Arriving in a new city can sometimes feel overwhelming, but from the moment we arrived, all our stress melted away. The check-in process was super easy and intuitive, and we were greeted by a beautifully cleaned space that smelled fresh—like it was brand new!The location couldn’t have been better, with coffee spots, late-night pizza, and a few other must-see places just around the corner. It’s perfect for anyone wanting to be in the heart of it all. That said, since it's a lower-level apartment right off the street, it can get a bit noisy at times, but it wasn’t a deal-breaker and didn't affect our sleep.Overall, we had an amazing stay and would definitely book here again. It checked all the boxes for a comfy, convenient, and fun stay. Our only tiny hiccup was with the links the host sent via DM—they weren't hyperlinked, which made it a bit tricky to use the third-party Guesty links, but it’s a super minor thing in the grand scheme of things! If you're planning to visit Chicago, this place is definitely worth considering!
We very much enjoyed our stay. The location was great and the place was pretty quiet! The access to the train was easy and there were plenty of restaurants and spots to grab coffee.
Excellent location, extremely helpful manager and clean unit. The only thing missing were plates which was odd since there were bowls, silverware and other kitchen supplies. Overall very happy with the unit and will definitely rent again.
Perfect place for our group of six for a few days getaway. Great location.
Great coffee shops on each corner and the best Mexican food one building over.
Communication with the property manager was always prompt and helpful.
Great experience. Thank you!
This place is right in the middle of the Lincoln Park mix. Everything I needed was provided as advertised while visiting my adult kids. Easy access to the best neighborhood restaurants, attractions. Manual in the unit was helpful in finding the best local parking, restaurants, music, etc.
Great communication with mgmt.
Thanks Dan. Hope to be back soon.
You could not ask for a better location to explore Chicago. Quick drive to all the sights. Apartment was very clean and well equipped.
A great vacation spot!
This was my husband's 1st time in Chicago. I wanted to take him to Wrigley so we stayed in Wrigleyville/Lincoln park area. He immediately fell in love and said "I could live here"
The apartment was centrally located to many eateries, the metro and pubs etc. It was exactly what we were looking for. Great trip!
Dan’s home worked great for our family. The house was clean. It was nice to have 2 bathrooms. The location felt safe. It is on a busy street. No dedicated parking, but we were able to use Spot Hero and also some free street parking within a few blocks.

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in, communication
Great location, difficult check in
This house is wonderfully located in Lincoln Park. The accommodations are exactly as pictured and described in the listing. If you do not mind getting your check-in information one hour prior to check in, and if you have access to Wi-Fi and a computer at that point, you will be fine. We had our phones and could not click on the link to get into the unit. Also, I wanted to speak with Dan, who is listed as the landlord, and I could not get anyone to actually call me..
Pro:
Great location with cool restaurants and bars nearby.
Close to the “L” and walkable to Wrigley Field
Basic but ample kitchen
Competitive pricing
Con:
Was unable to find any free parking close by. Either paid or permit controlled.
Contrary to some reviews the unit is on a busy street and pretty noisy
Unable to repair the entry light during a 4 day stay-thankful for phone flashlights
Spacious, very clean, and comfortable. It is located on a busy street, but the property is not facing the street. So it was not noisy. It had the convenience of public transportation. We did not use the kitchen very much, but it was a full kitchen.
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.
The location was excellent on this property. Walking distance to so many great food/coffee places. Also felt very safe.
It is pretty bare bones, no kitchen towels, no laundry soap. Very hotel feel as far as the "extras" provided. Just bar soap, shampoo, conditioner and dishwasher soap.
The place needs updates, the blinds are cheap and dirty, the walls need to be painted, closet doors are broken. The front bedroom is just a few feet from the road so it is quite loud. It didn't bother us as we use a sound machine, but just so you are aware. The living room furniture is completely different than what the pictures show and the outdoor space is not desireable.
I did reach out to the owner about a few of the poor reviews and did not hear back. We were nervous since we did not hear back from him, however, there were no bad smells. :) Everything seemed very clean, as in sanitized, just needs some basic updates.
Lastly, the parking was not a big deal for us. You can park right in front of the unit from 10pm to 9am and Sunday's are free parking all day. We moved our car in front of the unit sometimes during those hours. We also found ample free parking within a block of the unit and our car was fine in that spot for several days. The train is a few blocks and we utilized that for all of our visit.
I do not like leaving anything but glowing reviews, but my family and I have used this VRBO all over the country, and were pretty underwhelmed over the course of our stay. I say “bare minimum” because these owners/hosts need to stay for one weekend to understand what it feels like to call it home away from home. The bunk beds were broken—the top bunk was unstable to the point my boys couldn’t sleep in it as designed. Two bolts in the wall connected to the bed would have fixed that. Two of the beds didn’t have mattress pads, no trash cans in either of the bedrooms OR one of the bathrooms? No kitchen towels, just paper towels. No blackout shades on any of the bedroom windows, just cheap blinds. No laundry detergent or fabric softener to be seen. The place had the bare essentials, but nothing warm to make us feel like we should, including any checkup from the host to see if everything was to cool.
However, it was safe, clean, and we found the basics ok. Each time we’ve used Vrbo I’m enthusiastic about leaving perfect reviews, and we can feel that a host wants to earn their rating and want to possibly improve for the next customer. It would be a disservice to those hosts to give this review the same amount of love.
I’ve never left a negative review of a VRBO property, but our experience here was so horrible that we need to share.
1. Location: Apartment is on the ground floor, about 6 feet back from the street, and the street lights flood into the front bedroom. Front door is down an unlit, narrow alley.
2. Cleanliness: Floors of the unit were very dirty, dishes/cups/mugs from previous guest were still dirty and sticky, blood stains (not kidding) on the bed sheets in the front room, curly black hair on the bathroom towels and rugs. Notice the bathroom floors are not shown in the pictures - that is for a reason.
3. Bunk bed was unstable and I would not recommend keeping more than 1 person in it. Couches are different than shown. There is no patio or balcony in this unit as pictured.
4. Host texted my personal cell threatening to call the police and arrest us for false noise complaints, around 1 am. We could hear people upstairs and outside arguing, and the host tried to blame us for it.
5. Sewage leak/backup, horrible diarrhea smell, our family had to evacuate Saturday night and stay in a hotel because the smell was so potent we were concerned for our health and safety. Host knew we had to stay in a hotel and had to leave the unit.
6. Host tried bargaining one night free for a good review, and denied the sewage smell even though we saw maintenance had come to the unit when the smell was still there.
After we left the unit, the host stopped responding.
