About this property

cozy cabin

Stay in this peaceful rustic Alaska cabin located between Glennallen and Valdez Alaska just off of the Richardson Hwy. Hidden away by itself in a grove of spruce and cottonwood trees, you will experience a hint of being alone in the Alaska wilderness while at the same time you will have some modern conveniences such as easy access to the highway, electricity, water spigot (summer) and WIFI. Located within short walking distance of the Tonsina River, Squirrel Creek, and Squirrel Creek Lake.
The space
The log cabin consists of one room, inside dimensions are approximately 10ftx12ft square. There is no bathroom in the cabin but instead has an outhouse about 40ft away that is dedicated to be used for this cabin only.

Water: During the warm season there is a water spigot location a few feet from the front door (recommended that you boil before drinking). During the cold season, water is available at the well located on the property (location and directions will be available upon arrival or upon request), or you might want to bring your own water with you.

Beds: The cabin is equipped with a custom bunkbed, twin size on the top and queen size on the bottom. Be aware that the top bunk isn't equipped with a guard rail if bringing children.

Heating: The primary source for heating the cabin is a barrel wood stove situated in the corner of the cabin (one bundle of firewood per day is included with rent, additional bundles are available for purchase for $8 each or 3 for $20. An electric space heater is also provided as a secondary heat source.
Guest access
In addition to the cabin and outhouse, guests have access to the small convenience store located at the front of the property when it is open (usually 8:00am-8:00pm, May through October, but closed on Saturdays).

There is also a picnic table and campfire area in front of that cabin that dedicated for your personal use during the warmer season. There is another picnic table you can use in the front of the store if you would like.

Well done!
Comfy beds, small fridge, microwave and space heater. Very clean. Hosts provided dishes and utensils along with broom and dustpan. Small wood stove and starter wood available. Lovely private setting. Would stay there again!

Adventure!
The cabin was cute and just as described. The hosts were friendly as well. When we showed up after 4pm, which is the listed check-in time, they were not ready for us. We had to wait for them to change the sheets on the bed and empty the trash inb the cabin. I would also like to warn everyone to be prepared to battle for your life against swarms of mosquitoes!! This is obviously not the hosts fault, but still a reality nonetheless.
