Idyllic location with a 10 minute walk to private association beach, just around the bend from Lambert’s Cove. Sheltered porch overlooking garden and big, beautiful yard. Spaces for outdoor dining, lounging, and showering. Comfortable beds and linens and open plan communal space including a well equipped chef’s kitchen. Lovely flow from inside to outside.

My husband and I met at design school and have been designing, renovating, and building residences since then. This house has been long in the making, built from the ground up in an absolutely gorgeous and serene area of Martha’s Vineyard. It boasts lovely indoor/outdoor flow, handcrafted details, and custom built-ins. It’s been a labor of love.

Why they chose this property
Makonikey is a gem on an island full of gems! It is in a great location, just a 7 minute drive from Vineyard Haven, a 10 minute walk to a stunning association beach, and right around the corner Lambert’s Cove, Seth’s Pond, and the trails at Blackwater Pond. You can spend every sunrise and sunset strolling the quiet beach (and we frequently do).
What makes this property unique
Our house is custom crafted by us (with, admittedly, a lot of help) and great care was put into every decision. There is a wraparound porch looking out onto a big, beautiful yard and garden and many places to relax and take in the beauty that is Martha’s Vineyard. It is not extravagant or fancy, but resides in a place of quiet luxury.
