About this property

Walk to Bay, Family + Dog Friendly, Fenced Yard, Beach Passes - 3BD/2BA

Welcome to the Sunny Sea Gull! We hope you enjoy this bay escape as much as our family does. We're new to VRBO - check us out on IG @thesunnyseagullmd for recent reviews!

Our end-unit townhome is in a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood that's just a 10-minute walk to the beach, boardwalk, playground, restaurants, live music and more in downtown North Beach.

Step inside the front door to the cozy, sun-soaked living room, a modern and fully-stocked kitchen, and dining area that opens up to a small deck and fenced-in yard perfect for pups.

On the second floor, you'll find the blue bedroom (twin over full bunk bed) and green bedroom (queen bed), which share a bathroom stocked with essentials for your stay.

The entire third floor is a large primary suite with a queen bed and ensuite bathroom, and plenty of space to set up your own dog bed or our pack-n-play (available to our guests at no cost - just ask!).

Another Summer with the Grand Daughters
Every year in mid-summer, my wife and I take our two grand daughters (9 and 7 this year) to another nearby location for a week between camps and school starting. This year it was North Beach, and we needed a rental by the beach and Chesapeake Beach's water park. Unfortunately, the water park was closed (maybe permanently), but we found plenty to do. We went to North Beach every day because the girls liked swimming in the jelly-free beach enclosure and the waves were gentle. We had passes from the rental and the walk was short and interesting. We went to Jefferson Patterson Park and kayaked (our boat) from their beach to our very own "deserted island' for a beach stay. We rode our bikes on the Chesapeake Beach Rail Trail and read all the signs. We saw crabs, fish, herons and egrets and an osprey on our ride. We went down to Solomons Island for the Calvert Marine Museum and rode the Wm B. Tennyson buy boat out on the Bay. We hiked 1.8 miles from the parking lot to Calvert Cliffs Beach and hunted for fossil shark teeth. Every night we stayed up late and watched movies (Boss Baby, Rise of the Red, etc.) All in all, it was a very good get away. The house was very comfortable and the girls loved the bunk beds. It was nice for us to have a third floor hideway when the silliness got a bit too silly. All the applicances and AC worked fine and we had a locked enclosure to store the bikes. Very nice accommodations.

Our visit
We enjoyed the unit very much. It was very clean and accommodating for our family. It had all the supplies we needed. We were short on toilet paper, although I know that's not listed as an item available, I was somewhat confused about the listing. Bedroom 1 was listed as having a queen bed. I didn't understand that that was in fact the 3rd floor spatial suite that had to be "asked for". It was very nice, just confusing. If I lived in the unit, I would put a "grab bar" in the 3rd floor bathroom. I would also have available a lounge type chair for the deck. The living area is small and that would create a more relaxing space on the deck. Thanks!

Home was very well equipped.
Everything needed for the family and our dog was available. We enjoyed having a fenced area for our dog. It is about 4-5 blocks from the town boardwalk but it’s a nice walk.

We have lived in Maryland for over a decade, and we love any chance we get to spend a few days in North Beach! Less than an hour from DC, this bay town is a wonderful escape from the city or a quaint home base if you want to explore a bit of the Chesapeake Bay, city life in DC or Baltimore, and all the landscapes in between.

Why they chose this property

We bought this home for our family to enjoy, and are thrilled to be able to share it with others. North Beach is a beautiful little bay town with great food, live music, and fun for a few days away with friends, family, or furballs — and sometimes all three!

What makes this property unique

Our end-unit townhome is in a quiet residential neighborhood that truly feels like a home away from home. With three floors, everyone can have their own space or gather together on the cozy main floor and back deck.
