Stylish

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at this apartment for the week. As a annual visitor to NYC, this was the first time I rented an apartment, as I usually check into a hotel. The apartment at Nolita Place was fantastic. Well laid out, ample space, stylishly furnished. The location was great - a short stroll to a number of Subway lines, Wholefoods, Soho, great restaurants etc. The owners gave great suggestions for restaurants etc, and all correspondence prior to our arrival was answered quickly. I would definitely stay at Paul and Claudia's apartment again.

The perfect Nolita base to explore from

This apartment was the perfect location to explore NYC, with so much to enjoy on your doorstep or a short stroll away. The best of Lower Manhattan's eateries, coffee shops, and bars are minutes away, whether you are looking for brunch, dinner or just liquid refreshment. Access to the subway is perfect for those trips further afield too. The apartment itself is a really good size, has postcard views, and feels like a home from home with a very well appointed kitchen and all the comforts of modern living (including numerous takeout menus for a night in !). The host was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The only downside for those not used to it, is that traffic noise is 24 hours - but sound insulation is good & it's NYC, so that's to be expected. 5 Stars. Excellent apartment.

Great stay!

The unit at 199 Bowery was exactly what we were looking for. It was equipped with all the necessities. So nice to come back to after shopping, exploring & Broadway Shows! We really enjoyed meeting & talking with the doormen. So friendly & courteous! Thanks Claudia & Paul for making our trip so enjoyable with your rental! Janice & Jim Eyerman

Spacious downtown apartment

Claudia's apartment was a good base for our 10-night girls' trip to NYC. The apartment was located within an easy walking distance of several subway stops and we navigated Manhattan and Brooklyn with ease. There were tons of great restaurants, shopping and various services (groceries and laundry service) within a few blocks of the apartment as is typical of Manhattan neighborhoods. The closet and drawer space was more than enough to accommodate four ladies who brought too many clothes! Claudia was responsive during the booking process and did respond promptly when we had issues related to the excessive heat in the apartment. However, it would have been nice if she had checked in with us within the first few days of our stay as a courtesy to see how we were managing. The doormen for the building were all courteous and sweet and offered a smile and conversation each time we left or returned to the building. As the apartment is "downtown" it was extraordinarily noisy so earplugs are a must if you want a restful sleep. We did experience issues with the heating system and despite the owners' attempt to have this alleviated our only reprieve was to open the windows to excessive and incessant honking. This was my seventh stay in New York and this was one of the noisiest neighborhoods I have experienced. The restaurant and nightclub directly below this unit did not help! We had an extremely busy itinerary during our stay so our time in the apartment was primarily to sleep and prepare breakfast before heading out for the day. The kitchen was well equipped, however, a larger coffee machine would be more appropriate. The Keurig machine advertised was not provided. The apartment, by New York standards, was massive and offered big windows in the living room with views to Soho and the One World Trade Center and views of the sunset. This unit could be improved with more lighting, especially in the living area and rearrangement of furnishing to allow for a table and four chairs. The apartment accommodates four to sleep but only three to eat together. The building and unit were described as new construction but this was a remodel at best with some touch-ups on the walls needed. The antique intercom phone at the entrance was a dead giveaway as to the age of the building! We thank Claudia for sharing her apartment with us for our time fabulous time in Manhattan.

Amazing apartment in Nolita

If you are looking for a spacious, clean and beautiful apartment in Nolita, look no further. Claudia and Paul's place was fantastic. We stayed in this apartment for a week and there were four of us. It's hard to find an apartment of this size in NYC so this is truly a gem. It is conveniently located and you are in walking distance to many great restaurants in the area. Whole Foods Market is just around the corner so we would get groceries and make breakfast in the morning. The kitchen was well-equipped. The doorman was friendly and we all felt safe in the building. Claudia was very responsive and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place.

We loved it!

Just perfect for us. It was our fiftieth anniversary and our kids stayed with us. Plenty of room two bedrooms two baths in the perfect location. Went to great restaurants (most recommended by Claudia) and walked every time. Just loved that it was located so close to lower east side, Chinatown, Little Italy and Soho. One of our best vacations ever! Nolita is now our favorite area in NYC!

Everything you need

The apartment is great. It's spotlessly clean and all rooms are of a good size. The facilities in the apartment and the building itself are excellent. There wasn't anything that we needed in the apartment that wasn't there. A new restaurant has opened on the streeet level in the same building its seriously good and very cool. It's called Vandal. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs as being on a busy street it can get noisy. The location of the apartment is excellent.

Wonderful apartment and location!

We had a really wonderful stay here, for almost 3 weeks. The location is so handy to the grocery, wine and paper store, the New Museum, one block from NOLITA and lots of action around. Paul and Claudia were great to work with. We have very few issues -changing a light bulb- and it was addressed immediately. The condo has everything you need to make meals, and restaurants abound if you don't want to cook. The view of the Freedom Center and all the street activity was great to watch. My husband had orthopedic surgery and it kept him entertained : ) And the FDR Highway is right there! I can't say enough about the fabulous on site staff. They were so kind and helpful. They helped us send out our laundry, held the door for my husband and were always chipper. If there is a negative, it is the street noise. While we were there, there was road construction and construction of a building next door. There was no noise from inside the building. We quickly used the " White Noise" on our phones and the problem was solved. I would recommend this place in a heart beat.

Perfect for us!

This was our first VRBO experience in NYC and it was a homerun. We normally stay in the Soho area so this location was ideal. It is close to everything you need, including Whole Foods, subway and anything else you need. The property was even better than we expected from the descriptions and pictures. It is well appointed, comfortable and extremely spacious. Closet space is amazing, the kitchen has all you want, and the bed is very comfortable. The doormen and super and extremely pleasant and helpful. Claudia is very responsive and pleasant to deal with. We wouldn't change a thing and look forward to future stays.

Location luxury

Our group consisted of two couples and we stayed in this lovely modern apartment for two weeks. It is comfortable and roomy and has separate spaces to relax in. It is close to the metro which we accessed all areas of New York. The area of Nolita has a great vibe close to great shopping and restaurants. Our go to place for supplies was the Wholefood store just down the road. Claudia and Paul were great to deal with and everything you require is here.

Lovely apartment in great location

We stayed in this apartment for 12 nights. Group of 4. It is a beautiful apartment and there was plenty of room. 2 great sized bathrooms. Kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of linen and towels. Great TV. We did find it a bit warm at times in the apartment even with heating off but we later learnt how to use air con for cool air. One bedroom had no working light which was a shame but communication with the owner re this was very prompt. The location is great walking distance to soho, little Italy and Chinatown. Nice apartment block and concierge are very friendly and helpful. The road it is on is very busy and can appear rough but we didn't have any issues. Lift access to apartment was a bonus and multiple sets of keys. We had a great stay in this apartment and would Definately stay there again. Thanks to the owners for being so helpful with any enquiries or concerns along the way.

Live like a local

My husband and I stayed in the Nolita condo and had a wonderful time. We discovered a part of NYC that we didn't know well and it was so convenient to Whole Foods and wonderful restaurants and shopping. It's right at the intersection of Chinatown, Little Italy and Soho. The condo was nicely furnished with good sized beds and best of all a great walk-in closet. I used the laundry facilities in the basement level and it was easy and convenient as well.

Perfect in every way!

This apartment is gorgeous! The views are spectacular! It's also in the best location if you really want to be in the heart of NYC. We were two couples and there was a ton of room to spread out and be comfortable - two huge bedrooms and bathrooms and lots of space to lounge around and store our belongings. It was great to be able to do our laundry since we were in NYC for a month. Location is excellent for shopping, groceries, bars, restaurants, & subways - everything you need is within walking distance. The host was great and always available to answer any questions and provide suggestions for places to eat, etc. We love this place and highly recommend it!

RENTERS BE AWARE … Cancel's Reservations at the Last minute.

I booked this place for a month, March -April. I booked well in advance and paid the entire rental amount up front as requested. Less then a week before our stay the owner decides to cancel on us, making up a lame excuse and refunded our money. We were travelling with a small baby and it was not easy to find another place on such short notice. We are Canadian so when he refunded the money the exchange rate had changed and we ended up loosing out not only on the place we were looking forward to staying but also on several hundred dollars as the exchange rate was different. When I mentioned this to the owner, asking him to be responsible for this difference he again made excuses asking me to wait, not seeing that he cost me $$$. I am extremely upset in how he handled this reservation and as I can see from his bookings he probably cancelled on us because he was offered a better price, not because he was having difficulties with his strata and was not able to rent his place … LIES LIES LIES. Paul has now stopped responding to my emails asking for my refund on the difference of exchange rates. Be careful when you book here .. if he is offered a better price you may find yourself out of a place ..

Excellent Accomodation and Location - highly recommended

We have literally returned today from a two week stay at this apartment. This review comes with my highest recommendation! In terms of accomodation it is spacious with two large marble bathrooms and plenty of storage to hang clothes. The kitchen is well supplied with pots and pans, crockery etc however, we rarely ate a meal at home which required more than a few dishes! There are plenty of sheets and pillows, sofas in various rooms so that we could all spread out. We were a party of 3 adults. Claudia is the main correspondent and is quick and timely with her replies to questions or emails. the booking process is smooth and the timely responses assures you of the bona fides of the owners. the apartment is clean, bright and there are a few basics provided eg soap, toilet paper, paper towels. Bath and kitchen towelling is provided. The location of the apartment is superb. On the corner of Spring and Bowery in Nolita it was two easy blocks away from Wholefoods which is where we bought our groceries and fresh fruit. up Spring and into Soho which is only a 5-10 minute easy walk you are in the heart of shopping, coffee shops, restaurants and bars. FANTASTIC location. We have stayed in the Times Square area in the past but never again - this is where we will return. The subway (Green line 4,5,6) was only a 5-10 minute walk. After shows we caught taxis back and the fare was only around $15. The Doorman organised a private car from Lucky cars and the ride to JFK cost $52, much cheaper than hiring a black car or Uber SUV. Other reviewers have commented on the noise and I would agree that as it is on busy Bowery there is a lot of street noise. Typically, traffic, sirens and horns blare for most of the night and it did take a week to get used to it and I resorted to purchasing silicone ear plugs, however, this is NYC and this is the noise of city living. This would not deter us from staying there again and I am quite a light sleeper. I had arrived prepared to use the gym however, we were out for most of the day and slept in on our slow days and so did not get to the gym at all. I can say, for an apartment gym it is very well equipped. Claudia will email instructions and a list of recommmended eateries. The laundry was not working in the apartment so we had to use the laundry in the basement using the card in the apartment. We topped it up- with a few dollars. Thank you Claudia and Paul for this outstanding accomodation! We will return one day.

Great location in downtown New Yoork

My wife and I stayed with another couple in this wonderfully located apartment. Clean with great facilities we enjoyed the walk down Spring Street, spoilt for choice with restaurants and cafes and walking distance to lots of lovely areas. Easy access to subway. Owners wonderfully helpful with suggestions of things to see and do. Would we stay there again? Absolutley without hesitation and would confidently recommend to others. Minor concerns - some street noise but this is downtown New York so have to expect that and whilst one bedroom has great king size bed the second bed is a double, needs to be at lease queen size. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Loved the condo and location

What an amazing view, great location, wonderful accommodations. The condo is perfect for two couples or a family of 5. It is such a treat to be right in the middle of all the action in Soho and great food in Little Italy Easy to get anywhere in Manhattan from here. Our adult kids loved it as much as we did. The owners go to great lengths to make sure you have everything you need and when a light burned out in the closet I just emailed them and they had their repair man come in and replace it that day. The gym is great (a little hot in temperature) but great equipment. I highly recommend this property and hope someday we will return to New York and stay here again. It is truly luxury living in Soho.

Great alternative to a hotel!

I am finally getting around to writing a review. This place was awesome. Great location, very convenient, accommodating front desk staff. Safe. We treated our son and daughter in law to a trip to NYC because she had never been and decided on an apartment as opposed to two hotel rooms as it was more comfortable and enable us more 'visit time'. The rental was well stocked with amenities (including umbrellas and guide books and I apologize but we used your coffee filters cause we forgot them at the Whole Foods which was just down the street!!!!) Okay, the good: Location, Location, Location. Steps from Little Italy, Whole Foods, a Wine Store and the subway stops. Beyond convenient. Oh, and some cool places to eat. A kitchen. (coffee and cheap breakfast for four). Superb digs. Loved your selection of movies when we wanted to unwind late in the evenings. Amenities: The gym and patio were great. Security was good. Wished the elevators were key activated. Loved that the gym required a key for entrance as I am an early morning exercise freak. Gym was great by the way; mostly had it to myself. Okay. So now the bad. Beware of the club downstairs. It is two doors down BUT if they have an 'event', it will be very, very loud. Probably shouldn't book a Saturday? Street noise on average every night of the week we were there was loud but it IS NYC so...I actually missed the noise when I got home so guess I got use to it. Wish the glass doors to the master had a curtain? For us prudes vacationing with our children? We got creative but no privacy. (unless you get creative or are exhibitionists). Overall, will definitely book this place next time we are in town. So much better than a hotel. My daughter in law truly felt like she was experiencing the essence and vibrance of NYC. Thanks for a great trip!!!!

Great Place

This is a fantastic and beautiful condo in a great area of Manhattan. It was convenient to the subway system which we got very proficient at using. Super close to Little Italy with too many choices to eat. The owners were very helpful with their recommendations of great restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Paul & Claudia!

Fantastic location

This appartment was a perfect location for us - family of three. Nolita is a very groovy but relaxed neighbourhood with great shopping, cafés and bars. Easy to find fantastic breakfast and brunch options and relaxed dining (live music) options sat the end of the day. The owners provided great local info too but it's hard to go wrong in Nolita. I would stay in this area again. We were out all day sightseeing and metro options from here are also excellent. The appartment is really comfortable and has lovely views. Bowery is a busy street and can be noisy for some - even on the ninth floor. Perhaps cooler bedding options because it was a very warm fall and the duvet/soon a provided was too heavy - a light blanket would have been great. But everything else was perfect. Thank you so much!
