About the host
Hosted by Kelley Calvert

We are both well-traveled individuals and have lived in Monterey for several years. We've also lived overseas serving in the Peace Corps and working for humanitarian aid organizations. We are knowledgeable about the area, with a passion for the artistic and ecological history of the bay.
We embrace a spirit of adventure and are always happy to share ideas about the outdoors as well as restaurants, cafes, and attractions in the area.
You will find guidebooks, Steinbeck novels, and other local references in the guesthouse, and our Co-Host would love to share our insights and ideas with you.

Why they chose this property
Seaside is a unique area of Monterey Bay, with a history that includes people from all walks of life coming together on the peninsula. Seaside has excellent authentic food from all over owing to its great diversity of people. Our neighborhood is very family friendly with three playgrounds nearby. Fort Ord is also at the top of the hill and features endless hiking and biking trails overlooking the bay.
What makes this property unique
When we first started staying at vacation rentals with our young kids, we found most places to be very unkid friendly--if they even allowed kids. One of our goals is to make our place as family friendly as possible. At our home, you'll find all the essentials: baby monitor, high chair, kids utensils and plates, and childproofing. You'll also find the fun stuff: toys, games, and a little playhouse in the front yard. The property is completely fenced in, so parents can rest assured that kids can't wander off. Meanwhile, our cozy place is quiet in the evenings, and you'll find blackout curtains to keep out the sunlight on those long summer nights for a good night's sleep.
