The Confluence Cabin: At the mouth of the Ichetucknee

CONFLUENCE: /kŏn′floo͞-əns/ noun
1. The place where two rivers, streams, or other continuously flowing bodies of water meet and become one, especially where a tributary joins a river.

The Confluence Cabin is a beautiful cedar home nestled where the Ichetucknee meets the Santa Fe. The "mouth" of the rivers is a very popular spot to meet up all summer. The year-round 73 degree pure spring water bubbling from the ground attracts friendly manatees and otters, along with hundreds of species of fish and birds.

Enjoy it all from the long boardwalk, multiple docks and covered pavillion. Launch our crystal clear, glass bottom kayak directly from the backyard kayak dock and try to spot a manatee on the Ichetucknee. In total there are six kayaks and one canoe available during your stay. The community boat ramp is just a few yards away for launching larger vessels. Right from our dock you can swim, tube, canoe, kayak, snorkel, fish, jet ski and go boating. The 2 acre property has more than a full acre fenced in, making it perfect for children and dogs.

The cabin itself is cozy and you will feel right at home. The upstairs has two bedrooms, one King and one Queen, as well as two bathrooms. The kitchen has everything you could need and the nearest grocery store is within 2 miles. Downstairs is accessed from the exterior only. It features one large room with four beds. A full bathroom, and large screened area, as well as laundry room. We have free wi-fi and all TVs are SmartTV/Firestick enabled where you can use all of your streaming services. The house has lots of games inside and outside including a tree swing, a macrame baby swing, corn hole, croquet, bingo, cards, board games and books and toys for children.

*Please note that the river can rise. At times the water will be high enough to cover the dock and come into the yard. It's beautiful to see because the water is crystal clear. During a river rise boats and kayaks can still be launched from the yard. Wonderful cabin

We had such a wonderful time at this cabin that we stayed another day! The cabin has everything you would want. So, if you forgot something, they have it there. Cabin was decorated nice. Was a home away from home. The nature walk and view from the covered deck was spectacular. Family had fun swimming around the dock and looking at the fish and turtles. There was a family of manatees that swam by the dock! The fenced yard was such an awesome amenity. My dog could explore without constantly being on a leash. Kayaks available without an extra cost. Even had doggy life vest and dog beds. We loved this cabin and there were no mosquitoes!!!

Perfect getaway for nature enthusiasts!

We love the outdoors. So do our kids and pups. This place was the PERFECT getaway. The luxuries of home coupled with the beautiful closeness of nature. The Ichetucknee spring run is a five minute paddle from the dock. The water at the dock and river is crystal clear. The second day of our trip we decided to try to paddle/kayak the entire spring run. It’s 6 miles one way and SO WORTH THE TRIP! We loved relaxing under the beautiful trees. The kids were fishing around the clock. We did lots of snorkeling and went to the springs to go tubing! We highly recommend this and to bring your own tube. We went on a Thursday and it wasn’t busy at all! We can’t wait to book another trip to the confluence cabin for next summer. This just might be our new summer go to from now on!

Confluence Cabin

We stayed here 4 years ago under different owners. The new owners did an amazing job on updating the home and making it extremely welcoming. They literally have EVERYTHING you need for your stay. We were sad to leave.

Peaceful and beautiful

This property is absolutely gorgeous, and the host went above and beyond for us! Melissa left special surprises for the grandbabies, and a bottle of wine and mothers Day card for me! There had been a terrible storm the day we arrived, and the entire area was without power. We"glamped" the first night, which was actually kind of fun! The power came back on the next day, but Melissa was so sweet and gave us an extra day free! A very memorable vacation, and we will definitely be back! Also, the yard and upstairs balcony was super secure, very child and pet friendly!!

A gem in FL

The property and house were quiet and cozy. The deck, yard, pavilion, and river were the stars of the property--AMAZING. Access to kayaks and a canoe was wonderful. In addition, the location was close to many parks with natural springs. We were there for Spring Break and really enjoyed our vacation. No complaints.

Perfect Location!

We loved the setting of this home. It is right on the river and the property is entirely fenced, which was amazing for our dogs. We enjoyed making use of the onsite kayaks and caught a few fish! However, we did feel that the home itself could have been cleaner.

Most Beautiful Yard

I Could Live Here Forever

We had an excellent stay! The communication was awesome and checking in was a breeze. The instructions and communication prior to arrival were complete and clear. The property is super clean and stocked with basic necessities and even more. However, the most important, the location is way better than what is in the listing description, what a paradise!

Enjoy nature in this postcard perfect cabin

This place was a cozy cabin in a beautiful setting. The kitchen had everything we needed for making our culinary delights. We kayaked and fished on the scenic river. And enjoyed the peace and quiet while relaxing on the covered deck. Our dog had lots of fun running around the fenced in yard. There's also quaint little town not far with cute antique shops and restaurants.

Great location

It's my dog's dream comes true vacation home. The property is very dog friendly and so much outdoor space for the dog to run and play. We really enjoy the cabin and the river behind the it. Great location for people who want to spend some quiet time with nature.

We had an amazing fall trip

We enjoyed being out in the woods. It was such a beautiful property and very peaceful. Our boys 7 & 4 had a blast playing in the large fenced in backyard along with our dog. The dock/patio area down by the river is very nice. Our boys enjoyed playing in the river. We also checked out the springs less than 20 minutes away, gorgeous. All in all we had an amazing time!

Peaceful and serene on the Santa Fe River

My husband and I came up to Brandon to explore the area. We loved The house and the property! It was very comfortable and beautiful spot on the river. The boat house was a lovely place to sit and watch the river. Our 8 year old Beagle had a wonderful time exploring the grounds! We will recommend this beautiful place. Fun House on Sante Fe

This really was a fun place for our family gathering with our adult children and 3 of the grand dogs. Lovely property with board walk to the river and many old live oak trees. Access to private swimming area and kyack launch on the crystal clear Ichenetuchnee River. Hostess was thoughtful and even called before our visit to see if we had any questions. Loved everything about the house, property, and location.

Riverside Paradise

This was an absolutely beautiful setting by the river, perfectly set up for guests and their furry friends. You can tell how much the owners love and welcome dogs, and we so much appreciated that. Fenced yard and gorgeous boardwalk that leads out to the river with a covered sitting area and different level docks. We brought our JetSki and explored several springs not far from the property. It was also a short kayak to there to talk to the river right around the corner. Very cute towns nearby for anything you need. This was a perfect spot and Kris make sure we were comfortable and have everything we need. We will definitely be back.

Natural beauty

This was our second visit to the Santa Fe river house, and our experience was even better! We dove off the dock and spent more time in the cool river. Our Brittany pup even learned to swim! Since the house is located so close to the Ichetucknee springs and Blue Hole , we could arrive early and have these naturally beautiful swimming holes to ourselves. Mornings and evenings were quiet except for the sounds of nature. Old Florida has been preserved here, and I hope to return soon.

Relaxing

We have stayed here multiple time and also enjoy it. They have added a covered dock by the river which is a nice place to relax. The property is extremely dog friendly so we are lucky to bring the whole family when we go.

Very fun filled weekend getaway!

This was a great place to relax by the river with friends and family! Beautiful scenery with lots of wildlife sightings. Our host Kris did a wonderful job to have the place ready for arrival plus a few extra nice touches that helped us enjoy our stay. I would recommend this rental for anyone else who would want to "get to know" the real Florida!

Love the property and location

Our family and a couple of friends thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of nature that surrounds you at this property. Bird watching from the upper deck, deer wandering on property and manatees in the river. We experienced them all. The property manager called before our arrival to check on us and to be sure we had her number. Thanks Kris! This was our second stay here and have recommended it to others.

Serene & Feels Like Home

Access was well described, clean, accommodating, and welcoming. Close to town and the springs. It was beautiful well kept and serene. The dock was an added bonus to fish and my 2 little dogs dis not want to leave. It was fenced in and a lot of room for them to run. Great find for families and friends alike. I have already recommended it to a friend and will be booking again! Great place to share and create memories for a lifetime! The rooms stayed dark for sleeping and though we did not get the chance to utilize the kayaks, we will for sure next time! This was an amazing place. I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed and you certainly will not want to leave.

We live in Downtown Charleston, SC in a property that dates back to 1854. We enjoy walking and biking around town and going to the farmers market on weekends.

Why they chose this property

We love walking and biking down the dirt roads under the canopy of oaks and the sound of our dog and kids running down the dock. Our family is joyful at the cabin. The property settles my soul and puts me into complete relax mode. It is so fun and exhilarating to jump in the river. Grilling breakfast, lunch and dinner outside and enjoying the incredible views never gets old.

What makes this property unique

Its 2 acres of beautiful trees and water views. The cabin has multiple docks and is basically across the street from the tube launch at Ichetucknee Springs. Incredible location.
