About this property
Plus Couple Suite with mini kitchen
Ilhabela is an archipelago and we are on the main island, south region, to the right of the ferries, 8 km away. The neighborhood is officially called Ribeirão but is better known as Bexiga. We are next to Cachoeira do Paquetá and close to Grande, Julião, Veloso and Curral beaches (the most popular on the island). We have supermarkets and a pharmacy three blocks away, a safe location. We rent our lovingly designed suites to welcome guests who we intend to become our new friends.
As a courtesy, we offer indoor parking for up to 7 vehicles and all guests keep the keys. Next to the parking lot we have a leisure area with a barbecue. a garden and two parking entrances.
This suite is perfect for those who want a longer stay, as it has the advantage of a mini kitchen for preparing breakfast and quick meals. It has a terrace facing a small square in front of the building with views of the high mountains.
Our guests will have 3 keys for each suite, one for the suite, one for the staircase and one for the parking lot. Everyone has free access once installed and can leave and arrive at any time of the day or night, respecting silence towards other guests at night.
The reception is done by us owners Ivete and Danilo. We live in the space and provide assistance at any time of the day and night if needed, directly from the owners or via cell phone (WhatsApp).
Ilhabela is located on the north coast of São Paulo, 90 km from Ubatuba, 200 km from the city of São Paulo, 170 km from Paraty and 450 km from the city of Rio de Janeiro. The main route for those who want to visit Ilhabela is the ferry that leaves from São Sebastião and serves as the only means of public transport between the mainland and Ilhabela. Cars and motorbikes can also cross the ferry, meaning if you have a car, you can travel around Ilhabela with it.
To get to Ilhabela, you will need to use two different means of transport. This is because the ferry departs from São Sebastião and there are no airports in the region (only helipads). In other words, travel by road will be mandatory for almost all tourists, with the exception of those who use a private boat, helicopter or are already staying in São Sebastião.
The best airports to access Ilhabela for those living outside the state of São Paulo are: São José dos Campos Airport (SJK), 113 km away; Guarulhos Airport (GRU), 187 km away; Congonhas Airport (CGH) and Viracopos Airport (VCP), located in Campinas and 285 km from Ilhabela. From the three airports, you will need to travel to the city of São Sebastião, where the ferry leaves for Ilhabela.
The ferry that crosses the continent to Ilhabela departs from the city of São Sebastião and transports both passengers and vehicles. There are no bridges or airports connecting Ilhabela to the mainland, so the ferry is the most common means of getting between the two. The ferry is available 24 hours a day, every day of the week, with intervals that vary, on average, from half an hour to an hour.
To cross the ferry to Ilhabela, simply go through the toll gate (as if it were a toll booth) and follow the queue for the ferry. Drivers are instructed on where to stop their vehicle and the crossing only takes thirty minutes. Without a queue, the whole process will be very quick. The problem occurs on days with a large flow of tourists, such as holidays and school vacation periods, when queues for the crossing can take hours. In these cases, the most recommended option is to pay for the scheduled service, in which you define the ferry crossing time in advance and avoid queuing. Of course, convenience comes at a price: the crossing to Ilhabela by appointment costs almost four times more than the normal crossing. On the other hand, there will be no waiting hours.

Anyone traveling to the north coast of São Paulo by car needs to take some precautions. The roads are of excellent quality, but with a lot of tolls and full of radars for speed control. There are so many that it is common for drivers to accumulate enough points to lose their driver's license on the same trip. Pay attention to electronic inspection warnings and do not exceed the speed of the stretch of road. It is extremely common to get fines on the roads heading towards the north coast of São Paulo.
Another factor that must be observed when traveling is the high season period in Ilhabela and the entire coast of SP. On busy days, it is common for the road to be highly congested and the ferry crossing to take hours, forming kilometer-long queues of cars trying to reach Ilhabela. In this case, try to avoid the busiest times on the road and prefer to buy the ferry pass by appointment. The cost will be higher, but the waiting time will be fine.
