It consists of 3 spacious bedrooms, two marble bathrooms, a fully equipped modern kitchen with detached sitting and dining room, a comfortable lounge and one unique atmospheric loft. The house offers two balconies and one roof terrace with barbeque equipment. Windows, balconies and terrace offer a magnificent view to the town. Perfectly located just in the center of Historic Old Town of Chania. Only a few steps away from the cosmopolitan Venetian Harbor and the famous Lighthouse. A charming area surrounded by traditional restaurants, bars, clubs, popular art and souvenir stores, museums and churches. Only a few minutes walking distance you can find the oldest shopping center in Chania, the Famous Market of 'Agora' and all public transportation services.

Great Location

The house is wonderful. Clean, modern, quiet, and comfortable. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Old Town. Please note that you cannot access the house by car, even though Google maps and Apple maps will try to guide you through pedestrian walkways. You have to park your car outside of the Old Town, then walk a short distance to the house, but it is well worth it!

Dorotheou House is ideally situated in the heart of Chania Old Town. Full of light and space, it is a lovely place to stay with everything you need.

Excellent stay at Dorotheou Luxury house

The house is superbly located in old town chania. The photos show it well. Extremely spacious for our family of 4. Loved stepping out the door right into the thick of things. Old town is so lovely and charming.Having said that, the house windows were excellent at blocking outside noise. Only down side was 7 am ringing of church bells that was not blocked out. This was no fault of house owner though. Yannis and Nassos were great and so easy to deal with. They answered my emails promptly. As there is no parking in Old Town, as promised they arranged parking in a garage about 10-15 min walk away. This worked out so well for us and they arranged great pricing. We had pre-arranged to meet Yannis when we arrived. As promised, he was there waiting for us and eager to assist us in settling in. He provided information as to bus schedules, local sites, restaurants etc. The cleaners came twice during our stay. We were given notice and again, seamless. Yannis told me the house is rented often and I am surprised to see so few reviews. I feel even more compelled to give this rental a first class rating without any hesitationand encourage others to enjoy staying here during your stay in Chania.

Excellent spot - charming and well equipped

Was spending 2 weeks traveling in Greece - the old town of Chania was recommended to stay. Spent 3 nights here - only wish we had more time. 3 bedrooms, could comfortably sleep 6 - but we were 3 singles each with our own room and 2 full baths to share. Laundry was great for mid trip. Cannot recommend more highly - this is a beautiful home that lives up to the pictures - would have been comfortable staying a month. We were greeted (after arriving later than planned) and shown everything we need. Host left a fully stocked kitchen, fresh fruit, coffee, etc. everything was very thoughtfully laid out. We were able to make a nice breakfast without shopping. Outdoor patio was lovely spot for glass of wine or dinner in the evening. Close to the harbor walk, surrounded by shopping, restaurants and all attractions. There's no parking in old town but found it nearby a few blocks walk. Although it is in a dense touristy area, with windows closed it was quiet at night. Great spot and great value - highly recommend.

LIKE A DREAM - DOROTHEOU HOUSE BY IOANNIS VERIKAKIS

It is like coming home ... a beautiful house with a good atmosphere in a good part of Chania - a bit like Venice with shops and nice restaurants round about. Thank you Ioannis for you host and your tipps and all the things you had in your kitchen for a warm welcome. We enjoyed the time in the middle of Chania with shopping in the market hall with stop at the small taverna 'O Michalis' - such a friendly family and the Taverna Glossitses at the port with the best mussels, grilled Octopus and small fried fishes and although the restaurant Xristosomos at the end of the port with lamb specialties. It is not the last time in Chania ... Karin & Friends

Beautiful, Comfortable, and Convenient Stay in Chania!

We have enjoyed pleasant stays in many different HomeAway and VRBO properties, but our five night stay in the Dorotheou House was the best yet! The location was fantastic for exploring the charming old town of Chania. Restaurants and shopping were steps away and the beautiful Venetian harbor was just a short walk. The design of the house was both attractive and extremely functional with all the modern conveniences in a charming historic settingl. All the finishes were top quality and the entire house was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and the closet space was very useful The doors and windows were excellent in keeping out street noise and providing for good insulation. The air-conditioning was not needed often, but worked very well when we used it. The terrace and balconies were great places to soak up the ambiance of this charming ancient city. The kitchen was well furnished with everything we needed and the cupboard and refrigerator were stocked with cheese, fruit,, bread, milk, wine, crackers, coffee, water, and more so that we had supplies for our breakfasts and snacks. A supermarket was a few blocks away where we were able to purchase other supplies as needed. The washing machine had controls marked in English and worked very well. There were several racks outdoors complete with clothespins for drying clothes. There was also a laundromat a few blocks away which we used when we wanted to tumble dry some of our clothes. Both the owner and property manager were very helpful in arranging our transfer from the airport and our orientation to the house. We were provided with extensive contact information in case we needed assistance, but that was not necessary because of how well everything was organized and maintained. We feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to stay at the Dorotheou House and to visit the beautiful island of Crete!
