The cabin was very clean and in the perfect location. We saw deer every morning and evening. The outdoor seating and grill were appreciated as well. Communication with the property manager was very impressive.
The cabin was great! Very clean and modern, with attention to detail.
It was private and close to hiking trails, which was one of the main reasons we booked here.
We would highly recommend staying here!
We enjoyed our stay very much! Great amenities and beautiful surroundings. Hosts were prompt with communication and helpful. Very clean and newly remodeled cabin!
The cabin was clean...super clean. It was the perfect size for 2 people and the location was great. Loved the proximity to Lake Monte Verde and trailheads! The only negative I have about it was the furniture. While it was very nice looking it was not very comfortable. Its ok though, we just spent most of our time outside in the back in the Adirondack chairs! Overall, it was a great place to stay and much more convenient and affordable than the rental homes.
There was a very nice vacantino
After a long drive they let us do an early check in
Greate location, just minutes away from Angel Fire Resort.
I definitely recommend this place
Cute place, convenient to Angel Fire and Red River
I booked the place before realizing that both Angel Fire and Red River ski areas (where we had "free" reciprocal season passes) would be closing before our stay. The location was otherwise fine, and I liked the layout and features of the cabin. The "goodies" in the kitchen (coffee and chocolate) were a nice touch. The kitchen was well-stocked except for measuring cups and spoons.
Unfortunately, it was evident that the cleaning person is not very detail-oriented. There were long cobwebs in the kitchen and one of the bedrooms, easy-to-clean spots on the kitchen floor, a used dishwasher pod in the bottom of the dishwasher, no soap in the bathroom dispenser, and crumbs on a stool and the futon. The bar soap in the bathroom was essentially glued to the frame of the mirror and I had to break it off. All these could have been resolved easily with a detailed cleaning. The linens were fine.
The cabin is overdue for some maintenance - cracked floor tiles and grout, a non-functional bathroom fan, numerous dings in the walls that need mud and paint. Fireplace instructions would also be nice. I'm not sure if the flame is functional, but the heat worked.
This was our second year in a row to stay in Wolf 2. The property is starting to show it’s age, however the owners are doing a great job of remodeling/renovating their cabins. The cabins are clean and appointed with everything you would need for a short stay… if there’s something else you need, the property manager is eager to please. This is our go to when skiing at Angel Fire and we will stay with them again. 5 minute drive to the ski area. Beautiful property with wildlife. Quiet. Comfortable.
This is our second time to stay with Aly. She simply does not disappoint. She is personable and thorough with her communication. The place is clean, with great attention to details-big & small.
Fully equipped kitchen for those days you would prefer to stay in. Great location for the days you want to get out and about.
See ya next year ;)
We had such a great time exploring everything around our cabin! It had all we needed plus we asked for a few things and they brought them to our door. Highly recommend using the chiminea for some great pics! The deer surprised us everyday, even coming onto our porch! We would definitely come stay again!
Pros:
- Super setting - hiking trails right out the door
- Responsive host
- Super comfortable beds
- Very clean
Cons:
- Futon couch not comfortable for sitting
- "Fireplace" is actually an electric/visual item - no fire
- Heating and water heating systems are located in the cabin and are loud
We loved our stay and especially feeding the deer each morning. We will definitely come again. Would be nice to have had a washer and dryer as listed on the website but the cabin and property were nice and comfortable. Wonderful location away from the hustle and bustle of the resorts. Christmas decorations were a nice touch.
Wea sk for Christmas tree inside the cabin and we were surprised we found one when we cAme! Clean cabin, pillows smells good, all essentials are found in the kitchen with salt pepper chocolates. Loved the tall trees and deer all over the place very friendly! We loved to come back!
The scenery was idyllic and the property managers were so helpful and quick to respond. Surrounded by so much natural beauty and the cabin was clean and super cozy. The bedding and towels were great and the kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, pots, pans and any utensil needed. The only disappointment was that the fireplace was just lights. I thought it would be a gas fire from the pictures, but no. Still very lovely and cozy and the outdoor chiminea was great and our kids loved making s'mores at it. I would highly recommend (and already have to friends) this place to anyone looking for a cozy escape.
This property was magical. Our family was delighted by the wild life. The beds and linens were so clean and super comfortable. Any and all cooking utensils were present and seemed brand new. The property owners were easy to get ahold of and very communicative.
Totally recommend this place for a getaway!
Great little cabin although very squeaky floor. Only other complaint is that I did a self cleaning prior to my family going into the cabin and I literally had 10 paper towels that were black and covered with dust which made me question how thoroughly they actually cleaned between guests.
I wanted to get away in the mountains for a few days and the Retreat at Angel Fire was perfect. Hiking opportunities were close by. The cabins are spaced appropriately so you won't feel like you're crowed by another cabin. I saw lots of wildlife while just sitting at my cabin. That was very nice.
