The space
The Kingsley Grist Mill is a national historic site and museum that is not open to the public, is only available to one guest group of up to four adults and young adults at a time. For safety and logistical reasons, children 1 to 10 years of age are not permitted*.
Infants under 1 yr. may attend.

*The interior and totally private space consists of more than 3,000 sq. ft. of mind bending solid first generation hemlock grain bins, chutes and ladders. These and other never before used architectural elements, invented by the legendary covered bridge builder Nicholas Montgomery Powers, have been selected by Architectual Digest as one of the top seven best examples on Netflix. Some of the oldest interior elements in the Kingsley Grist Mill, such as the downstairs bathroom door, date back to 1778 when the post Revolutionary War Crary house was first constructed on this site.
All four stories of the Mill's main structure are yours to explore and embrace exclusively, including two chained and cantilevered river decks ( featured in Achitectural Digest's "Deck & Patio Idea Book", Taunton Press ),
with 30 ft. and 60 ft. views respectively of Mill river's 150 ft. carved waterfall directly below.
For more details, please read the captions that are posted with our photos and visit YouTube (search: Kingsley Grist Mill historic tour)

Extraordinary Location and Hosts

The gristmill is a very unique place! It is surrounded by a breath-taking natural area, and the building has been lovingly restored and has so many interesting details to explore. We had an amazing time checking out both our comfortable accommodations and the very fun and beautiful river. Not only is the Kingsley Gristmill property truly spectacular, but the hosts are beyond super hosts. Ron and Linda anticipate everything you would need- They provide a delicious breakfast each morning, tubes for floating in the river, and make excellent recommendations about food and activities in the area, all while maintaining your privacy. Do not hesitate to book a stay! We hope to return, and we will definitely take Ron up on a concert. He was kind enough to show us his extensive vinyl collection and the sound quality on his sound system is unbelievable.
