Put lipstick on a pig

The place looked nice when we finally got in, then the smell started. The place absolutely REEKED. We had to plug our nose each time we entered. Not sure if it’s mold/mildew/air conditioner unit, but something smells awful. Got worse everyday that we were there. The building was under repair and the main elevator was out. There was an illegible handwritten note on the front entrance that referred to another elevator somewhere. We had to carry all 4 of our suitcases up all 5 stories on the stairs to our room. We found out later that there is another small elevator on the other side of the building that exited on the back alley. The hot water didn’t work the first 2 days that we were there. When we inquired about it, we got a notification that oh yeah, forgot to tell you the gas was going to be repaired, and the hot water would be out for several days. The shower valve to switch it from the tub to the shower head doesn’t seal properly, so there was no water pressure when it finally was hot. Would not stay here again.
