About this property

Huge Log Home on Private Land in the Rockies

Two awesome Master Suites with private bathrooms. Nestled in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, with plenty of trees and nature. Close enough for fun activities in town, but feels remote in the best way. Five spacious bedrooms, pool table, and hot tub, perfect for several generations under one roof.
Must be at least 25 yrs old to book.

Huge 3 level home on 4.5 private acres in the mountains near Nederland easily sleeps 10 adults, and with a large hot tub right out the back door, it is a woodland paradise!

Relax by a warm fire in the wood stove (free stacked wood included in rental) in this large home on a large lot that is perfect for a family or multi-family time in the mountains. Hiking, Biking, and every kind of outdoorsy goodness are just steps away!

The home is situated 5 minutes away from Nederland on a very private dirt road. You will enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Front Range mountains while being close to the scenic mountain town of Nederland Colorado. Hike on your 4.5 acres or walk or drive a few minutes to Nederland area favorites like Mud Lake, Caribou Ranch open space and the ghost town of Caribou. Rent mountain bikes in town and explore the single track and other various biking trails. On the way to Nederland, you'll drive past the 'ned rink' which has tennis in the summer and ice skating, hockey and curling (yes curling) in the winter. The shops and restaurants and of Nederland are only 5 minutes away and you can stock up on supplies, gas and groceries while there. Then another 10 minutes gets you up the mountains to Eldora Ski Resort where you'll find lots of alpine and cross county skiing.

In 25 mins you can be in Boulder in what the locals call down in 'flat lands'. 20 mins to gambling towns of Black Hawk and Central City (where there is a world-class operating opera hall too!) and 45 mins to the Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park.

The entry level of the home has a completely open floor plan with dining, kitchen and living areas all surrounded by natural wood floors and ceilings and plenty of windows to see the woods outside. The dining table seats 8 and there is room for 4 more at the kitchen counter.

The well-equipped kitchen has granite counter tops and tiled back splash and all of the extras you would expect in a home of this quality.

Also on the main level is the 5th loft bedroom which has a twin bunk bed AND a twin over full bunk bed. Kids and teens love this room with plenty of space it's own desk and sofa (with an additional pullout bed) and two floor rocker chairs for it's own 55" LED flat panel TV for watching and gaming. The kids may never leave their own retreat to join you!

Downstairs has a full size pool table and a living area with chairs and a sofa. The SECOND master suite is also downstairs with its own full bath and tub. The 3rd & 4th Bedrooms are also on this level, 1 with a queen bed and 1 with a king bed (the king bed can also be split into 2 XL twins each if that suits your group better...just let the property manager know in advance).

Newly remodeled hall bathroom with an oversized standing shower and a pocket door separates the sink and vanity so two people could be getting ready at the same time. Both King bedrooms have nice windows to the wooded outdoors. The large wood stove is also on the lower level so that the wood heat filters up through the rest of the home. There is a laundry room with full-sized washer and dryer and utility sink also downstairs.

From downstairs you can walk out to your large patio where you can enjoy the wooded back yard and bring in wood to keep the fire going.

Heading upstairs, the entire 3rd level is an enormous master suite. The bedroom has an aspen king bed and a door to a 3rd floor deck. French doors lead to a reading area with a massage chair! Through the french doors to the right is a large master spa area with a two-headed walk-in shower, two sinks and a jetted tub with a view. The walk-in closet also in this area is as large as some bedrooms with a crib inside for your use.

Internet is provided by Starlink and is pretty reliable. Cell phones work occasionally on property but service is poor.

You will have access to the 2-car garage too! For keeping two cars in the warm in the winter time. Access to the home is reasonably flat and plowed and maintained year-round.

After a long hard day on the trails or the slopes, take a quick shower and then relax in the brand new outdoor 8-person hot tub, accessible from the walk-out downstairs area.

Such spectacular woods with scenic forrest all around. Enjoy hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and the great outdoors.

Make sure to have chains or a 4-wheel drive vehicle during the winter, nobody likes getting stuck on snowy roads.

You will have the run of the house, the property, and the two-car garage. The only things off-limits are a small owner's closet and the 3rd car garage/workshop and shed.

Access to the front door will be granted with a numeric code and the private gate at the entry to the property will be left unlocked during your stay. We would love to meet you at some point, but this is your vacation, so we will only come around if you need something. We also have a property manager with a 24 hour emergency number, so should anything go wrong you will not be in trouble.

Such spectacular woods with scenic forest all around. Enjoy hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and the great outdoors. Please respect property boundaries and limit yourself to the home property or enjoy the public open space and walking paths.

Neighbors:
Please do not disturb or interact with the neighbors. Our neighborhood is a mixture of full time residents and vacation owners. The neighbors are mostly a friendly bunch, but people up here appreciate their privacy. You may not be able to see other homes, but please respect that they are there and keep outside noise to a normal level. If you are in need of anything please contact the property manager rather than disturb the neighbors.

Most of Nederland is dirt roads, so don't be surprised by that… it is how it is up here in the mountains. Make sure to have chains or a 4-wheel drive vehicle during the winter, nobody likes getting stuck on snowy roads. In the summer cars are fine, just go slow on the last little bit of bumpy road before the house.

Once you're here, go on a hike or enjoy a great mountain bike ride!

The road is privately maintained so it can be pretty bumpy. It is also the access point for other neighbors, so please do not park on the road or block the road at any point. Take it slow when you are driving, people are often biking or walking their dogs. If you happen to come across another vehicle on the road coming in or out (or a moose), just scooch over so they can squeeze past.

Peaceful mountain home

My husband and I along with our 3 adult kids plus their SOs enjoyed our stay. We loved the large dining table for meals and games. There was plenty of room for everyone and we didn't use the loft room at all. The bathrooms were well stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Our biggest disappointment had nothing to do with the house/host. We counted on playing tennis at the ice rink/tennis courts just down the road. They did NOT convert the rink to tennis! We had to drive down the canyon to Boulder and courts there were limited. We spent 4 days at RMNP hiking though which was beautiful.

Wonderful property

Overall property was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Accommodated our very large family nicely with an open concept main floor and the bedrooms had plenty of room. The wood interior really gave it that mountain cabin feel.
