Why they chose this property

On the Windfall is part of the Eldreth Homestead circa 1800. The Eldreths farmed the property until the mid 1900s raising cattle, crops, and children. Some of the Eldreth descendants live in Ashe County today. They will occasionally stop by the old cabin on Little Windfall Rd. and share stories of the snowy winters and several mile treks on foot to replenish supplies of staples from the Husk Store. The family cemetery is on the property. The cottages were named after Deputy Sheriff Arthur, Granpy Aut and Amanda Eldreth, Granny Mandy.

What makes this property unique

Our 215 acre farm is a working farm, NC Wildlife Habitat, and Audubon Land Bird Sanctuary. Our pond is spring fed and there you will find a common gathering area complete with under roof, outdoor living room, restrooms, games, and more.
