About this property
A camp on Lake Champlain, private pebble beach frontage, with a warm fireplace.
Create memories of campfires, cool summer nights, fresh caught fish, rain falling while enjoying a hot drink on the porch. We love paddling to see the eagles nested in the bay to the north or camping on Schuyler Island. This three-season camp takes you back in time, before the hustle and bustle of modern society.
The open floor plan invites bringing your favorite novel to the sounds of the waves falling on the pebble beach.
As you enter, you're greeted by a cozy kitchen with a small breakfast table overlooking a seasonal brook. An electric stove and tin plates make for easy cooking and quick clean-up for easy meals. We have a popover tin hanging on the wall for making a special treat on cool lake mornings.
As you walk out of the kitchen a sumptuous leather sofa and recliner welcome you to enjoy views of over 50 miles of green mountains. A bear skin rug hangs next to the fireplace and is the pride of a good friend of our family. French doors leading to the porch allow for gentle breezes to flow through the camp. Comfortable wicker chairs on the porch offer a perfect spot to catch sunrise while enjoying a cup of coffee and a book. A complimentary Keurig and bottled water are available for a great start to the day.
We offer 3 bedrooms, 2 queen sized beds and a bunk room. The lake side bedroom has a window that opens on to the porch and the sounds of waves lull you to sleep. The largest bedroom is along the driveway and offers a quite spot for people who would like to go to bed earlier than the rest of the group. The bunk room has a fun bunk bed that kids are going to love.
The bathroom is an older galley style bathroom, with free standing tub that works well for showers.
As you walk out of the porch the grounds provide a terraced walk down cement steps past an old stone wall. The lawn is a great place for families to gather for outdoor dining or a game of crochet or bocce.
As you descend the steps to the pebble beach you have 100 feet of private beach that is great for driftwood campfires. We have a 12-foot rowboat that you are welcome to use to explore the bay and if you're feeling adventurous you can paddle around Schuyler Island where revolutionary soldiers fought the British soldiers in the battle of Valcour. Just be cautious of Lake Champlain, as the lake conditions can change quickly. If the weather sours, we have wireless internet for movie nights.
The Mace Chasm Farm sells meats and produce raised right just a couple miles away and we’ve really enjoyed the food trucks at the Ausable Brewing Company for some local fare. Day trips to the Ausable Chasm are just minutes away. Keeseville offers a hidden gem of a restaurant called Taco temptation. Last minute groceries can be picked up in Plattsburgh as with any other supplies you'd like.
Going to the lake in the summer is one of the great joys in our family and we really hope you find it to be the same for yours!
