About this property
Spectacular 4 bed, 3 en suite, open plan house in heart of vibrant Kensal Rise.
A spectacular open plan home from home (I live here when not rented so not an anaemic Spartan shell!) in friendly, fun Kensal Rise.
I love my house and take great pride in it! I spent a great deal of money totally reconfiguring it in 2016. The ground floor is open plan, with ceramic tile flooring throughout, warmed by underfloor heating. The tiles continue from living room to kitchen area and via bi-folding doors to the outside terrace area giving tremendous light throughout. The South facing two-tier garden (sun all day) has a sun trap with loungers immediately outside the bifold doors, before steps lead to the lower garden with table chairs and parasol. The kitchen has Carrara Marble work tops. There is a washer, dryer, built in dishwasher, double oven, microwave, blender, coffee grinder and induction hob, and an abundance of crockery, pans, oven dishes and utensils. There’s also a (much used..) barbecue in the upper part of the garden. The staircases have spectacular lighting and (reinforced!) glass banister panels. The 3 double bedrooms all have top spec en suite bathrooms. Wifi runs throughout the house. The living room Smart TV has a firestick which gets a vast array of channels including all sports, and you can use your Netflix, Disney, Prime subscriptions on it should you have them, though you can get most things through the firestick anyway. In the 'music area' you'll find a decent electric piano, a guitar, and shakers and harmonicas for that family sing-song!! There are board games, puzzles, a chess set and backgammon in the box seat in the living room. 2 tennis rackets, a sewing kit and candles are found in the hall table. The house has an easy to use burglar alarm for your peace of mind. A small welcome pack of essentials is provided and you’re free to use whatever you like in a well-stocked larder.
Kensal Rise is a spillover area for Notting Hill.
With a supermarket, 2 pubs, and a global array of restos literally within 5 minutes walk, all you need is on your doorstep.
The house is a stone's throw from the world famous Portobello Road Market, and the iconic Bookshop and Blue door from the film Notting Hill. There are plenty of late night venues in Notting Hill too. Queens Park is 7 minutes walk away, and houses an excellent playground, a paddling pool, wide open spaces, pitch and put golf, tennis courts, ping pong. a small petting zoo, and a quiet garden area. The 'Lexi' up the road is a local community cinema which shows all the latest releases. The house is also close to the canal along which you can take a walk or bicycle ride all the way to Regents Park, London Zoo, Camden market, and beyond. Hyde Park is a 20 minute bus ride (if you're here over Christmas visit the gigantic Winter Wonderland fun fair, but wrap up warm!), and while perhaps not to everyone's taste, the enormous Kensal Green cemetery is an extraordinary place to visit with an amazing array of mausoleums and spectacular grave ornaments. Europe's largest shopping centre, Westfields Shepherds Bush (including every luxury fashion brand shop, to high street clothes stores and a global array of eateries) is 2 stops West on the Overground. While the London Underground is known by all visitors, and Queen's Park station (Bakerloo line) is 10 minutes walk away, the Overground station of Kensal Rise (3 minutes walk) crosses London from West to East, taking in Hampstead Heath, Camden market, and reaching Stratford in the East of London (near the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Village with its various attractions, as well as the O2 concert venue) in around 40 minutes. It has connections with many different tube lines along the way to take you into the very centre of London's shopping and theatre land, and all the main tourist landmarks. Going west it’s a short journey to Kew Gardens and Richmond as well as bending down through Chelsea and on to Clapham. There are also buses to EVERYWHERE should you want that top deck view of London on your journey.
I shall be available by mobile phone at all times.I will normally be local as well, and when not, someone else will be available in emergencies.
