About the host
Hosted by Emmalie Arvidson
Hi! My husband and I love hosting and almost 2 years ago found this gem on our most Fave island. What a treat it is to share this with you all. We live about an hr away in NH. We have 3 beautiful kids and a new daughter in law! We love to travel with friends and family!
Why they chose this property
We've been vacationing on Long Island for about 15 yrs. When my teen was young we would ask her if she would rather do a family vaca at Disney or Long Island..She would emphatically say Long Island! There's something magical about this place. From the second you stop off the ferry onto the island, the fresh ocean breeze starts healing you! Im telling you, I've had so many people say it- Its true! I love to explore the miles of coastline with my girls searching for ocean treasures..and boy have we found some! My husband loves to fish ( the Striped bass is DELISH) and metal detect. As a family, we love going through the conservation land and exploring or soaking up the rays and taking a swim in the water- You know, the ocean is a great place to cold plunge in the cooler months. In the summer the ocean is the most refreshing place to cool off! We love it here. Its Maine ( Vacationland) The Way Life Should Be!
What makes this property unique
Since purchasing the home (it used to be an Inn) we ve been told my many its the most Iconic home on the island. I'm sure it being massive and pink and at the top of the hill from the maine attraction ( south beach)..its no wonder its a favorite amongst vacationers.
All the island 'lifers' have MANY stories about how Chestnut Hill Inn has evolved through the years. Its truly a special place.
