Friendship is a quaint little neighborhood on the east end of the city nestled between Shadyside and Bloomfield. Approximately a 10-minute drive from Downtown Pittsburgh, Friendship lives up to its name and has a strong sense of community. The Friendship Community hosts a variety of events throughout the year, like the Friendship Flower & Folk Festival, an annual celebration with music, an art market, a book sale, and sustainable gardening demos. Along with grocery stores, like Whole Foods in walking distance and locally owned restaurants. Residents have plenty of options for shopping, dining, and nightlife in nearby neighborhoods like Shadyside and Bloomfield. Friendship is close to the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, and Chatham University. The neighborhood is also near some of the city’s best green spaces, like Highland Park, home of the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium.
