour your quality fresh produce cooked simply.

After a long day of hiking, exhausting shopping ( only because you are wondering how you will ever fit everything you have purchased into your case ) or touring a chateau, relax and soak in the antique, cast iron claw foot bath.
