Immerse yourself in the beauty of the natural world without sacrificing comfort and style. Whether you're an avid nature lover, a water enthusiast, or simply someone seeking tranquility, there's something for everyone.

Our Geo Dome is surrounded by extraordinary natural beauty within a wooded geological oasis. A wet-weather creek carves a path through the property, which forms a beautiful hollow with unique rock formations and seasonal waterfalls.

Campfire Hollow is not suited for young children. The property includes steep drop-offs, large rocks, rugged terrain, and other natural hazards unsuitable for children or others who find it challenging to maneuver in hazardous conditions.

The Dome has 300 SF of living space with an 11' ceiling. The Dome has a plush queen-size bed, linens, and blankets. It also includes a small kitchenette, dining set, and basic utensils. The Dome is fully equipped with electricity and lighting for added convenience.

The Wash House is a short stroll from the Dome. The Wash House includes two standard toilets, one stand-up shower w/ hot water, washing vanity, and a washer/dryer.

The outdoor space was created for fun and relaxation.

NO central heating & air conditioning in the Dome. The Dome has a small air conditioner, solar ventilation fan, screened door for cross ventilation, window curtains, and oscillating fans for warm days. The Dome has a large electric heater and electric heating blankets to stay warm during cool nights. There is no insulation in the Dome. The Dome will be warm during sunny hot days. The Dome will be cool during cold weather.

You will have full private access to the Dome and the Wash House. Explore and enjoy the 1.6 acres of rugged terrain. There are no other structures or rentals on the property.

There are 2 trails that start on our property and then meander through public land. The trails are for our guests; they are not open to the public.
The Lake Trail is carved on the side of the hollow and runs along the creek bed. The Lake Trail leads to the rugged shoreline of Table Rock Lake. This trail is narrow with steep drop-offs. Extreme care should be taken on this trail. *Please note - we do not recommend swimming or launching any type of floating device in the small cove. It is shallow and filled with debris.* We recommend Big M Recreation Area and Eagle Rock Recreation Area for swimming, boating, fishing, etc. Both are a short 10 minute drive from Campfire Hollow.
The Overlook Trail is a flat trail that winds through the trees. The Overlook Trail leads to a rock ledge with a spectacular view of Table Rock Lake. This is an easy trail for just about anyone.

Waste containers are located throughout the property; please clean up after your pet. Please note the property has steep drop-offs, wildlife, and other natural hazards that could harm your pets.

My name is Justin Mayfield, and I am a single dad to my son, Barrett. I have worked in the insurance industry since 2010. My hobbies include golf, hiking, traveling, and the thrill of a new adventure. I have always enjoyed curating trips and experiences with family and friends. I combined my passions into a side project called Campfire Hollow.

I ran the New York City marathon, and recently finished my first ultra marathon (50k).

I’ve hiked Angel’s Landing at Zion National Park, bungee jumped in Florida, and snuba dived in Hawaii.

Why they chose this property

There was land for sale on Table Rock Lake, near Roaring River State Park. I decided to go check it out. I arrived and found the weeds and briars were twice my size. It was so thick and overgrown I couldn't even find a path to explore the property, so I almost drove away. But something kept me there. I decided to find a way through the mess. I walked/crawled down the creek bed that ran through the center of the property. I eventually made it to the hollow. I stood there in awe and couldn't believe the beauty hidden behind all the overgrown vegetation. I had to have it.

My friend, Matt, has experience constructing houses and decks, so I asked him to help me build the dome platform. In November 2021, we arrived at the property with pre-cut boards and were ready to assemble them. We could not access the dome site with a vehicle or heavy equipment due to the rock shelf and rugged terrain, so we hauled each board, by hand, down the rock shelf, to the dome site. We spent a few weekends constructing the platform.

In January 2022, my dad, Lance, brother-in-law, Ethan, and Matt, started erecting the dome. The dome frame took one full day of interesting, fun, and frustrating work. The following day we installed the vinyl fabric cover over the dome frame. The cover weighed over 300 pounds, and we had to throw the cover over the 11' tall frame. We had a good plan, but it was unraveling once we had the cover in the air. Long story short, we got the cover over the entire dome with no problems or injuries.

I spent the following months cleaning the land, building trails, and landscaping. We finally had a well and septic by September 2022. Now we could move forward with the wash house. The wash house started as a pre-fabricated shed with an unfinished interior. By March 2023, the wash house transformed into a fully functioning finished structure.
