Rustic outside, cute and colorful inside, this cozy vacation home is located in the private, amenity filled community of Towamensing Trails with 24-hour security patrols. Tree filled property feels like you are the only one on the mountain, yet you’re a short drive to major area attractions like Jim Thorpe, Pocono Speedway, Jack Frost, Big Boulder, white water rafting, world class paint ball, fishing, casinos, and night life at Split Rock.

Comfortably furnished and decorated, you will feel your tensions float away as you relax in front of the brick fireplace. The house sleeps 6 in three double beds. Bed linens are provided. The well-appointed kitchen includes the customary dishes, silverware, microwave, pots and pans, but also has a coffee pot, toaster, air pot, electric beaters and crock pot. Enjoy cable TV and wi-fi, including premium channels. Or use the home’s game, book and movie collection.

Four seasons of relaxation and fun! In winter, snow sports are a short drive away. In spring, enjoy the beautiful mountain blooms while you shoot hoops on the basketball court, play tennis or romp with the kids in the children’s playground. In summer, bring the family to the outdoor pool, kiddie pool, or white sand beach on the 192 acre stocked lake (PA fishing license req'd) where canoes and paddleboats are available for rental. In fall, enjoy the majestic foliage of the famed Pocono Mountains. In any season, have a great time at the arcade with video games, air hockey and pool tables!

Cozy cabin

We had a nice stay, although only for one night. We were traveling from New Orleans and got in very late. There is an insane amount of fog and very little lighting, so driving was difficult. The cabin itself was nice and cozy, and very clean.The neighborhood was very quiet. The only concern is that we didnt find any bath towels.

Cold and uncomfortable

We were at a two day wrestling tournament and needed a place to stay after the first day. We got to the house around 9:30 pm and it was 40 degrees. It took over four hours for the temp to get to a comfortable level. Also, I didn’t realize no towels were provided and we had to run out and get some. It was a clean place but cold and uncomfortable.

Place was in a great location, interior tables are very loose(glass coffee table and kitchen table) Afraid the glass one might break if bumped. Exterior deck is in need of repairs, rotting areas

Festival

We stayed at this property to attend a nearby festival and was perfect for our needs. The accommodations were clean and the check in process easy. Two of the beds were comfortable but the third was in need of a new mattress. The deck was also in need of some attention as there were some loose boards causing a couple of us to trip while crossing it. We did not use the kitchen appliances or the cookware available at the house. The water was hot and clean and the bathroom fixtures all functioning properly. The home was also easy to adjust the temperature with the newer zone thermostats. Overall, the property could use some updates but was a great choice for our group.

Disappointing

Lacked basic things that would have made a huge difference: matches for the fireplace, wood for the fireplace, towels in the bathroom, more than 1 roll of toilet paper, a welcome packet with information, sugar, ice tray in freezer, racks on fridge door, batteries for TV remote... Rugs anyplace would make it more cozy and furniture that isn't broken (coffee table) would be more comfortable.

Value property

The property was clean on the inside and was ok for our one overnight stay. A little dated and seemed some things in need of repair The outside appearance had me a bit worried with dead trees, debris and what appeared to the beginnings of some wood rot on the cabin. Weekend getaway

Just a short weekend get away from normal life, went to Jim Thorpe for a day and relaxed at the cottage the following day, kitchen had everything I needed to cook a full meal, just had to wash the dishes before we used them as they had food residue on them, and make sure you bring a roll of toilet paper with as there was very little in the roll. Using the microwave and air conditioner at same time tripped the fuse and be careful on the deck as there are a few loose boards, all the little things really weren’t bothersome, hated lugging the trash to the trash receptacles but seeing all the deer in the yard was nice and seeing a bear and her two cubs was the best end to our trip. My grandson who is 5 thought it was so cool watching a small black and white old fashioned tv in his room. If we ever decide to come back we’d be sure to stay here again

Good for what we needed

My girlfriend and I stayed for 1 night with my dog, which was all we needed. The listing was accurate, Communication with the owner was great and check-in was easy. The downsides: The grass was high; Deck was in rough shape and the cottage had a weird odor and was musty. My eyes got irritated that evening and was hard to sleep. Not sure if there were cats at some point. Overall, Like I said, it was good for what we needed.

Horrifying

I need to contact you about a refund. It was filthy the cleaners came after us. We found mouse poop on every bed and the flooring. Dead bugs covered the floor in front of the sliders. They definitely didn't clean before we came. We left and got a hotel room.

Rustic cabin weekend

The cabin was nice. Great location and friendly neighborhood. Beds were the worst part, none were comfortable and saw better days. Redeeming aspect was the shower water pressure, very pleased. Overall worth the money and great host!

Pocono cottage

The cottage had 9 air fresheners.. Some rooms had 2 types in it. The smell was horrible. The surfaces on tables were not cleaned and in our bedsheets were specks of brown debris..

We were never given the badges we needed to get into the community area, ie. pool and beach. This badge also allowed us to drop off the garbage at the end of our stay, but we were told we could just leave the bagged garbage in the kitchen, which worked. The grill was a charcoal grill and rusty.

Exactly as advertised

We wanted a no frills cabin in the woods and we got one at a great cost. No issues. No complaints. I know from experience the development has rigid guidelines about how to dispose of trash (you need to bring it to their designated area); all parking and trash passes were there upon arrival. I would book again.

It was Okay

Well, it was pretty much as anticipated. There is a reason it’s a good $200 less then other places in the area. Regardless, it was what I expected. However, there was some toilet paper (I had to get my own), WiFi (trouble connecting initially), a lack of trash bags (had to use a shopping bag) and Parking pass issues. Also, the deck and stairs were covered in ice and snow. I was only there for a night, for an event, so it was a short stay and they weren’t ‘serious’ issues for me, but they might be for you. Also, remember, bed linens are included but towels are not, including kitchen hand towels. Overall, Bob (the owner) was easy to talk to and quick to reply. It was a little creaky and basic, but it was warm with good hot water in an excellent location.

Definitely visit Jim Thorpe- only a 20 min drive. During the winter at night this quaint little city decorates nicely for Christmas. The cabin house could use renovations but it’s cleanliness & easy to use fireplace made up for it. We liked the privacy between neighbors. Our cell phones did not work well here which we didn’t mind at all. If you’re looking for quiet, secluded & don’t mind old- this is the place for city folks to unwind :-)
