Nestled in a serene and quiet neighborhood, between two quaint towns of Park Rapids and Detroit Lakes. The house has 3 bedrooms; one king bed and two queen beds, you'll have plenty of space to relax and unwind. Whether you're exploring the lake or just taking it easy in the cozy beach, The Lake House provides the perfect rustic, nature retreat in north woods of Minnesota. We are rural and you should expect to have mother nature just outside. Deer roam through the yard, birds chirping, insects, butterflies and moths, frogs hopping, and all that you would imagine from mother nature.

You can enjoy a circular seating area with a firepit, nestled below the hill next to the swim beach. The front yard is nice and flat for your favorite yard games and ample parking for your trailer. Fishing is excellent right off the dock. Plus, with three kayaks, three paddleboards, a paddleboat, swim raft, and various water toys available for you to use, you'll never run out of things to do.

The boat launch and second swimming beach are just 1.5 miles down the road, directly across from the property. And if you're looking for some land adventures, there's walking and hiking trails nearby in the Smokey Hills State Forest! When it comes to dining, some of the best places are within a 15-minute drive and are also accessible via snowmobile and four wheeler/UTV trail systems. Smokey Hills State Forest OHV and Two Inlets State Forest connects to many miles of state and local trail systems, the trail head is just a half miles away with easy access.

We hope you enjoy your time at The Lake House and create unforgettable memories!

Couldn't be more compfy!

We stayed late October. Beautiful setting, yet would like to return a little earlier in the season to be able to enjoy the water and all the amenities this listing offers! The house is very welcoming, comfortable, CLEAN, wonderful linens, etc. Nothing broken or missing that we know of. So great that they leave spaces open for you to put your things - walk-in closets, uncluttered tables, kitchen island, large dining table, etc. Three ladies really enjoyed our stay there, didn't need a single thing. Will DEFINITELY return.

Wonderful, restful, beautiful

What a wonderful place to stay and relax! The house is a good size and has just about everything you need, from a fully equipped kitchen to the shed full of outdoors toys. The kids really loved the kayaks, paddleboards and especially the pedalboat. The fishing was good and there were very few people on the lake; most of the time we were the only people on the lake. The water seemed a bit chilly for swimming, but it did not stop the kids from being in the water and on the swimming raft. The yard is large and very private, with two different firepit areas (one in the yard and one down the stairs next to the lake). It was so very nice to find a basket full of snacks and a handwritten letter to our family from the host. What a special surprise! They also had a small box of "essential items in case you forgot anything". There were so many details that Nathan and Angel thought of for their guests! Cellular service was a bit spotty for our carrier (Mint), but At&T seemed to be fine when our nephew stopped in for a visit. I would highly recommend this place. We all think this was one of the very best houses we have rented we have been in. Thank you Nathan and Angel!

Beautiful Northern Bliss

Absolutely loved this property - beautiful view and location! It is located right on a beautiful quiet lake. It was fully stocked with practically everything we needed and more. The hosts were fantastic with communication/quick to respond, easy to work with, understanding, and it was such an enjoyable weekend with family. You will have everything you need for a great lakeside stay - kayaks, paddle boards, paddle boat, life jackets, tubes, fishing gear, corn hole, boat with a trolling motor (of note: takes 12-18 hours to charge the battery, found that out after the stay from the hosts - battery died on us while in the far end of the lake and had to row back. There are oars in the boat to use as a backup, which we were thankful for), fully stocked kitchen with pots/pans, etc., cozy bedrooms, 2 firepits with wood and chairs and solar powered lights, and much more. Angel and Nathan have put a lot of work into this property and it shows. Would 10/10 recommend and look forward to coming back here again someday! Also, easy to get to with the directions given by host and phone GPS. Very pretty drive from the Twin cities, ~4 hours away! While there, check out Ed at Streepers Kennels nearby - we went on a chariot ride and had a great time, bumpy but scenic and a unique experience, would recommend. Heard that the dog mushing rides are fun to do here in the winter. Also, Ice Cracking lodge has some great food and drinks!

Girls Getaway

Pictures don’t do it justice. The serenity and privacy of this best kept secret in MN needs to go on your bucket list but only if you want to find respite from your mundane life of work and noise. There were so many pleasant surprises throughout the home that made it so separate from anywhere we’ve been. How adequately this place was supplied was meticulously thought through. Hard to come across anywhere that exceeds expectations. The water is as clear as can be. Had the best weather conditions and swimming and kayaking were the bonus of making time in the amazing quaint lake so special. Host was quick to reply when I had a question prior to arriving. Nothing can hold us back from returning. Our stay was from July 17-21st. The four of us longtime gaggle of girlfriends found it difficult to leave.

The perfect get-away

On a scale of 1-10, I would give this place an 11. Beautiful location, clean and with plenty to do. Great location from which to take day trips and still get back in time to enjoy the lake with kayaks provided. Perfect weather the whole time and no mosquitoes. We definitely would choose this gem if back in the area again.

Great peaceful and cozy lake getaway!

We loved our stay at The Lake House. It was just as the pictures show. The house was cute and had great sunset views. We fished and were able to kayak on the open water. It was so peaceful and a great stay to get away from busy day to day life. We saw lots of wildlife and went for a couple nearby hikes. I enjoyed bonfires at night, baths in the big bathtub, sunrises and sunsets down but the lake, and read and drank coffee by the lake on quiet mornings listening to nature wake up around us. Such a great spot. We plan to go back for sure. Thank you for a great getaway. You have a gorgeous spot there! 💓

Hi there! We're the fourth generation of our family to own this lake property, and we love it here. We've made so many great memories over the years, and we're excited to be able to share it with you.

The lake house is located on a small, quiet lake with access to some great trail systems. It's the perfect place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We like to keep things casual around the lake and end our evenings with an evening fire.
We've recently updated the lake house, but kept some of the original charm. We want you to feel like you're part of our family when you stay here, relaxed and comfortable!

We looking forward to hearing from you soon!
