Very clean and comfortable. Loved the Japanese tradition of taking shoes off in mudroom before entering, which prevents any yucky stuff tracking in on shoes. We were there for a pickleball tournament so it was convenient to venue as well as a very restful stay after a long hot day running around. Basically a 2 bedroom hotel room in a quiet neighborhood. It was perfect for our needs.
Loved every single thing about the property until realizing the difficulty of trying to function with a 15 month old, and the struggles of having to go upstairs to the bathroom to wash out sippy cups / bottle. The interior stairs are also dangerously slippery if wearing socks, although the hardwood floors are beautifully polished. Highly recommend that a rug be placed at foot of steps because the last step blends in with the floor for those not wearing their glasses.
Our family decided to spend the weekend in Denver for our son’s birthday, and so we booked this property for our stay.
The good: The house was easy to find, in a nice neighborhood, clean, comfortable, and as advertised (mostly. It states that it has a “kitchenette” however no sink, stove or even a hot plate, so kitchenette is a very generous term for a table with a coffee pot and a microwave.)
The major flaw: the reason that I must give this property such a low rating is that the house is a shared home (not such a big deal), and the door which separates the vacation rental from the other home is an etched glass pocket door, which leaves basically zero privacy!
That evening as we were sitting in the living room, I saw the light turn on in the adjacent space and a man’s shadow walked by. My wife expressed an immediate desire to leave, and had we the option, we would have left immediately. Then, that night, I could hear all sorts of noises coming from the neighbor (nothing bad, just zero privacy), and assumed that they could also hear everything. The other unnerving thing was that our side had no lock, so the people in the other space actually could come in at any time without our knowledge. I woke up several times over the course of the two nights thinking that I was hearing something at that pocket door, so we put chairs next to the door so that if someone did come in, it would at least alert us.
I urge the owner to replace the pocket door with a two doors, immediate.
