About this property

Unique 'original' Newport Beach house. Take a trip back in time, and stay in a house built and owned by the same family since 1910.

5th house from the beach on 27th St. 5 minute walk to Newport Pier, Grocery Store, Restaurants, Shopping. 5 min drive to Balboa Fun Zone, Arcades, Boat Rentals, Fishing Charters, Harbor Cruises, Whale Watching Tours, Fashion Island Shopping.

The famous surf beach, "Blackies" is right out front. Many famous surfing spots are close by (Huntington Beach, The Wedge).

One of VERY few houses this close to the beach with a backyard.

Back bedroom is furnished with a full bed and a twin. Front bedroom has a full bed. Both bedrooms have closets. Front sleeping porch has a full bed and a sofa that folds out to a full bed. The living room has a sectional sofa and recliner which we steam-clean regularly.

Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm are just 20 minutes away.

Great place and location.

Seems to be harder to find homes on the beach front that aren’t massive. This was the perfect place. I am used to staying down further from the pier about 42nd street. But I am now sold on being closer to the stores and restaurants. This house had everything we needed. Will be coming back.

Family Beach time

We loved our stay, perfect and close to the sand. Never needed to use my car just walked locally. Met some amazing people 2 houses down that were for the week. Can't wait to go back next summer.

Cutest Cottage Ever!

Such a cute cottage - loved the history of it as presented in the decor. It had ample space for 6 of us, was clean, well-stocked with the necessities, and the location was fabulous! We will definitely stay here again. Thank you for making our stay easy, convenient, and so fun!

Buckeye Bungalow

We had a fantastic time at this sweet cottage. We loved having a cute sandy backyard for when our kids weren't at the beach. Close to the beach, shops, and restaurants.....we had a blast! This place had everything, so well stocked...loved it.

Charming beach getaway

So close to beach the backyard is sand! Lots of kids toys and bikes, beach chairs in garage. Note: only fits 2 smaller cars but during week easy parking on street. Kids immediately started playing with toys and didnt make it into house for a while Beds comfortable, everything clean, no dishwasher so you do that. Pier, shops and restaurants just a short walk down the boardwalk. It was lovely and beautiful weather after morning fog burned off Would definitely do again

Just bring you...

This house was absolutely wonderful. They have spared no expense making sure that anything you could need for a nice beach getaway is already there. From towels and beach toys to perfect spaces to lay your head. Everything was wonderful and clean. Can't wait to make this a yearly trip and hopefully even longer next time. Thank you Matt for the wonderful experience. Also loved all the family history in the home. Made it feel even more cozy.

Love time at the beach

The location is great. The listing is totally accurate. Look at the pictures. This a cute little cottage that is just steps from the beach. We took walks along the beach to the pier. We walked to local restaurants and had a great time. The bathroom is small like the one I grew up with - no just a sink, tub and toilet and a little bit of storage. The wi-fi worked well.

Great little house

This house was perfect for our little family of 4. The house is perfectly located to the beach and we were able to walk to all our favorite spots. The house had everything we needed and the backyard and garage were a great bonus. Would gladly stay here again!!

I, Matt, am a high school teacher living in Fullerton, and my twin sister, Becky, works for her husband's family business in Upland. We both have young families and enjoy staying at the beach house whenever we can.

Our family has owned this property since 1910. We are blessed to own it as it has provided four generations of fun and fond memories. We are excited to share our modest, lovely cottage with you. Come, stay, relax, and make memories again and again.

What makes this property unique

Although the beach is just steps away, we also enjoy sunbathing with our favorite beverages in our private backyard. If someone has had enough sun, he or she can move to the shade of the brilliant natural canopy of our beautiful bougainvillea... and oh, that Pacific Ocean air!
