Welcome to Skyline Cabin! This cabin is a mountain gem. The log cabin is nestled on a private, five-acre plot of land in the mountains that borders Shenandoah National Park, is located 15 minutes from Massanutten Four-Seasons Resort, and 50 minutes from Wintergreen Resort!
This cabin is now PET FRIENDLY! Read below for further details!

This gorgeous cabin is owned by a family who enjoys it when they come to the Shenandoah and rent it out so that others can enjoy this gem in the mountains! It is managed by M Power, LLC, the leading, premier vacation rental home and management company in the Elkton area since 2010.

** Guests please note that Thanksgiving, Christmastime through New Year's Day, and JMU Graduation require a 4-night minimum stay while other holidays require a 3-night minimum stay.**

Skyline Cabin is located ten minutes from Elkton and the Swift Run Gap entrance of Skyline Drive, which was mentioned on September 23, 2021, Washington Post article about recommended trail entrances to Shenandoah National Park. The cabin is accessible by a gravel road in the Sun Valley district. This winding mountain road has three bridges that cross the neighborhood mountain creeks. The cabin is located 2.5 hours from Washington DC and is the perfect Shenandoah getaway.

** Sound is amplified on the mountain, and we ask guests to be mindful of noise levels when gathered on the porch or by the hot tub to avoid disturbing neighbors.”

The cabin boasts beautiful wood flooring, an interior balcony with cathedral ceiling, a wrap-around porch, a hot tub, and outdoor seating areas to watch the sunrise and sunset over the mountains. This home is perfect for nature lovers looking to enjoy everything that the Shenandoah has to offer, including hiking, fishing, kayaking, wineries, breweries, golf, skiing, cycling, mountain biking, zip-lining, river rafting, Grand Caverns, Luray Caverns, Civil War Trails, the George Washington National Forest, and more.

The paintings featured in the home are custom made by an abstract Washington DC-based artist and are available for purchase.

Guests may hike the property but do so at their own risk due to the inherent conditions of forest walks. Please be aware of the natural environment of the cabin. There are also neighborhood dogs, so please use caution when walking around the area.

Front Yard:
We ask that guests do not utilize the front yard as we are making a conscience effort to reforest the area and have planted almost two dozen Maple tree saplings. Thank you for your understanding!

Game closet:
There is a closet full of board games, puzzles, and books. There is also a DVD player and DVD library for use. Treasure quiet mornings, afternoons and evenings sitting on a rocker or the front porch swing.

Hot Tub:
Soak in the five-person hot tub after a day of hiking and sit by the mountain to take in the breathtaking view.

Game Room:
The homeowners recently opened the large garage to guests for extra entertainment during their stay. Within the game garage, guests will find a window AC unit, pool table, ping-pong table, basketball game, and more! Recently added is a keyboard and stand. Guests are asked to be extra careful around the insulation as the game garage is still being finished. Any damage to the insulation or accessories of the game garage will be payable by the guest.
There is a key and rule sheet to the game garage inside the cabin on a hook next to the side door that leads to the deck with the hot tub. Guests are asked to return the key to the hook after each use

Pet Information:
1 DOG ONLY. The dog must have ALL current vaccinations. Guest must pay the pet fee, must clean up all pet waste from yard, must adhere to local leash laws, and must keep dog in a locked crate if the dog is to be in the property alone. In the rare instance that damage is done to the property by the dog then the guest agrees to pay for the damages or repair.

Skyline Cabin is located on a beautiful mountain that is 10 minutes from Elkton, where you will find a Food Lion, Walgreens, Elkton Brewery, Blue Elk Coffee shop, among others. You will have a beautiful experience in this mountain setting, enjoying the gorgeous trees and natural surroundings. Please be aware of the natural conditions of a mountain setting. The gravel road is very well maintained, and while it is normally easy to access the cabin, there are sometimes challenges that are inherent to a mountain setting. These include downed trees that may block the road, water that may overflow over the three bridges that cross the creek, ice, and snow on the road, among others. We have a team that is on call and available to handle any issues that may arise, but please be advised that we are better able to handle challenges if you check in before 8pm for us to have time to handle issues during our working hours. If you check in after 8pm, we will do our best to fix any problems in a timely manner, but this will make it more difficult to get our team to help solve the issue. Thank you in advance for your patience and please enjoy your experience in this beautiful corner of the natural world.

Cozy Mountain House

Beautiful home with a well-stocked kitchen, gorgeous views, plenty of space, and 30 minutes from Harrisonburg (where many of my group went to college). Host was responsive and even helped me get my jewelry back that I accidentally left behind.

Beautiful place!

My friends and I loved our stay at this property. Great views, cozy home, and we loved the hot tub and double-headed shower. We had to leave a day early due a winter storm coming, but we still had a great time all the same. The last bit of the road up to the home is hella steep and my base model wimpy SUV got stuck because I lost momentum and there was snow still on the road from last storm. Thankfully, my friends pushed my car the last 50 feet to the driveway entrance. Otherwise, fantastic stay!

Great home near Shenandoah NP

Our family of 2 parents, 2 grandparents and 4 kids, all good hikers, ages 3,5,7,and 9, very much enjoyed 5 nights at the Skyline Cabin. The bedrooms were comfortable, wonderful front porch, very cool game room, the hot tub, best games and puzzles closet ever, and a well appointed kitchen made our stay fun and relaxing. We are grateful we found this special spot.

Gorgeous Cabin

Overall the cabin was beautiful with great amenities and a beautiful view. Be wary on driving, the gravel road leading up to the cabin is very steep with a sharp turn. Several of our cars could not make the turn into the driveway and had to park in town. Our truck was the only vehicle that could successfully make the turn.

Gorgeous cabin!

Amazing cabin house overlooking the mountains on one side. My entire family and kids loved the place. It’s close to JMU, the caverns & skyline drive up Shenandoah mountains. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed. The front porch was nice to laze while drinking tea. The hammock had a nice view of the large mountain as did the hot tub out back. Kids loved the game room. It was a relaxing and active trip at the same time making everything possible since the cabin was close to everything. We’d love to return.

Worst communication ever!

This is a great house with a great gameroom BUT it was not clean!! Most importantly THE HOST NEVER RESPONDED TO MY MESSAGES!House was not cleaned before we arrived.Lots of Dead bugs in bedrooms, refrigerator dirty!, toilet bowls were gross because water had been sitting for a while and left it looking like brown slime. You could here rodents scratching inside the walls of the bedroom at night. I contacted the host and never have heard back from him! We were required to run the dishwasher before leaving and there was not any dishwasher detergent. If the rental company was better, this house would have been much better!

Secluded, Quiet Location with Plenty of Options

We had a group of 8 adults stay for a relaxing family gathering. We intentionally looked for somewhere convenient for us all (coming from different parts of VA), quiet, and with some local things to do.This house did not disappoint. There was plenty of room to spread out between the large living area, the huge porch, the garage (slightly up the hill) that had a pool table, ping pong, the hot tub, etc. We were able to enjoy some personal space, but also room to come together to play games and meals. We likely used the kitchen much more than usual visitors. It was well equipped, but could use a few tweaks that would greatly help. It seemed the coffee carafe may have been replaced at some point, as it didn't quite match up to the unit, so the last cup or so of coffee didn't drip as it should, but puddled in the container. Not a huge deal, and something we learned to work around. There were plenty of pots, pans, bakeware, and even a crockpot and blender, and mixer. (We cooked a lot to avoid having to leave the house and save some .) Only thing missing was a big enough bowl to use with the mixer, but we made due. Again, not a deal breaker - just something that'd finish off the kitchen. We had good weather (in April) so we didn't have ice to worry about on the gravel road. Our van & other vehicles made it up the hill. Definitely best to make the first drive up during daylight hours to used to the route. Just don't rush it and pay attention.Great stay! Recommend!

Fantastic family retreat

The perfect base for exploring Shenandoah National Park or the Shenandoah valley, the property itself had so much to offer we found ourselves sometimes wanting to head back early. The house itself is a family retreat in the best mountain home sense: the mountain-facing porch under a deep roof and featuring plenty of rocking chairs, a comfortable dining table and even a hammock, a large kitchen open to the main table and plenty of cozy seating, and plenty of beds. Of course the hot tub has a great view of the mountain - we loved watching the moon rise over the mountain from the tub. But for family bonding, the secret gem here is the separate air-conditioned game outbuilding... with billiards, ping-pong, foosball and air hockey tables AND a "pop-a-shot"game... while still having room to actually set up the corn hole game indoors... the challenge is getting folks to go to get some sleep for the next day's outdoor adventures.

Cabin in the woods

We really loved the location and the cabin. It is only 15 mins from Shenandoah Valley National Park and Grand cavern. Place was well kept and had everything we needed in kitchen and there were lots of games for kids (outdoor games and board games). Every morning I enjoyed my tea on wrap around porch sitting on the swing. Properrty had a beautiful mountain in backyard, and was surrounded by woods. Highlight of the trip was when we spotted hummingbird! Overall a wonderful place to become one with the nature and have all the luxurious of home.
